Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
April, 2009 – “The report is not saying that veterans are extremists. Far from it,” Napolitano said on CNN’s State of the Union. “What it is saying is returning veterans are targets of right-wing extremist groups that are trying to recruit those to commit violent acts within the country. We want to do all we can to prevent that.”
November, 2009 – Napolitano said: “The investigation into the shootings has began and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the causes of this terrible crime, so let me not comment any further as the investigation is ongoing.” While she was in Brussels, reports out of the US suggested that the suspect in the killing of at least 13 people at the Fort Hood base shouted “Allah Akbar” (God is great) before opening fire.”

No doubt that had this been an evangelical Christian shooting up an abortion clinic reciting passages from the Bible, MSM would be all over that angle, unlike the post traumatic stress, he was picked on, just a crazy man with a gun, angle to this story they’ve been playing up. “This has nothing to do with Islam”, is the reinforced message. When the facts are established, they’ll just blame the west, Israel etc.
Excellent juxtaposition Kate. I had forgotten about Ms. Napolitanos demonization of “right wing” military types.
This isn’t a domestic “man-caused disaster”! It’s an isolated incident by someone with second-hand PTSD! /sarc
Meanwhile over at atlasshrugs2000, Pamela Geller has a photo of the majors business card. It shows “SoA (SWT)” on the card. That is Soldiers of Allah. The SWT is usually added anytime the word Allah is used.
To quote a famous appeal, “Can’t we all just get along” (according to union and leftist definitions)?
Expect the multicultural bozos to paint this fruitcake as a victim.
“After listening to hour after hour of horror stories from Iran and Iraq, he just went over the edge.”
The most shocking fact to emerge from this sad story is that soldiers stationed at Fort Hood are not allowed to carry firearms.
Good grief.
“Diversity”! Imagine how the college that took this ‘Obamination’ and made him a psychiatrist wet their pants when they recruited him. Imagine the grins on the faces of the Army recruiters as they eagerly filled their various quotas with this turkey.
The man was supposedly a full blown professional psychiatrist. What does this say about medical ‘professionals’ in general, particularly with regards to their standards and peer review? Nobody’s much talking about that. Not on the eve of the AMA’s fantastic, mind blowing coup.
Yesterday, Dennis Miller joked that they’d come up with a new word to describe this guy, who’d never been in combat and because he was a doctor, was going to be ‘in the rear with the gear’ anyhow:
“PRE-post traumatic stress”
Then he found out someone was actually using that expression with a straight face.
“PRE-post traumatic stress”
People who think that you can get post traumatic stress disorder just from hearing about stressfull things have probably never experienced real stress in their lives. There’s another term that I prefer for people who are sign up for the military but try to get out of combat. Cowards.
Gord wrote: “There’s another term that I prefer for people who are sign up for the military but try to get out of combat. Cowards.”
Combat? Many of you may recall the soldier in NS whining about being “forced” to assist in the search for remains after the SwissAir disaster several years ago. He complained that he had joined the Canadian Forces to be a cook and shouldn’t have been sent out to pick up body parts and tennis shoes.
Great juxtaposition Kate. It’s fascinating to watch them all move into poor suppressed minority mode. And Jon at 1:13 makes an excellent point; to tell the truth I don’t even know the Muslim position on abortion, but that’s typical as they have no set principles that are evident to us in the west. Murder of innocent unknowns appears not to be one of them.
This pathetic PTSD theory might be more believable if the guy snapped and shot a guy who cut him off in traffic or somebody else who seemed a target for sudden rage. But why was he well armed and prepared, ready to attack fellow soldiers who would normally be considered comrades and friends? His targets were deliberately chosen; this was terrorism.
A retired General on Oreilly last night had the best assessment of this mass murder that I have heard yet. He said what took place at Ft. Hood was the biggest act of Terrorism on American soil since 9/11.
You won’t hear any of that kind of talk on the alphabet networks. No maam.
maybe Whoopie will say it’s not shoot-shoot and therefore okay.
they were not killed-killed or injured-injured.
re. cottus @7:04 – Yup, remember that the guy was a shrink. Gives one pause for thought.
I agree, perfect juxtathingie.
Political correctness has emasculated real men in the western world. No longer do most men stand up for what is right, these limp-wristed fairies that grab positions of power and in turn hire more faries to administrate are slowly chokeing our way of life, and are aided and abbetted by the MSM, which is nothing but fairies. Every soldier on that base should have had a way of defending himself, and every one of these “peaceful religion” soldiers should be watched or better yet not recruited. They hate us, they want all the plums that western ingenuity and hard work has provided for the ungrateful woman beaters, but in turn hate all that we represent. Is that so hard to understand, guess it is when your leaders middle name is what it is.

“She Ran to Gunfire, and Ended It
KILLEEN, Tex. — The police officer who brought down a gunman after he went on a shooting rampage at the Fort Hood Army base here was on the way to have her car repaired when she responded to a police radio report of gunfire at a center where soldiers are processed before being sent overseas, the authorities said Friday.
As she pulled up to the center, the officer, Sgt. Kimberly Denise Munley, spotted the gunman, later identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, brandishing a pistol and chasing a wounded soldier outside the building, said Chuck Medley, the director of emergency services at the base.
Sergeant Munley — a woman with a fierce love of hunting, surfing and other outdoor sports — bolted from her car, yanked her pistol out and shot at Major Hasan. He turned on her and began to fire. She ran toward him, continuing to fire, and both she and Major Hasan went down with several bullet wounds, Mr. Medley said.
Whether Sergeant Munley was solely responsible for taking down Major Hasan or whether he was also hit by gunfire from her partner is unclear, but she was the first to fire at him, the authorities said.
Sergeant Munley, 34, is an expert in firearms and a member of the SWAT team for the civilian police department on the base, officials said.
Mr. Medley said she had received specific training in a tactic called active shooter protocol, which was intended for this kind of situation.
“She’s absolutely a hero,” he said. “She had the training; she knew what to do. And she had the courage to do it — by doing it she saved countless people’s lives.”
The original 911 call came in at 1:23 p.m., and five minutes later Sergeant Munley had already shot…”

Well, Napolitano was sort of correct. The shooter was in the military, but not a veteran. And she forgot the crazy Muslim part. But otherwise she was spot on. I mean, 1 out of 3 is actually pretty good for this administration.
Napolitano: “It’s inappropriate to speculate…”
Obama, last July: “I don’t know — not having been there and not seeing all the facts — what role race played in that, but I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry. Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home.”
Obama yesterday, commenting on a massacre where a Muslim who had praised suicide bombers shouted “Allhu Akbar!” before killing 13 servicemen:
“I would caution against jumping to conclusions before we have all the facts…”
Lee Harvey Oswald, Tim McVeigh, Hasan Akbar, John Russell, and John Allen Mohammed were all “veterans.”
It’s time to stop fawning over people just because, at one time in their life, they wore a uniform. Being an honorable veteran and a loyal American and a responsible citizen is a lifelong commitment, not one that expires on your ETS date. Being a soldier or a veteran is not a lifelong entitlement program which obviates personal responsibility. Indeed, we are trained to be strong, self reliant survivors. Assistance is one thing, dependence is another.
Most soldiers are brave, loyal smart and hard working. But the ranks of the military are also filled with dirt bags, cowards, malcontents, laggards, dullards, hat racks, and bootlicking ingratiators. We let too many bad people in and don’t kick enough out. We offer benefits which draw people ONLY for the benefits. This guy clearly milked the system of benefits for all it was worth and disregarded his sense of duty. His loyalties were obviously divided… No, obviously sided with our muslim enemies. Who did he think we were going to fight during his career, Iceland?
9/11 not only failed to wake this guy up, it was part of his extremist development. He was obviously not “one of our own”. He should have been discharged and his education costs recouped with interest.
Anyone who took sides with our attackers or undermined our war effort should have been jailed for treason or sedition. At the very least, they should have been ostracized.
Soldiers need to be armed 24 hours a day, just like cops. If there are soldiers we can’t trust being armed, they shouldn’t be soldiers any longer.
We are at WAR. It’s time we started acting like it. There are more wars still to come, especially if we don’t act decisively right now. Combat in Africa, and with Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Syria, Pakistan, and drug cartels in Mexico are just over the horizon.
While praise for Police Sgt Kimberly D Munley’s courage is well deserved, by the time this case has got out of the end of the legal meat grinder she will no doubt have wished many times that she had spent a lot more time perfecting her marksmanship.
Speaking of “marksman” I wonder if she is now in line for a “Winter Holiday” gift cd of his most recent speeches.

“Family members, who said Maj. Hasan’s actions were ‘despicable and deplorable,’
thought he felt harassed because of his Muslim faith, but wasn’t extremist in his
views.”
so what exactly do you have to do to be considered extremist… use a belt-fed weapon?
*
I can safety suggest that currently, logically, at Fort Hood there are no “GUN FREE ZONES”. That doesn’t mean everyone is armed but that MP’s are rebustly augmented by well armed security details. Especially the crime scene.
It will be like Heathrow or Lod—heavily armed guards EVERYWHERE—-watching—
That is not paranoia—it is reality—deterence as well.
If there were as many right wing extremist ex military groups around as the Dem’s claim there are, there wouldn’t be all these crazy muslims and their mosques doing this sort of thing.
And on a lighter note Re: those who are in the army but never see battle. “General Lee was much amused by an enlisted (black) cook explaining his absence of wounds; ‘Cause I stays back wid de ginerals’.”
The more this Administration tries to ignore this. In the end it will just precipitate even worse atrocities.
Its a sure formula for an explosive future. By trying to shine us all about the past or these individuals beliefs. Worse to ignore the reality of a symptomatic pattern of behavior in Islamists.
JMO
You guys nailed the leftist hypocrisy in this case, that’s for sure.
Very interesting:
telegraph.co.uk
“Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt.”
