Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“Once again, Cosh’s Law of Newspaper Ombudsmen holds true: we are supposed to believe they exist to defend the interests of the reader against those of the newspaper, but their actual job is precisely the opposite.”
I think his law should state ALL ombudsmen.Deceive, lie, dismiss, and obfuscate to protect their “indepentant” job from their supposedly hands off employers.
Like any position regulator, real estate agent, etc… follow the money.
Who pays them? If it’s not you paying for them they ain’t working ( necessarily) in your interest.
And watch out for the “one time” problem, you you are a one time customer, no matter if you are paying them, the long term relationship governs things. They’ll sacrifice a one time customer fo the the long term relationships.
Wot! Tech columnists and editors biased? Noooooooo!
One might be left with the impression that you’d never heard of ZDNet, with its unabashed Micro$0ft whoring.
Soap sellers…
Here in Hamilton the local television station was covering the announcement of the Liberal election plans. Of course they put their top man on the job. The head news broadcaster who is coincidentally a Liberal candidate in the election.
I don’t think they even care how it looks anymore.
They don’t care how it looks anymore just as the super market Tabloids don’t care.
Gord, this is not in the least surprising. The “growing a mushroom” process syndrome continues unabated. Most people do not see this farce and what is worse do not seem to care.
He’s right but does anyone take these “we’re here for you” crapola jobs seriously? They rank right up there with :
My door is always open.

Do you expect anything less from the paper that employees “economist” and former Enron adviser Paul Krugman.
Sorry if this belongs in the reader tips, but I read this apology while in Rhode Island on the weekend. It’s an apology letter from the publisher of the Hartford Courant.

Proof we’ve devolved as a species, I guess.
Perhaps the most egregious appointee to the position of ombudsman was buzz hargrove ny the NHlpA. After sticking the knife in the chest(as opposed to the back) of the assns prez he now is actively campaigning to be the next prez.
looks like his article and some posts on another website fawning over the improvements Snow Leopard made are getting my “Ivory Soap” rating.
