On a sadly coincidental note, the legendary 13-for-13 mare Personal Ensign died today at 26.

BB must have bet the week’s salary on Zenyatta.
Zenyatta must have had some good Saskatchewan oats.
I still get goosebumps every time I watch that stretch run by Personal Ensign. Winning Colors was an exceptionally good filly who had beaten colts twice in the Santa Anita and Kentucky Derbies. There was no way that Personal Ensign should have ever caught her that day, but somehow she did.
Sensational! Only wish Rachal could of been there to make it interesting.
