    I think his law should state ALL ombudsmen.Deceive,lie,dismiss,and obfuscate to protect their “indepentant” job from their supposedly hands off employers.

  2. Like any position regulator, real estate agent, etc… follow the money.
    Who pays them? If it’s not you paying for them they ain’t working ( necessarily) in your interest.
    And watch out for the “one time” problem, you you are a one time customer, no matter if you are paying them, the long term relationship governs things. They’ll sacrifice a one time customer fo the the long term relationships.

  4. Here in Hamilton the local television station was covering the announcement of the Liberal election plans. Of course they put their top man on the job. The head news broadcaster who is coincidentally a Liberal candidate in the election.
    I don’t think they even care how it looks anymore.

  5. Gord, this is not in the least surprising. The “growing a mushroom” process syndrome continues unabated. Most people do not see this farce and what is worse do not seem to care.

  8. Perhaps the most egregious appointee to the position of ombudsman was buzz hargrove ny the NHlpA. After sticking the knife in the chest(as opposed to the back) of the assns prez he now is actively campaigning to be the next prez.
