  1. Via Gateway Pundit, a transcript of an interview with Henry Gates, who was recently arrested for non-cooperation with the Cambridge police officer sent to investigate a reported break-in. Excerpt:
Gates: My mother hated white people.
    Brian Lamb: All her life?
Gates: Probably. I didn’t know until — in 1959 we were watching Mike Wallace’s documentary called “The Hate that Hate Produced.” It was about the Nation of Islam and I couldn’t believe — I mean, Malcolm X was talking about the white man was the devil and standing up in white people’s faces and telling them off. It was great.

  2. Yes, EBD, in this scenario, it was Gates, not the police officer, who was engaging in ‘racial profiling’ – claiming that because the officer was ‘white’ that this meant that he automatically assumed that Gates was a criminal.
And Obama has succeeded in creating division and dissension among the American population. He has Democrats vs Republicans; blacks vs whites; hispanics vs whites, legal immigrants vs illegal. Watch him increase the divisions even more. Into those who Support The One. And those who don’t.
The arrogance of the man – asking both of them to the White House for a beer, as if spending some time with The One will solve all problems.
But heck – that’s what Obama feels; he thinks that the leaders of Iran, SA and etc, just need to spend some time with The One – and all will be well. Same thing in Latin America.
Notice, however, that when things don’t go well, Obama will at first, angrily reject the criticism and then, he’ll totally, absolutely ignore the situation and people. If he feels he can’t control you – you simply cease to exist for him.
I’m still wondering what’s next. You have a situation where a leader is incapable of leading; a man who lives completely in a make-believe world devoted to his own narcissism; someone who must preserve this cocooned make-believe world from the outside world…what happens when he’s put in a situation where this real outside world can’t be kept far, far away..just by words?
He’s unable to acknowledge faults, failures (his foreign trips, his stimulus, ..); his litany is always to Blame Bush.
Then, there’s the additional cocoon of resentment and anger…which is what set up that cocoon of a make-believe world in the first place. Obama’s anger has been channeled into racism; he’s anti-white. It’s been channeled against wealth, against individual entrepreneurship, against the investor class. And – He’s anti-American.
All of this is becoming obvious. So- what happens? I’ll predict that he’ll lose ground in 2010 and then, sit back and blame Congress for everything.. that is; he’ll retreat into his cocoon.

  3. Truthfully ET I don’t believe that Owe is smart enough to be that conniving. Divide and conquer is Standard Operating Procedure for ‘progressives’ the world over. It was the method that kept the Canadian Liberals in power for decades.
Owe is not his own man hence the constant use of teleprompters. The backroom boys feed him the answers that make him look good and looking good is the most important thing to Owe. With his obvious vanity he is easily manipulated by his coterie of henchmen.
Gates on the other hand is living proof that racial bigotry is not a barrier to becoming a teacher at Harvard.

  4. Black president demanding segregation in Jerusalem
    By Jeff Jacoby
Late last week, the Obama administration demanded that the Israeli government pull the plug on a planned housing development near the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem. The project, a 20-unit apartment complex, is indisputably legal. The property to be developed — a defunct hotel — was purchased in 1985, and the developer has obtained all the necessary municipal permits.

  5. FREE: Have you noticed Presidebt Owebama’s huge slide in the polls the past month has received no coverage in the MSM. I notice there have been several major stories about Sarah Palin’s slide in the polls since she resigned. FIRE THEM ALL if I may borrow Ezra Levant’s HRC slogan.

  6. The big 0 will continue to drop in the polls until he slinks away with his tail between his legs asking the VP to take over because its just to boring for him. Or maybe its just to far below his pay grade?

  7. fritz – I’ll disagree to a small extent. Obama’s slide in the polls has received coverage in, of course, FOX, but also in CNN. Since I don’t watch Cdn news, I’ve no idea if they’ve commented; and certainly, online Star, etc, haven’t said a word.
And I’ve no idea if the hard copy US newspapers are saying much. But the hard copy and blog analysts are talking.
That minus 11 is the first time he’s moved into the double digit negative ratings. He’s been in the negative ratio since the beginning of the month. His general approval ratings are still tied with disapproval.
What will he, or his handlers do? I think the Gates Affairs was a deliberate set-up to move race into the forefront, to set black vs white, to define black as ‘wise’ and white as ‘authoritarian’. I think this is a deliberate tactic.
Obama began his campaign insisting he was ‘colour blind’ but he’s moved back into his ‘comfort zone’, the zone of 20 years of the Rev. Wright’s anti-white, anti-wealth, anti-American preaching. This is becoming more evident on a daily basis.
We saw it on his foreign travels, where he defined himself as ‘Other’, as ‘A New America’ and as this Other Man, apologized for the evils of all past history of America; that is of White America.
We saw it in his deliberate insults to our allies of the West. And we saw it, expressed via his view of himself as The New Man, who needed only to talk with rogue states in the Middle East – and they would all bow down to him.
None of this worked. Europe and Russia have snubbed him. The Middle East ignores him. N. Korea taunts him. And Obama’s ventures into Honduras have been to promote anti-democracy and thuggish dictators.
Why is he inserting ‘race’ as a tactic in internal US affairs? Because he’s having trouble with his Health Care Bill. Obama himself has no interest in health care; hasn’t read the bill; has no understanding of or interest in costs or benefits. He has only one agenda – defining Himself as a Savior. He wants a Health Care Bill linked to Him.
The majority of Americans are covered by various insurance health care. We Canadians pay for our health care just like we would pay for an insurance coverage. Same thing. The difference is that insurance coverage doesn’t dictate the treatments provided by the medical profession. In Canada, the government health care rules what the medical staff can do – which reduces availability of treatment. And increases medical costs because of the high cost public service bureaucracy.
In the US, only a small percentage have no insurance but treatment is covered, pro bono, in all emergency clinics. This small percentage is made up of immigrants, aliens, people who feel their savings are higher than insurance costs, and others who reject insurance. AND – a small ratio who are poor.
Obama is after the immigrant, alien and poor, who tend to be black and hispanic.
He’s after them, as a voting bloc, and also, as part of his Rev.Wright ‘blacks are victims’ mentality.
I don’t think that Obama would have so rapidly reverted to his cocoon of security if he’d been more successful in other areas. But the US economy has worsened, unemployment is up, he’s been unable to achieve anything in foreign affairs, his cap-and-trade has stalled, and now, his Health Care Bill has stalled.
Someone as pathologically neurotic as Obama will, confronted with problems, at first become angry with those who are causing the problem, and then, retreat into his ‘security cocoon’.
I’m not sure but I think Obama will heighten the racial and other partisan divisions in the country. Will this work? If these don’t work, he’ll retreat into his cocoon – blaming any and all for their failures to pass his bills.

“3,000 Low Temp Records Set This July!
UPDATE: It’s not just the surface land temps —
Blog reader Tim points out “Water temps at Frying Pan Shoals (off Cape Fear) fell to 78 degrees a few days ago; NDBC historical data shows this occurs only 0.3% of the time in July!” Here’s a look at the weekly departure from normal sea-surface temperatures:
This is not the case away from the Carolina coast; most of the Atlantic that we would be concerned with for Hurricane season is normal or slightly above normal – there are other factors keeping that activity down.
ORIGINAL ENTRY: Here are some stats and maps regarding the unusually cold July that is happening over a large portion of the U.S., especially the Northeast quadrant (yes, it’s been unusually hot in the SW, see below). Note: Since I am on vacation at the end of the month, I will not be able to update these but AccuWeather.com will be running news articles about how cool July was in these areas, come the first week in August.
First, some stats. 1,044 daily record low temperatures have been broken this month nationwide according to NCDC — count record “low highs” and the number increases to 2,925, surely to pass 3,000 before the end of the month. Some thoughts on the ‘low highs” below.*
graph of low lows and low highs for July
The period of July 17-20 was the worst, with over 1,600 stations breaking records. It’s worth noting that these stats include all records across the nation. Of the record lows, through July 20th (thanks to William Schmitz @ SERCC, check out their Twitter Feed), this was the regional breakdown:
    Nationwide: 966
    Southeast (AL/GA/FL/NC/SC/VA): 248
    Northeast (MD/DE/PA/NJ/NY/CT/RI/MA/NH/VT/ME): 193
Next, a map of the Departure from Average temperatures so far in July (yes, we have one week left). Yes, that’s a “-10.0″ in Pennsylvania – double digit deficits over a month are rare indeed. Note that there are no positive numbers.”

““Deep Cool” – the Mole within Hadley CRU
As some WUWT readers may have learned from reading Climate Audit, an anonymous source deep within Hadley CRU has provided Steve McIntyre a copy of a data file he has been seeking but has had his FOI requests to Hadley seeking the same file, rebuked.
I’ve seen the data. As I posted last night on Climate Audit:
You know, not everyone in every organization believes in everything the organization does. This is why we have leaks in the White House and people like “Deep Throat” that provide evidential tidbits with guidance like “follow the money”.
Steve has shared this data and the source with me, as a way of verification, and I can vouch for both the validity of the data and of the source ip address. It truly comes from deep within the organization. – Anthony
While the CRU data file is not the most current, it is the most current one the mole could produce for us. Read the rest of this entry »”

  11. Speaking of MSM’s Islam/Muslim denials?
    Here is MSM/CTV’s Conservative denial.

The word Conservative does not appear.

“Ottawa energizes strategy for Arctic sovereignty
The federal government has brought out a new report and website covering its plans to boost Northern development, as the sabre-rattling over Arctic sovereignty heats up between Canada and other nations seeking to lay claim to the region.
In a political show of force, Indian and Northern Affairs Minister Chuck Strahl, Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon and Science and Technology Minister Gary Goodyear all spoke at a press conference to outline the report, entitled “Canada’s Northern Strategy: Our North, Our Heritage, Our Future.”
“This document further articulates our vision for the North and highlights the extensive and growing progress to date, including major investments under Canada’s Economic Action Plan,” Strahl told reporters at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Que.
The report outlines four pillars of the government’s Northern strategy: Arctic sovereignty, promoting social and economic development, protecting the North’s environmental heritage and improving Northern governance.
Strahl and the other ministers also unveiled an official website (northernstrategy.gc.ca) that will contain up-to-date information on Arctic policy.”

“British economists apologize to the Queen over crisis
LONDON – Sorry Ma’am – we just didn’t see it coming.
A British newspaper reported Sunday that a group of eminent economists have apologized to the Queen for failing to predict the financial crisis.
The Observer newspaper reported that a letter has been sent to the Queen after she demanded, during a visit to the London School of Economics last November, to know why nobody had anticipated the credit crunch.
According to the newspaper, the letter says that “financial wizards” who believed that their plans to manage risky debts and protect the financial system were infallible were guilty of “wishful thinking combined with hubris.”
Signatories to the three-page letter include Tim Besley, a member of the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee and historian Peter Hennessy.
The newspaper said the content was discussed during a seminar with a group of leading economists in June, including Nick MacPherson, a permanent secretary at Britain’s Treasury, and Goldman Sachs chief economist Jim O’Neill.
“In summary, your majesty, the failure to foresee the timing, extent and severity of the crisis and to head it off, while it had many causes, was principally a failure of the collective imagination of many bright people, both in this country and internationally, to understand the risks to the system as a whole,” the newspaper quoted the letter as saying.”
