And it’s deceit, as practiced by the likes of Stephen Harper, Jim Prentice,John Tory and a host of other so-called “conservatives” who pretend (just prior to election) to care about rural property rights, but have not taken one meaningful step towards acquiring them for Canadians.

For the first time in most people’s lives we do not have savings to fall back on in case of accidents, illness or unemployment. Savings accounts we had in banks, post offices and investment centres have disappeared as each removal of zeroes literally stole our money away in front of our very eyes. You have to look at your bank balance, remove thirteen digits and then understand the state we are in here. Life insurance policies and pension funds have been similarly looted.
Anyone who held their assets in cash and savings and not in immovable property, has lost everything. Anyone who held their assets in land, livestock, crops or anything to do with farms and agriculture, has lost everything.”

Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, wants to know if companies controlled by Prokhorov in Zimbabwe violate federal rules that forbid American citizens and companies, and subsidiaries set up in the United States, from doing business with brutal strongman Robert Mugabe, his regime or associates.
“This is disgusting,” Pascrell said. “Obviously, the Board of Governors of the NBA didn’t do their job properly when they vetted this deal.”
He said the project received tax-exempt bonds.
“It’s being financed partly by the taxpayer, and the public has a right to know,” he said.
Prokhorov’s Renaissance Capital investment bank has interests in the Zimbabwean stock exchange, banks, a cellphone company, mining and a swanky, private big-game reserve. The company is intertwined with Onexim, the $25 billion Prokhorov-controlled investment fund behind the deal to bring the struggling NBA team to Brooklyn.”

I stumbled accross an article that I found quite interesting due to the fact it addresses editors of newspapers, particularily those who look after the letter to the editor section, and the sociopaths-a certain kind of sociopath I hadn’t hitherto heard of. ET came to mind when reading the article as did Kate’s “The World is Being Run by Crazy People” – this article offers a plausible solution as to why Kate’s catch phrase is so true and points out what happens when a sociopath is in charge.
