Or on second thought, it might just be a tragic typographical error“I was just listening to the radio and the announcer said, what sounded like, “Obama has been awarded the Nobel Speech Prize.”
Can the Cy Young award be far behind?
Plus – If you criticize the decision, the terrorists win!

  1. I was just listening to the radio and the announcer said, what sounded like, “Obama has been awarded the Nobel Speech Prize.
Or at least that is what it sounded like.
At least that prize would make sense.

  2. Acccording to news reports, nominations had to filed by Feb. 19 (?)
Not even sure how that is in relation to the ‘we’ll extend our hand, but will not respond to a clenched fist.’
Now, he wants to negotiate some type of power-sharing agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Ever since Algore got the Nobel Prize, it’s confirmed the award is a freakin’ joke, nowhere near the prestigious award it used to be.

  3. maybe someday he’ll do something to deserve this prize but so far he hasn’t yet. if anything he’s made the world a more dangerous place, especially in his own country.

  4. It was that buddy handshake with Hugo Chavez that clinched it for him. He’s officially a joke now.

  5. In these strange times, if I awoke to find my lips sewn to a toilet seat, I would not be surprised. Strange days are here. Obama Nuntius.

  6. I’m told Vegas handicappers have now made Obama the early favorite to be named MVP of the NBA in the upcoming season.

  7. Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize! In other news, the N.F.L. announced today that the 2010 Super Bowl will be awarded at Half time. Major League Baseball today, announced that President Barack Obama is being considered for both the National and American League Cy Young Awards based on his awesome pitching at the 2009 All Star Game. Meanwhile in Iran, President Ahmadinejad announced that Iran has successfully tested …

  8. Congratulations President Obama! This prestigious award was given for the work that President Obama has done thus far in encouraging world peace, pursuing an agenda of nonproliferation of nuclear weapons, seeking to broker middle east peace talks, seeking energy alternatives to deal with climate change (yes, climate change was mentioned by the Nobel committee) and to provide hope and incentive for future endeavors to this end. Well deserved.

  9. Noble Prize Spokesman: “And this year’s Nobel Peace Prize goes to The Teleprompter of The United States.”

  10. Tis and ill wind……….
I never though I would ever find myself in general agreement with the Taliban and Hamas but this is that day of days.
Although, our motives are diametrically different upon the key point we agree….premature and totally undeserved.
This sillyness began with the awarding of the Peace prize to Lester B. Pearson.

  11. Does anyone else get the feeling that the west didn’t actually win the cold war, but instead they got suckered by a wily Russia playing possum? They’ve had 20 years of relative freedom to undermine western governments. Russia + China + Islam = ?

  12. I’m beginning to think that the Nobel selection committee consists of the editorial staff at The Onion.

  13. Obama has a shot at an Olympic medal in Vancouver.
Not since Nero won in the 10 horse chariot race in 67AD has a athelete been so favoured.
The event has yet to be disclosed, but mixed pair biathlon has been suggested so Michelle of the magnificent gams and arms can participate.

  14. It occurred to me that on the plus side this will make Obama look even more idiotic and incompetent than he already is.
He will be taken less seriously as a result of winning the prize (for what it is worth). Most are viewing this news with some initial disbelief followed by amusement and laughter.
Obama is himself in many ways the epitome of American decline, a decline that he himself so badly wants.
By giving him the prize, America unfortunately looks like a fool, which is exactly what many people want.
Real leaders please step up to the plate soon before America becomes the laughing stock of the world.

  15. Just another meaningless award handed out by a bunch of useless lefticles. This could be bad news for Canada though since the U.S. will now have to annex some more land somewhere to contain Barry’s ever growing ego.

Let’s look at the things you listed as justification for giving Obama the Nobel Peace prize.
1-How is the world a more peaceful place today.
2-Despite saying that he dreams of a world without nukes, how many fewer of them are there in the world today than yesterday.
3-What American President has NOT tried to broker a deal between the Israelis and the palestinians.
4-What kind of new energy alternatives exist today that can be credited to Obama.
My advice to you is to, while being careful not to rip your ears off, place each of your hands on your cheeks and pull your head out of your butt.

  17. Moammar Khadaffi was robbed. If that great outfit he wore during his U.N. speech didn’t clinch the prize for him, I don’t know what will.

  18. Okay, let’s be serious for a moment. President Obama leads a nation that has troops in battle as we speak. Plus he’s bombing the moon! Peace Prize??? Why not the Literature Prize for his ghost-written autobiography? The second one, that is. Why not the Physics Prize for being able to fit his head in a normal sized room? Oh the comedy! T, you and the Obamatons are priceless!

Sorry for the tough questions in my 11:51am post. I’m feeling a little guilty so here is the cheat sheet with the answers.
    1-It isn’t
    2-none
    3-none
    4-none

  20. Gag factor! Pass the air sickness bag, pronto! I’m getting my news from the Shopping Channel for the next week or at least until Iran and North Korea bomb Israel to outerspace. Cheers.

  21. You know, that image of the OB JOKER poster seems fitting for the selection committee and it’s current recipient.
Today life imitates art, especially bad art.
Just look at the caliber of entertainers and the morals they uphold….and they just love obama.
Wonder if the 1.5 mil will seal up the cap’n trap scheme, er, tax re-distribution plan for the eco-eurowienie crowds.
Socialist/eco-nuts there are very hungry for this to be put through, they need the US’s full support on this.

“Look at it this way: if the Nobel Peace Prize award doesn’t put the President’s policies beyond reproach of mere mortals then what will?
What can they give him for an encore?
One of the indicators of the decline of a political class is the use of grandiose titles to dignify the merely ordinary. When pageantry, expensive exhibitions, sonorous awards and extravagant titles are all that are left to overawe the masses it is a sign of a way of life that is already passing.
I can’t but recall Barbara Tuchman’s famous opening paragraphs of the Guns of August describing the last great gathering of royalty on the occasion of Edward VII’s funeral.
So gorgeous was the spectacle on the May morning of 1910 when nine kings rode in the funeral of Edward VII of England that the crowd, waiting in hushed and black clad-awe could not keep back gasps of admiration. In scarlet and blue and green and purple, three by three the sovereigns rode through the palace gates, with plumed helmets, gold braid, crimson sashes, and jeweled orders flashing in the sun. After them came five heirs, forty more imperial or royal highnesses, seven queens — four dowager and three regnant …
The muffled tongue of Big Ben tolled nine by the clock as the cortege left the palace, but on history’s clock it was sunset, and the sun of the old world was setting in a dying blaze of splendor never to be seen again.
Amid all this magnificence were three civilian-coated gentlemen, M. Gaston-Carlin of Switzerland, M. Pichon, Foreign Minister of France and former President Theodore Roosevelt, special envoy of the United States.
It was Roosvelt who represented the future.
    What does Obama betoken?
I think historians may look back on this day and see as the day when the “civilian-coated gentlemen”, once happy to represent The People hastened, with unseemly alarcrity to rejoin the cavalcade of the modern aristocracy. I wonder whether history’s clock, as it was was at Edward’s funeral, is also nearing sunset.”

    The fall of the aristocracy:
“Charles Philip Arthur George are his given names.
    His titles are:
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester, HRH The Duke of Rothesay and Earl of Carrick, HRH The Duke of Cornwall, HRH Prince Charles of Edinburgh, Baron of Renfrew and Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.” (wiki)
At the bottom of the aristocratic pyramid is:
Canada’s Queen GG, Ordure of the Haitian Voodoo.

  23. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Ohh please stop… yer killin me!
Now that she has the Miss Nobel award locked up, Nobama is off to the Miss Understood contest next.

  24. Is there any video yet of the announcement, I can’t believe the Nobel guys could even say this with a straight face.
They must have overlooked the ACORN connection. Can you give a peace prize to a former lawyer of a prostitution consultation and election-fraud services outfit? Apparently yes.
Not to mention I can’t even think of anything he’s actually achieved w.r.t peace, be it at home or abroad.
    Hilarious.

  25. “Moammar Khadaffi was robbed” Soccermom
But Liybia’s Khadaffi has the FLAG of the Obama World Order (George Soros) GREEN.. all GREEN, nothing but GREEN…
    Whats to Know?

  26. The warmonger Bush ran two wars and the left demanded he put on trial. Now, warmonger Obama is a Saint! WOW! Obama got Bush’s award!

  27. In related news, the Nobel Committee was bestowed the first-ever “Fonzi” Award for Excellence. Spokesman Bob Winkler says the prize is promptly and irrevokably retired in light of the Committee’s unsurpassable achievement.

  28. I have a dream ??!!
I think I need to get Nobel price one day too who was very patient to deal with nonmuslim in Canda and open how Muslim and nonMuslim able to communicate to each other was our idea since 1999 while this went wrong now this is again in peacefull process. You must live long enough among nonMuslim and long enough among Muslim or know their Muslim law to link these two group together
ALL the job done by Muslim Canada and usually this American soon put their stamp over Muslim Canadian job. This Obama copy Muslim Canadian.Usually sonni copy shia way quickly.
Muslim who handle nonMuslim in peace despite all their culture and behavior deserve to get one
I have a dream I have a dream ( I am not black ) though but still I have a dream for Nobel price

  29. Whats next the Oscar?
    Its a mad World.
This has become just to surreal. It goes beyond satire or irony into something so above inanity we have no words to express this absurdity.

  30. Why is everyone so suprised?
Arafat – Lied about mid-east peace
Annan – Lied about Oil for Food
Menchu Tum – Lied about her life
Gore – Lied about the climate
Obama – Lied about pretty much everything
    I think I see a pattern here.

  31. @3:18 –
    “I have a dream??!!
I think I need to get Nobel price one day too who was very patient to deal with nonmuslim in Canda……(yaddayaddayadda)…..”
I wish to second new’s self-nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless humanitarian work in putting up with non-Moslem Canadians (or something).
    G’wan, why the hell not?
