What a disgrace. Eventually using the race card will no only be ineffectual but will cause a push back effect.
I hope the American people are keeping a mental note as to who is calling them racist, un-American etc and use that information when they have to make decisions in the future.
Racism is alive. If G Bush proposed 9 more seats for California to represent illegal aliens they would have crucified him. Racism cuts both ways.
I was just impressed that she could ‘sense’ the racism in the room. She will serve the Dear Leader well. He ‘knows’ these things.
Why would you want to represent illegal aliens??
Everyone, I repeat – everyone is missing the point in the healthcare debate.
The touted by the democrats number of 50 million w/o coverage is a tip of the iceberg, but not in a sense, favourable to the dems.
All this noise from both sides of political spectre is carefully crafted to divert attention from the only problem that plagues American (and Western in general) economy – outsourcing of manufacturing to the 3d world.
That is the root cause – loss of jobs. We are just beginning to suffer long term effects of outsourcing, after enjoying short term benefits of higher stock prices, higher dividends and lower retain prices.
It is painfully obvious, that despite largely advertised Chinese investments into the US economy, the cash flow is sinking towards negative, if not negative yet. 100% cash that leaves the country to pay for Chinese goods is then split into several streams overseas, only small percentage of which returns back into the US economy in the form of investments. Large portion is pocketed by corrupt bureaucracy, used to pay for Chinese infrastructure, build up their military that targets us with ICBMs, and simply pissed away in the best socialist traditions.
How can 300 million people be so blind as to not notice the root cause of what looks like looming civil war to me?
There is nothing worse than refusing to engage in debate by pulling the race card. This type of behaviour is what really causes agressive partisanship, to shut down debate with these ridiculous slurs.
This whole Obama era is sickening.

I’ll give you outsourcing.
Chris Matthews, around 8:00: “We need a cheerleader, we need a quarterback.” The woman replies, “absolutely.”
No reason to be surprised from a guy who claimed it was his responsibility “to make this Presidency a success.”
Then:
“Yes, We Can”
Now:
“No, He Can’t”
Having to hype the race card this early in the game shows the desperation of his supporters.
Disgusting and disgraceful.
I prefer “Get your hand out of my pocket, motherf**ker!”
The race card is already irrelevant … it has been over used.
Regarding being uncomfortable with a black president … can anyone name a successful black leader anywhere on this planet anytime? If not, then perhaps there is a reasonable fear attached to the Obama presidency. And I don’t believe it’s based on skin, I think it’s based on the fact that he is a whacked out Marxist. So far he has not been successful with any of his policies and it’s looking worse by the day. I have never seen Americans so divided. I think this is a fair question. I have asked it before and I never get a reply.
If anything, it is Obama who has showed signs of racism from his Reverend Wright years to his Cambridge police remark. That’s what worries me.
Somebody please tell these pathetic fools that the race card died the day The Big O was elected; and it was buried at Beer-gate. White guilt was washed away with election of The Big O … and then The Big O showed himself to be a racist during Beer-gate, and to top it all off, nobody but true believers were swayed by the event.
It’s time for the left to find a new card … perhaps “socialist” is the new “N-word”.
That comment by Matthews himself was pretty spot on about Obama. “He’s a cheerleader but we need a quarterback”.
What a load of shitte. Will Smith for president.
Aaron; the loss of the manufacturing jobs is a GOOD thing. Manufacturing is a dead end ( for 90% of the employed group) only the tool and die people get anything out of a career on an assembly line. Moving to an information based economy, is a GOOD thing. As the Chinese are finding out, there’s always somewhere cheaper. As soon as Africa pack’s it’s shit up properly, they will be the next china.
Selling innovation and new ideas is where the money is, and where North America should be dragging itself to.
Have a look at what the Big 3 did to Michigan and Southern Ontario, hundreds of thousands of people with no skills beyond, ‘left screw, right screw, top screw bottom screw’.
HOW IS THAT TRANSFERRABLE?
Saw Chrisy interview Pat Buchannan a little while back wondering how serious the health care protest were to be taken. He assumed an air of hysterical nonchalance talking feverishly and endlessly of it being a matter of ‘non importance’. Pat, his guest was shouted over constantly – he hardly got a word in. He might as well not even been there. I guess we’ll just have to take Matthew’s word then that it’s a matter on non import heh.
Aaron,
Your comment deserves a big thumbs up. With most all the manufacturing base gone overseas it is doomsday racing down our way and it is inevitable, all the stimulus pumped around the western world is just slowing down doomsday a bit.
The only thing that could possibly save the US as the world’s economic engine is to have a new groundbreaking invention fully marketed within the US. An invention in the magnitude of the telephone, the automobile or the personal computer. Otherwise forget it. We are still heading for major turmoil.
Coming back to the topic,
MSNBC is owned by General Electric. GE gave millions to the Obama campaign. GE wants to be the major leader in Obama’s Cap & Trade thievery by being the producers of 100’s of windmills amoung other things.
MSNBC will do and say anything to help through with Obamacare. The sooner they’ll see Barry pushing his next scheme: Cap & Trade, the true payback GE is still waiting for.
MSNBC are truly the voice of an angry and fascist Obama administration.
This “raaaaacist” tactic has been done to death, especially here in Canada. It’s simply the way lefties avoid a serious discussion on any issue. Brand the one you’re arguing with a “racist”. There, now you don’t have to address the points they’ve raised. Definition of a racist: anyone arguing with a liberal.
It’s interesting too the ones who are now being branded “racist” by the Democrat shills are the ones who tried to get Colin Powell, and Condoleeza Rice to run for president and who tried to get Miguel Estrada appointed to the supreme court. The Dems, of course were able to kibosh Estrada’s appointment by use of filibusters and various procedural legerdemain. Kerry and Byrd fought Condi’s confirmation so as to prevent her assuming a place of prominence at the inauguration.
Another thing: that expression, that so-and-so “is uncomfortable with a black man as President,” which is tossed around a lot these days, is a despicable and cowardly way around what the speaker really means, i.e., so-and-so “is racist.” It’s time that people who use it are called out, but no-one seems to want to do it.
Arron D, you could not be WRONGER.
There is no surplus created in information based economy, as information can only be about something material, like manufacturing. You can’t live in a megabyte or wear a kilobyte, or drive to work in a gigabyte. Everything you see is made somewhere, and if it’s overseas, that’s the money gone untaxed, uninvested. Gone is the word. You could burn money just as well, it does not matter how they vanish.
It’s amazing how much the left despises the working class.
Is that ironic?
Once the sodium pentathol is injected, and if the re-educated doesn’t admit to racism, I suppose it’s easy enough for these socialists to change the solution to potassium chloride.
Thank you Chris Mengele…
Arron: Your analysis is correct as far as it goes however the Unions especially the teachers Unions and the bureaucracy have so dumbed down the system we are not producing the people needed to make it work. Try finding a Math teacher.
The tech companies need well educated folks badly so badly they are importing them.
The great shift came during the Dot com boom we could easily shift from autos and washing machines to technology both soft and hard but all we produce out of our schools is artists. ( sorry Kate ) And you don’t get innovation or the ability to produce complex products with Liberal arts grads.
If Obamacare is so great why does Matthews have to resort to distraction instead of actually reading the bill and talking about it.
Thats the quality of debate you get from the Liberal arts side the best they can come up with is the same old tired rants. If they actually taught critical thinking to guys like Matthews this whole issued wouldn’t exist because these bills wouldn’t exist.
Speaking to the topic:
I say the race card should be played early and often. That way we’ll all finally be inured to it when Liberals can no longer do anything but face the cold hard reality of the mistake that was made by electing the Kenyan. Moving to an information based economy, is a GOOD thing. As the Chinese are finding out, there’s always somewhere cheaper. As soon as Africa pack’s it’s shit up properly, they will be the next china.
Arron D at August 11, 2009 12:13 PM
I disagree.
Have you ever had a problem with your computer, picked up the phone, and then had 2 problems, because the person on the other end couldn’t speak coherent English or understand you very well either?
Why is that you may ask? Because the information jobs are being outsourced too.
As to Africa, Africa is worse off now then when I was a child in the ’60s.
Africans aren’t going to be getting their act together in my lifetime or yours.
It’s the tribalism and the corruption.
You might as well be saying that North American Indians are going to form the next manufacturing hub.
On the bright side, Asia minor and Africa aren’t going to be giving up their bountiful resources at levels that can compete with Canada because of that same tribalism and corruption.
I wonder, did Chris have shivers up and down his leg?
Chris should have his bag stapled to his leg
“Tingle up the leg” guy has the vapors worse than Paula Abdul.
I volunteer to staple Chris’ bag to his leg. I’ve got a shiny new surgical stapler right here!
Aaron; there have been many occasions when I have been MORE wrong. And it is entirely possible that there will be many more. This isn’t one of those though.
Manufacturing, beyond those few needed to design a plant, and connect it and then maintain it, creates a common and valueless commidity. China is not making it’s fortune building new crappy GM cars. Anyone, anywhere, Africa included can build new crappy GM cars.
The money is in generating ideas and selling them. North America needs to invest in concept generation. once the idea is sold, the hardest and most profitable part is done.
Churning out whatever it was that was thought up is an afterthought.
Finally Aaron, you are right that we can’t live in ideas, but would I it more valuable to have 100 people making a new Hyundai Elantra, or
100 people working on cold fusion… hmmmm… I’ll go with cold fusion. Between those 2 groups, who is buying Hyundai, and who is buying Lexii?
Everyone keeps refering to Obama as black. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t he 1/2 white?
The second people say stupid things like that, call them up on it. Make them explain themselves IN PUBLIC. Let them blather their way out of the hole they dug for themselves. Let their childishness be exposed. Not everyone is so stupid that they can’t see through the ubitiquous race card and fear-mongering. If guilting people is the only way they can do things, I just don’t know. What enormous infants they are!
Matthews should stop fantasizing about abducting people and forcing truth juice into them and have a doctor attend to the ‘tingle he gets down his leg” when he’s around Dem machine power brokers.
Just read the teleprompter and give up ad-libbing the news filtered through fanatic partisan perspective. The more he ‘colors’ the news the more he only succeeds in revealing how venal he and other MSM Dem hucksters are.
Being anti socialist is the new racism. You just know where this is going to end. In another Waco or similar staged event to demonize opposition to justify storm troopering them.
According to these loons…a remark such as…
“GW is such a disappointment this week…”
is now a racist remark…..
The race card was injured by OJ…..and it’s been downhill since…..
So it’s unAmerican to discriminate against the unAmericans.
Arron D
I believe we herd techies say the same thing about the “old economy” when JDS Uniphase and Nortel were flying high.
You can’t eat information. It won’t house you. It won’t feed you. You can’t watch information without a manufactured product to watch it on.
A nation’s standard of living must be built on a foundation of real, substantive wealth. That is old economy stuff. The information/service stuff is an add-on which adds value to a pre-existing and already-wealthy nation. You can’t give Somalis all the information you want. They can’t do jack with it (unless it’s coordinates to a bulk carrier offshore…)
“You can’t give Somalis all the information you want.” Should be you CAN not Can’t. But you all know that…
You are right Jason, but there’s no money to be made in Manufacturing.
Your example of ‘ can’t watch information without a product to watch it on’ is a great example; the margins on LCD TV’s is minimal, under 10% profit per unit. Unless all the plants are in Thunder Bay, or North Bay, the only people who can live on those wages are the illiterate and junkies.
Your examples of JDS and Nortel bring it home, Nortel’s ability to manfacture what it designed was a ‘nice’ feature for them, but if the company survives and is cut up, the wireless people will still design wireless gear, they’ll just send it to China to be made, unless space in North Bay opens up. Who do you think is better paid, the designer or the line monkey reproducing the design? ( and I know the line monkeys made $20ish an hour).
Manufacturing is the lowest common denominator in this equation, by demanding that we save manufacturing, you are demanding that as a society we give up on the opportunity to move forward. there will always be ‘ left screw, right screw’ people, always, we need to improve the number of people who will say, ” screws, why screws? I’ve got an idea for this ….”
There’s an entire world out there to make whatever we can dream up, why would we want to compete with that?
That last bit should have been :
There’s an entire planet of people who can ‘left screw, right screw.’ Why would we want to compete with that. We should, as a society aim a little higher.
There is plenty of money in manufacturing. And a 10% profit is better than what most tech companies were making (which was a fast burn.)
We don’t do most of it any more as our labour rates are too high for unskilled work but there is lots of potential for skilled manufacturing just as there is for making precision goods. Canon only makes there cheapest lenses outside of Japan. You don’t see a Hassalblad made in China. Yet. Japan still manufactures their cars in Canada at a profit (with the exception of this year alone) while producing a quality product (as they aren’t unionized.)
The cheapest, valueless, dollar-store garbage is welcome to be made elsewhere but if we don’t keep the high-end manufacturing we will not survive as a developed nation with a high standard of living.
There can only be a few nations built on intangible assets (generally very small tax shelter countries like Luxemburg and Monaco who collect currency from the tangible economy producing nations.) If you don’t have tangible assets being created your intangibles are not sustainable. Our current economy in the developed world (outside of Canada and Australia’s resources) is based on intergenerational theft. It’s living on borrowed money and borrowed time. We are consuming more wealth than we are creating which is first and foremost a function of infrastructure and capital assets.
A designer may be paid better than a guy on a line but you only need a handful of designers and a hell of a lot of grunts turning screws (save the army of robots.) And yes, I’m fully aware of the concept of comparative advantage but it doesn’t work if you have NO advantages. Even in dirt poor societies there is money to be made by the few. Some very wealthy people have created thriving businesses in poor countries. But a country isn’t a handful of techies designing some routers the nation’s peasants can no longer afford to buy.
The service and information part of the economy is an add-on. You have to have the Model-T economy whereby the general public are making enough money to buy the goods produced. A country is made up of a lot of stupid people who can’t comprehend most information, can’t design the layout of their living rooms and basically have no propensity to do much of anything with skills. There are only so many people who end up doing the high value jobs.
What are you going to do with everyone else if there is no tangible economy?
And real assets are more than manufacturing. You can’t dial up Microsoft and have them email you a new bridge. You can’t “manufacture” your roads in China and ship them over here. Infrastructure is far more important than the number of techies. It represents the inherited wealth a country is expected to at least maintain if not update and renew. We fail on that count as well.
Certainly enough evidence on this blog that race has a lot to do with the conservative hate agenda.
“Certainly enough evidence on this blog that race has a lot to do with the conservative hate agenda.”
It’s true cause you said it. No facts required.
We definitely need a higher calibre of troll around here. The lot we have are pitiful.
Can’t we be taunted by people who are intelligent enough to make a point of some sort?
DEATH PANELS! RUN! IT’S THE DEATH PANELS!
Pathetic lies.
Surprising little (not) said about that disgraceful display by Palin and crew.
DEATH PANELS!
I rest my case.
Consequently, the real Boethius was executed.
From the “Consolation of Philosophy” to… “DEATH PANELS!” Thus tracking the degradation of society through the millennium.
Have you guys been on Mars observing that planet’s climate change for the past year or so?
In case you missed the election, the right was fond of pushing the Barack HUSEIN Obama meme in order to point out how this guy was A) a foreigner and B) son of a Black African Muslim. In fact they can’t let it go even now. Go to any rightwing website and I guarantee you’ll see people throwing around the n word.
How much do you want to make a bet that a larger than average percentage of the teaparty folk are Birthers?
Check this out:
“The birther movement is strongest in precisely those states where Republicans poll best and health care is worst. And as it turns out, there is a Birther Corollary: education, working conditions and myriad other indicators of social failure are generally most dismal in the most red of states.” http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/iron-law-of-birtherism
I seriously wouldn’t take that bet if I were you, but then you guys aren’t exactly the best decision makers.
TOTUS must be broken again. Obama spoke about health care earlier today in NH and finally, albeit inadvertently, told the truth about govt run programs. “They do it all the time,” he said. “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. … It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/08/11/live-blogging-obamas-town-hall-meeting-2/
John – isn’t this a “rightwing website”? – I mean, I assume you’d call it that, otherwise why the hostility?
So who’se “throwing around the n word”?
“education, working conditions and myriad other indicators of social failure are generally most dismal in the most red of states.”
Yes, flyover country is much worse than south central LA, Detroit (all of Michigan in fact,) Miami… So little failure in those Blue areas.
I figured the “birthers” were foolish wankers in the same way I though the Gorebots whining about stolen elections were. Except that if the birthers were wrong, how come Obama has spent 800k (so far) in legal fees attempting to prevent the original document from being released when the document is supposed to be public already? People with nothing to hide don’t waist the better part of a million dollars hiding it. Since it would be so easily debunked if not true, what does he have to hide? Only thing which is making me think there is anything to this is the reaction of Obama. The nutters are always screeching.
And I’m well educated, healthy and employed thanks.
At least you have a point. However based on crass prejudice it is (and I bet you missed your own hypocrisy in that regard while you fail to point out one instance of the “n” word on this site.) That’s more than I can say of the trolls.
I do not know much about the American health care system – they seem to have as many horror stories as Canadian health care. That is not the point.
This is a NO win situation. If you disagree with Obama’s policies you are a racist and worse, part of an organized mob regardless of whether the protest is at a town hall meeting or on the street; despite the legitimacy of the concerns brought forward by the so called “mob”.
However, as others have said on this blog, this is more about free speech than health care. Both Canada and the US are increasingly experiencing attacks on their freedom of expression.
The really unfortunate reality is that when the power of the pen and speech are limited, historically, the only other option to defend/express freedom has been a true “mob” which in turn will most certainly be used to confirm that the people who disagreed with Obama’s policy were of a “mob” mentality all along. No win situation. A brilliant yet heinously deceitful and utterly evil strategy.
What a disgrace. Eventually using the race card will no only be ineffectual but will cause a push back effect.

More than mildly amusing parody on media coverage of the ‘mob’ members who are hijacking health-care rallies.
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/08/11/encounters-with-the-mob/
And as it turns out, there is a Birther Corollary: education, working conditions and myriad other indicators of social failure are generally most dismal in the most red of states.”
http://crooksandliars.com/jon-perr/iron-law-of-birtherism
I seriously wouldn’t take that bet if I were you, but then you guys aren’t exactly the best decision makers.
TOTUS must be broken again. Obama spoke about health care earlier today in NH and finally, albeit inadvertently, told the truth about govt run programs.
“They do it all the time,” he said. “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. … It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/08/11/live-blogging-obamas-town-hall-meeting-2/
