  1. More insanity from human right courts,
Filipino boy eats with fork and SPOON.
Teacher finds that funny, makes comment.
Filipino boy drags teacher in front of Quebec HRC.
Filipino boy wins case ( plus $ 17,000) then teacher LOOSES job!!!
Please let more of those imigrants in!!!
They are enriching our culture while emptying our wallets!!!
Immigrants can sue us for not understanding their primitive backwards ways! ( Filipinos use spoons instead of knives…I feel so enlightened and enrich by knowing this!!!)
    Don’t you love multiculturalism?
Your tax dolars paid for this anti-Canadian insanity.
    Don’t you feel enriched now?

  2. Friend of USA,
He was excluded, because the teachers / principal didn’t like his eating methods. He probably shouldn’t be made to sit separately because someone didn’t like the way he eats, any more than kids used to be forced to eat holding the fork in their right (correct) hand, and not with their left (incorrect) hand.
The real fault, is that his parents took advantage of an institution that should never have been founded in this country, the so called HRC’s.
This wouldn’t have gained anything for the parents / against the teacher in real courts, only in the HRC’s.
I think it is not so much to do with immigration, and more to do with providing a means of correcting behavior that HRC’s finds objectionable, instead of saying, “mind your own business” or “look the other way” like I was told so many years ago…
I hope it hasn’t set the groundwork for future visits to the HRC for future clashes over our shared canadian heritage ect… but this sort of win, does set precedent for our future complainers.
This could have been “settled” at recess or after school, without the $17,000. loss, the loss of employment for the teacher, the hurt feelings that in the future will no doubt need to be heard by a tribunal…

  3. Friend of USA:
The kid was eating his lunch with a fork and a spoon, a common Filipino tradition. The teacher called him disgusting.
If you were sitting at a Pizza house and some whacko would come in and call you “disgusting” because you eat pizza with your hands, how would you react?
The teacher (Martine Bertrand) chose to reprimand him in front of the crowd, she deserves what she got. Kids go to school to learn, not to be mocked by some whacked out teacher who is probably just putting in time until pension day.

  4. “If you were sitting at a Pizza house and some whacko would come in and call you “disgusting” because you eat pizza with your hands, how would you react?”
I really couldn’t care less about what a whacko thought about my eating habits. In fact, I’d probably order a basket of wings and put on a real show.

  5. No Bias whats so ever
Note the Ekos/cbc poll yesterday, in reporting the leaders #’s PM’s & Laytons shown, But where is Ignatieff’s Only Ignatieff’s Sliding & a mention of a Fifth polled supported the Liberal leader.
The note in this is Who figures out A 5th? most looking at a poll article are only interested in Visual Numbers. So in a sense No Damage to Ignatieff.
Maz has the article poll posted under yesterday’s tips.

  8. Peter Finn, Video shows Guantanamo detainee building bombs in Afghanistan
During a pretrial hearing here Thursday, military prosecutors played a 25-minute video that showed Canadian detainee Omar Khadr building roadside bombs in Afghanistan with several reputed al-Qaeda operatives.
“Allah willing, we will get a good number of Americans,” said a voice on the poor-quality tape, which U.S. forces seized from the rubble of a compound where Khadr was wounded and captured in July 2002….

  9. Thanks for reminding me about the lose/loose difference.
I do make spelling errors but French is my first language.
I taught myself English by watching tv and reading magazines, so it is not so easy for me to express complex ideas or get into heated debates in my second language.
But I suppose that if someone here was to make fun of me because of my »different» French ways, just as the Filipino boy with his spoon was »different»,
I could drag them in front of the HRC and I would win my case, because it is unfair that all of you English Canadians are not bending over backwards to let me comment in French on a Saskatchewan Anglophone site?
    right?
    This is sarcasm obviously.
I’d never impose my French ways on Anglophones on an Anglophone site.

    Governments are like people.
When they’re doing something they’re not proud of, they don’t like to talk about it.
    They’d rather you didn’t know.
They’d prefer to keep you confused.
That’s what Premier Dalton McGuinty and Revenue Minister John Wilkinson have been doing ever since announcing in March 2009, plans to introduce a 13% Harmonized Sales Tax this July 1.
    Or, in some cases, Saturday.

  12. This link was posted on a NP discussion on having Iran on the UN Committee on Women’s Rights. An airhead feminist tried to equate Col Russell’s individual crime as a comparison to Iran’s systemic islamic treatment of women in their country. As if Canada and Iran are equal in their treatment of women. The left’s stupidity and blindness is infinite.
Don’t watch this cruel breaking of this lovely young woman if you have a weak stomach. Her description and showing what these beasts did to her should be shown everywhere especially to islam’s apologists in the West.

  13. ““Most of this was not our fault,” says Frances.”
Genie … Bottle … Mule: Frances’ ‘bible’: “a book that unintentionally contributed to vast and sudden increases in the diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism and childhood bipolar disorder (manic depression), after it made changes in those definitions.”
    …-
“Psychiatry’s `bible’ could roll out a whole new list of disorders – and more prescriptions for psychoactive drugs
As Dr. Allen Frances read through the list of proposed changes to psychiatry’s bible of mental sickness, alarms started ringing in his own mind.
“I was surprised,” the renowned U.S. psychiatrist says, “that the proposals managed to be much worse than my most pessimistic expectations.”
By the time he was finished reading, Frances had calculated that the recommendations contained within the first draft for the fifth and latest revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – a hugely influential book used daily by doctors worldwide, psychiatry’s official classification of all the ways humanity can go “mad” – could unnecessarily trigger wholesale “epidemics” of mental illness and expose millions more adults and children to potentially harmful psychiatric drugs.
Frances, more than most, knows the kind of surprises that may be lurking.
He chaired the task force that wrote the current edition of the manual – referred to as DSM-IV – which Frances says is a book that unintentionally contributed to vast and sudden increases in the diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism and childhood bipolar disorder (manic depression), after it made changes in those definitions.”

  14. Yeah, I noticed that, too, wallyj.
Power and Politics didn’t have a Frank Graves’ EKOS poll up, but a Leger poll. Neither did P&P have Evan Soloman hosting but that silly woman Rosemary Barton, who seemed flummoxed that the PM and CPC were holding up so well.
Well, honey, if you haven’t figured it out I’ll tell you what’s going on: The public’s onto the Opposition and the fact that you flunkies in the media continue to fuel faux scandals.
Do yourself a favour: Shut up — and stop swooning over Iggy.

  15. Yes batb, they haven’t clued in. I caught part of the P & P and they were discussing how the Jaffer BS doesn’t seem to be going away. Well no sheet Ms. Van Duesen and all,you report everything and anything about it,no matter if it is irrelevant or untrue. They may realize sooner or later that they (the CBC) have lost much credibility, however I doubt that anything than a oink slip will get through….FIRE.THEM.ALL.

  16. Oink, pink,… when your nose in embedded in the trough, there is not much difference.

  17. wallyj- “anything than a oink slip…”. Seems an awful lot of ‘oink slips’ get promulgated by the CBC lately.
A mis-type, or a clever quip? Either way, very apropos. Salut!

  18. Barton’s Liberal bias was clearly on display. For her, the Leger numbers just couldn’t be accurate. She questioned the results, the methodology, and attempted to discredit it by referencing the EKOS poll. No doubt, had the Leger numbers been flipped (11 point lead for the Liberals), her narrative would’ve been that the Jaffer and detainees issues were having traction with the public.
Considering that Graves has been shown to be a Liberal shill while no such Leger-Conservative Party link has been established, shouldn’t it be the EKOS poll result that during that, in retrospect, should’ve been challenged by her?
As well, there was an appearance by the “neutral” Don Newman why brought up prorogation and seemed obsessed with attacking the Conservatives, suggesting all kinds of ways the Liberals could win an election, completely allowing objective analysis to be supplanted by wishful thinking.

  19. Not to rain on bb’s parade, I’m actually glad he mentioned that article, but it represented a fine piece of bait and switch by the Globe. When they ballyhooed that the “contents” of the no-fly list had been revealed, what they meant was that the “TABLE of contents” had been revealed. In other words, the fact that there is an “introduction”, a “list of names”, a “discussion”, etc. is now public knowledge, proving that that slack bastard Harper has put our gallant war criminals at risk, woof woof, etc. However, everything actually in the list, including all the names, remains entirely secure.
