Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I’m surprised he didn’t get “house arrest”.
Was expecting a cut and paste from “NEW”
I like the Dust My Broom blog, but does anybody else find his/her formatting somewhat difficult to read?
White collar criminals (judges & lawyers) looking after their own. No surprises here. Can’t we enact some law that all white collar crimes get sent to the US for sentencing and internment(sp)???
No surprise here, just Canadian justice at work. Only place in the world where guilty bastards try to delay their trial as long as possible in order to take advantage of the 2 for 1 time served deal. Lets not forget the do many crimes but pay all the same time deals either. Or the “gotta give me parole” system where the buggers get out early on “mandatory” parole after only serving a fraction of their sentence. And don’t even get me started on the healing circles…
For $55million/yr I’d gladly spend two years in jail.
Yes, don’t you just love the “soft on crime” Liberals for messing with the time served legislation and the second bill in the Senate. Two-faced Iffy supported the crime bill in Parliament knowing full well that his backup team in the Senate would scuttle it. Baker is as big a scumbag as the Katman.
google ‘andrew lech ponzi scheme’
this dude took fellow ‘christians’ to the poor house to the tune of 50 million. none of which has been recovered.
he keeps violating bail and getting hauled back into jail where he spends his time figuring out new ways to perpetuate the fraud.
20% return he promised. those ‘christians’ must have taken the parable of the absent land owner far to literal. all quite amusing really, I give the chap credit for tenacity in finessing his way out of jail with all those promises. kinda like the same way he reeled in all the ponzi suckers out of their life savings.
oh woe to those who store up riches on earth etc etc. LOL !!!
this stuff continues because it is all a make work project for cops, prosecutors, legal aid lawyers, court officials, the janitor that maintains the heating system, jail guards etc etc. ALL on the public teat. and where oh where are the brave politishuns demanding reform? certainly not in the CPC.
At that rate slackjaw &his librl looters will be awarded the Notell Prison Prize. Like said above, der zystem is really&truly rigged and the moraldecay derLiberal seethes in the decrepit craniums of burocrats and sycophants with their snouts in the trough.
I’m with DrD. Especially in a Canadian slammer, easier than what I’m doing now and far, far more lucrative.
Although 2-for-1 is one of the biggest frauds on justice ever conceived, it didn’t apply in this case; the judge did not apply the two-fer. The 6-for-1 release date comes via (Liberal conceived and enacted) statute. Our justice system is a crock when it comes to dealing with white collar crime but I think in this case the blame rests with Parliament, not the courts.
I think the blame rests with the PAROLE BOARD. They are not -required- to let the guy go after serving 1/6th of his sentence, they just can let him go if they think it “reasonable”.
My question, how can it be reasonable in every single case?
Obvious answer, because the parole board is composed of bleeding heart lefties who think no one should be in jail because its mean.
You put idiots in charge, don’t be surprised if they do idiotic things.
Phantom said “I think the blame rests with the Parole Board”.
The Parole Board certainly is the big villain but there’s plenty of blame to go around.
The time spent waiting for trial is the worst time but to try and fix it by giving 2 for 1 time off doesn’t work as they take advantage of it. Rule of thumb here is still “don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time”.
A Golden Rule I live by is “don’t gamble if you can’t afford to lose”. I consider real estate and the stock market a gamble. Don’t mortgage your house to buy on the stock market if someone offers you great returns. These people got greedy.
Remember “You can’t cheat and honest man”.
The following from a previous string bears repeating:
PM Harper should take the next available public opportunity to once again invite the Provinces to enact legislation that will permit their citizens to elect their Senators for the PM’s subsequent appointment until such time as our Constitution can be properly amended/improved. He should encourage Canadians to contact their MLA’s and suggest that electing their Senators will be a provincial election issue.
Except for the third of Canadians that relentlessly vote Liberal, people can connect the two issues of ‘crime response injustice’ and ‘senate reform’… if they’re reminded often enough.
