Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Is that Obama’s dog?
I hear if you kiss the image it cures acne.
And sadly, I think it’s the most realistic of the supposed images of Christ I’ve seen so far. Much better than his appearances on tacos or the side of stores.
Verily, feedeth thy dog neither bread nor wine, or it shall embarrasseth you tenfoldeth. Thhh.
Goes to show how ignorant some people are. I do not see how this asmusing or informative in any way. Other than to show the foolishness of some.
Nice photoshop.
Can anyone imagine a little lump of turd stuck to the top of this, and having it labeled as “Mohammad Goes Shopping for Virgins”? … how many minutes would it be on Flicker? I’m telling you… someone – somewhere would face a beheading.
ect…
“Even the gods love jokes”. -Plato
I feel sorry for you, fools, that your hard heart is so closed to the occurrance of miracles.
Joe’s got it right, this a**hole spent time and some expertise in order to be offensive. Can we move on to something intelligent?
Isn’t this considered “experimental” art these days?
Every so often I have to remind people there’s a dead gopher at the top of this page… for a reason.
Big deal.
My cat’s ass looks like a piece of toast. Figure that one out.
That could be an image of a Muslim holding out his arms and wondering where the hell his head towel is…
my cat’s a$$ looks just like that, ‘cept I ain’t got a cat!!!!
I’m pasting that on the cover of my Bible and taking it to church tomorrow.
I was expecting more outright condemnation, but perhaps folks’ sensitivities are tempered by the knowledge that every time a drunk spills a marguerita across a stucco wall, half of Tijuana turns out to pray…
Kare: the outright condemnation is missing because Christians are getting hard skins from constant exposure to this; and the knowledge/ confidence that their Religion is strong enough to overcome same.
Try that with a; uh; er; I don’no; a Muslim or an Algore image.
What does a dyslexic atheist do after he goes to bed??
He lies awake all night wondering if there really is a dog!
Don’t want to put too fine of a point on it Joe, but wouldn’t that have to be a dyslexic agnostic?
I think Gunney99 hit the nail square on the head,Kate. When you have true faith in your religion, you know it can withstand critics and outright nut cases, unlike certain followers of a murderous, paedophilic “prophet”(pigs be upon him) and his cult.
the cat must have eaten the cheese sandwich . . . .
http://donstephens.wordpress.com/2007/04/30/jesus-in-a-cheese-sandwich/
…Kate, you’re not trolling are you?
😉
Kate, what would make you link to this?
It is in poor taste, and most likely insulting to (real) artists, cats, at atheists, as well as christians.
Johan, this is not insulting to Christians at all. It’s merely an absurdity. However, you not recognizing that the word Christian is not a proper noun is in extremely poor taste and very disrespectful of all the effort your 5th grade grammar teacher put in to teaching you the constructs of the English language. Sorry to pick on you but I’m up late and looking for a fight. I came back because, like Kate, I was hoping for a little more fallout and needed a laugh.
*IS a proper noun. Oops.
eljay, if you want a fight or amusement, I suggest you troll on the Wonkette site – lots and lots of this type of material there – to say it is a uber libral site would be an understatement.
I agree that something in bad taste is not worth repeating – most simply ignore this sort of thing while others feel the need to comment for conscience sake.
“I used to be *with it*, but then they changed what it was. Now what *I’m with* isn’t it, and what’s it seems weird and scary to me… and the same thing is going to happen to you!”
– Abe Simpson
Let the Left see the difference between trying to offend Christians (and failing) and just telling the truth and ending up sparking Islamic fanatics to riot and chop off peoples’ heads, or haul people before Kangaroo Kourt ’cause somebody published or republished some Mohammed cartoons…
Well, do the lurking leftists see any unreasonable outrage or threats of any kind being directed at Kate? No?
Not that I expect the lurking leftists to understand the meaning of this obvious juxtaposition.
Hmm. Reminds me of the following “miracle”…
http://icanhascheezburger.com/2009/09/19/funny-pictures-proof/
Not every seeming “miracle” is necessarily what it seems…
Uh-oh… now the jihadist bunnies are gonna come and get me… And some suicide-bombing tomatoes are going to hurl themselves at me…
Joe Citizen and Gus…you’ve both missed “insomniac”. The joke is a “dyslexic agnostic insomniac”.
The reason Kate linked to this Johan, is because of her disbelief in the Divine. Her iconoclasticism
prevents her from that gift. Someone, I believe it was Chesterton said that “The disbelief in miracles is no match for the miraculous.
As a rationalist, and someone who doesn’t believe in things for which there are no evidence, I have to wonder why it is that some people are so desperate for “confirmation” of their chosen superstition that they are willing to convince themselves that they “see” things in random patterns. When these fruit loops “see” something they imagine to be a face or a figure, why is it ALWAYS “Jesus”, “the Virgin Mary”, or “Satan”, and NEVER “Hey, that looks just like my uncle Ed”, or “Gee, I’d swear that’s a picture of my Aunt Gloria”.
Why would Christians take offense? This simply corroborates the contention that Jesus is everywhere.
Ah…that’s easy SDC…in order for something to sell well, it has to be larger that life.
If devout followers couldn’t see their impression of ‘higher order’ in the everyday mundane then it wouln’t classify as a miracle.
Now excuse me while I get back to scratching my ass and pondering life.
An dyslectic anorexic agnostic is a thin person who does not believe in Dog.
Kate,
You cannot fool me.
The dogs made you post it.
THEY do have a sense of humor. 😉
“As a rationalist, and someone who doesn’t believe in things for which there are no evidence”
Funny that, That’s exactly the reason I’m a Christian. There is just too much evidence to draw any other conclusion.
As for the photoshop, I don’t care. It doesn’t move me one way or the other. I’m not an idolater so I don’t care about an image. I try to understand Yeshua not visualize Him.
Sadly, Joe, that’s exactly the OPPOSITE of why most people choose to believe in superstitions like religions; rather than look at the evidence and evaluate that evidence on its own merits, people like yourself jump to the conclusion that “Oh well, if I can’t explain it, that must mean that an invisible magic man in the sky done it”. You wouldn’t jump to such a ludicrous conclusion in regards to anything else, but you seem quite happy to do so in this case, and I have to wonder why.
Almost as good as worshipping Ayn Rand…or some other fallible fount of folly…
Nice projection SDC. Too bad you are wrong. My conversion to Christianity was not that simple. I started out as a loud and proud atheist fully immersed in science and rationalism.
As a young man I was given the grace to realize that the evidence was actually contradicting everything I held near and dear. Of course a personal encounter with the Divine helped me along that course as well.
Some day when you grow up I’ll explain it to you. Right now you are too immature and stuck in your ways to understand.
Hold on a second , Whats the reason for the dead gopher ? Now that you mention it .
This post is on about the same scale as the Sheath publishing a cartoon of Christ giving blow jobs. I don’t have the right to not be offended no matter how offended I am.
I won’t be going to the Human Rights Commission.
BTW – what better time to post this than on the Sabbath,eh?
Joe, most religionists come to their superstition in one of two ways; either they’re BORN into a given superstition, meaning they have it pounded into them before they’re even able to consider the “evidence” or “logic” that’s shoved down their throats, or they have some sort of traumatic life experience (accident, death of aloved one, what have you), and, as a result, they latch onto something that they believe will give them some sort of mental comfort. Your “faith” in an invisible imaginary magic man in the sky has no more behind it than a witch doctor’s “faith” that his magic spells can cure smallpox, but if it makes you feel better, be my guest.
heh , on a blog that’s main reason for being is you don’t speak for me there are commenters putting words in other peoples mouths and speaking for them and on top of that others that claim not to believe in God , taking on the role of God telling other commenters that is ok to believe in God . Fainating .
Offense is the bait of satan – meaning holding an offense in your person leads to bitterness, resentment, betrayl, broken relationships & backsliding. The cry of offense is what is taking our right to express ourselves away. Offense leads to bondage and slavery of every kind. Don’t take the bait of offense.
Nice projection SDC. Too bad you are still wrong. That you want to limit yourself is your business.
Just don’t try to presume to know why others believe what they believe. I would venture to guess that you don’t even know why you believe what you believe. I would project that you believe what you believe because it has been pounded into you by society at large.
As for me, I will serve Him whom I have come to know.
The devil was here and stole a couple of letters from my last comment , or maybe the dog ate them .
Re: The agnostic, ahteist, dyslexic character who can,t sleep!
I think that the concept God, (or lack of,) gets messed up when we try to “personify” and/or “humanize” the Higher Power. I believe that each and every one of us has the ability to discover the Higher Power if we wish to do so, and we’re willing to allow God, (aka the Higher Power, the Force etc.) to guide us.
I went into a trinket store the other day and bought two powerful magnets. Why is so hard to fathom that there are invisible forces working for and against us when you hold two magnets in your hand and an invisible force holds them together and/or apart? I don’t fell the electromagnetic impulses banging against my head, the same impulses that make by radio play Frank Sinatra or Buck Owens. Yet I know that concept works.
There are several invisible forces that have yet to be explained. Do I need the full explanation to know that they exist?? Hardly!!
Now that’s my God of my understanding. As for your God, you have to go and find him, her or it! Happy trails to you mate!
