  1. The green party should be called the watermelon party.
It’s “green” on the outside and “RED” on the inside.

  2. Your parents and grandparents are the reason you didn’t die at 3 years old of measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough. They are the reason you aren’t in a wheelchair or an iron lung from polio.
They are the reason you are living with a roof over your head and have toilets that flush. They are the reason you have food in your belly and books that you can read. They are the reason that you got a phone glued to your #@$% ear and are on facebook and twitter and don’t want to talk to them for 1 @#$@# minute.
And the green party is on reason that the ungrateful little @#$@#’s are turning on their parents and stabbing them in the back after they gave them life and everything they had.
God help us all. The green’s sure aren’t.
Go hug your tree, then dig a hole, crap in it, and wipe with a leaf. Then sit back with your smug satisfaction and enjoy the smell.

  3. Nice!
It’s no wonder the socialists wish to lower the voting age to 16, it’s always easier to indoctrinate the maroons. IMO we should be raising the voting age to 25 even though that’s wishfull thinking. The socialists and the social scientists lecture us that people today are juveniles until their mid to late twenties; therefore, they must be supported until that time by their parents. I agree, seriously I do as long as their benifits are reduced along with their responsibilities.

  4. Oh noooo mr. bill – another ‘generation gap, don’t trust anyone over 30’ and stuff blah blah. Only 40 years too late greenies. Pitting the young against parents? – that’ll work. But remember Lizzy your leader is an old white gal.

  5. Hey how did my Ford Expedition get in that picture? Tizzie disMay never asked for permission! Mr.g I like that, from now on the watermelon party it is! I think I’m going to start my Expo & go for a ride, it’s snowing here this morning so we could use a little of that CO2 induced warming!

  6. An excerpt from the Young Greens twitter feed:
    # RT @iamDO big up Obama on the Nobel prize! i hate when people say he hasn’t accomplished anything… open your eyes! 2 days ago
Having been a youth once myself, there’s a compelling argument for segregating them on an island till they’re 25.

  7. The catch phrase is absolutely right, parents that DID NOT teach their children to be civilized, respectful of traditions and honoring the principles of individual liberty and personal responsibility HAVE INDEED F*CKED UP THE PLANET.

  8. …and while you’re “thanking” your parents for screwing the planet, please do NOT use any of these devices, which your parents helped create and improve:
The internet, wireless networks, computers, airplanes, automobiles, televisions, etc.
Bored yet? Walk to your “local” green party HQ, I’m sure they have a cure for boredom that doesn’t use any of these things.

  9. “Your Parents” being baby boomers – keep that in mind at all times. It’s not like they’re talking about the postwar generation, who – black mark on them – actually raised the boomers.
And I don’t get it – what do these people have against corn and houses? Sheesh.

  10. This is another reason why the separation of Church and State should extend to the Pantheism exhibited by these folks. Although from a strategic perspective the 7% of Canadian voters who support these closet inquisitioners are helping Harper stay in power by splitting up the left-lib vote three ways instead of two.
Interesting to note from their site they seem to be centered in the Gulf Islands, where, the worst thing that you can do to someone is offer them a job. Anti-industry, Parasite heaven!

  11. Oh, Rick, you are SO naive!!
Corn is a phallic symbol AND a painful memory of aboriginal oppression. Also: Big Agra and Frankenfoods!!
Houses are where women are locked up all day and forced to use modern appliances while they watch tv, rather than having exciting careers. Careers = shuffling pointless pieces of paper to each other all day (between office birthday parties of course) while leaving their children to be indoctrinated by professional leftists who know better!!!
    Sheesh.

  12. “Your Parents” being baby boomers ”
I don’t know about that rick. Most baby boomers, like myself, are the grandparents now. They must be talking about your generation.

  13. Ha! My fifteen year old told her science teacher she didn’t believe in climate change and it was making some people lots of money.
Climate change is part of the curriculum in her high school.
    Who’s really f’ing things up?

  14. Mugs – I suppose if I’d had kids at 25 this would be the case, but mine are in JK and Gr. 1, and I’m doing my damnedest to protect them from feeling guilty about killing all the polar bears and burning down the rainforests. Which is harder than ever, it seems, these days.

  15. The best reason why there should be NO taxpayer dollars going to support political parties!! If they want to raise their own money to produce this junk – fine, but not my money.

  16. Other than the idiot graphic…
and the collectivist sublimation of all serious issues onto the nebulous (well-nigh numinous) “planet”…
and laying implicit blame on heteronormative nuclear progenitors (likely “western” and “white”)…
while invoking the hedonistic and PANtheistic copulatory imagery so cherished by the febrile minds of the morally superior relativists…
and laying all guilt on the individual…
which is perpetuated by the “live green, vote green” indulgence…
…there is absolutely nothing wrong with this picture!

  17. OK, so they are against security (bombs), “business” (guy in suit), vehicles appropriate to climate (SUV), affordable food (corn), and affordable single family dwellings.
    Roger that.
There are many things to despise in the world, but hypocrites top my list.
Like someone mentioned yesterday, parasites on the host.

  18. If the ignorant fools at my school had voting power, the Green Party would be in power. Not without help from our “non-partisan” teachers. Ha.
Just the thought of my generation having the right to vote sends shivers up my spine.

  19. Nice to see that the Green party is using their parent’s party and resurrecting the Komsomol.

  20. Lisa, funny!
Tenebris, it will be hard to forgive you for encouraging me to go back to the site and clicking on the links for “values”.

  21. Lars @ 10:20 Yeah!!! Being on the cutting edge (born before 1950) of the boomer generation myself I’d like to remind y’all that most of us did grow up. Those that didn’t went on to teach sociology, native studies, environmental sciences and what not in universities

  22. I know why I hate the federal subsidy of political parties – every time that pompous windbag, that cannot win a seat anywhere, and considers her roll in life is to be a pitbull on the PM’s ankle, opens her braying yap, the ozone layer takes another hit

  23. If you read it and believe it, then your parents did f up. They gave birth to you.
“If you can’t feed a baby, don’t have a baby.” – Michael Jackson

  24. So “we” f**ked up did we Lizzy? That crashing sound you hear is a million spoiled little butts being kicked out of mom and dads basement. Advertising like this is further proof, as if any more was needed to cut of the tax dollars going to political parties. Eco-Commies in my opinion. It is no accident that April 22 “earth Day” is also Vladimir Lenins birthday no coincidence.
Green is the new MEAN IMO.

  25. Rick – I know mine attended a small rural catholic school so it was easier … my oldest and I had a big argument a few years ago over Inconvenient Truth after it was shown in high school, I told her to quit buying make-up, then she bought her own car and became one of us “bad” guys and if climate change was true her and her car would have did last winter in for sure.
They will be fine Rick I’m sure. Looking back- keeping the herd mentality at bay and seeing my girls as smart free individuals and treating them so has payed off in spades, but I still keep my fingers crossed 🙂

  26. How many watermelons were involved in climbing the Parliament bldgs in Britain. Should they try that in Canada, leave them up there, no food, water, heat, and let them freeze in the dark.
When they climb the equipment in AB, leave them there to get down on their own, after the workers start them up.
They protest but know we will protect them from their stupidity. Enough, let them stay in the trees.

  27. Apparently they respect all cultures and values except this county’s. Perhaps they ought to relocate themselves to the part of the planet where they can commune with nature such as New Guinea or the Amazon rainforest. They’d then find out that Mother Nature is the ultimate recycler especially of snot nosed bedwetters.

  28. How to be the perfect watermelon. Generation Y, blogging from the socialist paradise…
“On an island where to acquire cement, blocks or steel is comparable to getting a bit of lunar dust, destroying in order to build has become common practice.”
    http://www.desdecuba.com/generationy/?p=1046
We assert that the key to social justice is the equitable distribution of resources to ensure that all have full opportunities for personal and social development.

  29. Wow. That is completely over the top. What were they thinking? Do they have any idea how offensive this is?
If Bess has any judgement, she’ll…
    1. Immediately remove this from the YG site.
    2. Apologize.
    3. Make some organizational changes so this doesn’t happen again.
And if she doesn’t, she has no business thinking she’s suitable for public office.

  30. FWIW, if we assume that the standard age range of the Green Youth membership is 16-20 (i.e. born in the early 90’s), and that the average age of a mother at the time was 28 (it is almost 30 now, and was 27 in the early 80’s), then the typical parent in question would be a product of the early sixties.
Of course, this puts them smack in the cross-over between the the Boomers and Generation X.
Basically, the green kiddies can blame all of us (I’m a pure Gen X’er of 1972 stock) for this nightmare world of comfort and convenience that they must so heroically endure. Thankfully, my oldest is only 12 and I’m therefore only to blame for for wrecking her life, and not yet the world as a whole.

  31. I wouldn’t worry about Ms May. Anyone moronic enough to run against the nation’s parents has no political future. This ad, ostensibly “pro environment”, is actually just anti-family. It may appeal to angry, unmarried people who like to dress up their bitterness in ideological costumes, but I think it will alienate almost everyone else.

  32. I guess the response to red lizzy, would be “not as bad as your parents, they let you live”.
    What a wanker.

  33. Now, this is how you alienate those over-rated over-25 voters and get the under-17 vote on-side, lol.

  34. Was doing some internet doodling – EM is attending the film “The Age of Stupid” tonight on Salt Spring Island. (Nice job if you can get it).
At the premiere of the movie, Phelim McNeer (the Al Gore questioner from a few posts back) asked attendees how they travelled there, many answered by plane. When he asked the same question of the director, he was escorted from the press area (wiki).

  35. Sorry about having to delete my comment Kate ,this post was my first read this morning and I got into a bit of a fume.

  36. This headline has no link, at least none visible from Firefox right now. If you can see this, what is the url?

  37. As for the corn, note the uniformity. This represents GM corn, a big no-no to these stalinists.
Regular corn has low yields, and limited growing area, so turning it into ethanol will raise the price of corn until the breeders in third world countries will starve.
GM corn will increase crop yields, and will grow in ever larger areas, keeping the price down low enough keep the breeders alive.
The crazy part of this whole movement is that it has two diametrically opposed prime directives that act as a cancer, and keep their numbers pruned to non-electable status.
One, the ‘social justice’ totalitarian side, needs to bring in as many bodies as possible to succeed.
The other, seeks to use eugenics and any other means available to prune down the world population, in efforts to ‘save the planet’.
Interestingly, the one constant amongst these groups, from the Greens, G-20 protesters, Hamas and Al Qaida, is their absolute hatred of Jews.
This explains why such diverse people as the Rainbow Coalition, baby killers, Code Pink, and the Greens, will protest in favour of Hamas.
Always remember, if they oppose freedom, the enemy of their enemy is always a friend.

  38. Boob (Hi. I’m the “real Leader” of the Liberal Party. Mao Stlong is my uncle Mo.) Lae has some nerve.
Now, Lizard and Boob will climb up onto the same green lily pad in the same greenscummed pond and sing/croak the duet written for them by the fabled green frog:
We are so happy, we could sjrt.
    …-
    Senator Duffy:
“Bob Rae has a plan to grow the Liberal party by subsuming labour and Green Party support”.
