Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation, here is Mr. Buddy Guy, with Mr. B.B. King and his band, performing I Can’t Quit You Baby ¤, at B.B’s Blues Club (2:59).
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

Great number–love BB king!
This is very interesting to hear. I had heard Led Zeppelin do this on one of their first albums.
Here is an early version of Led Zeppelin covering ‘I Can’t Quit You Baby’. Every version of this song by Led Zeppelin is different because they were probably the first live improvisional rock band and people hated that at the time especially when they wanted to hear a song like it was originally recorded. They were also probably the first real professional rock band that went for musicianship (plus they had a very tall dominating singer who had learned a lot from white guys like Steve Marriott who obviously learned a lot from the great American blues guys).

MORE CBC LEFTIST HYPOCRISY:
Today the federal Conservatives passed a law that prevents killers who are convicted to a life sentence for murder from asking for early parole under the previous “faint hope clause.”
It’s interesating to watch and or listen to the CBC and Radio Canada refer to “The Conservative Government,” (Fr: Le Gouvernement Conservateur,) when they want to bash the government. In the media, the proper term should be “The Government of Canada,” (FR: Le Gouvernement du Canada,) Of course the bleeding hearts oppose the new legislation.
So let’s place pessimism aside. I live in Saskatchewan. When convicted killer Colin Thatcher tried to get early release under the faint hope clause a few years ago, the bleeding hearts opposed his request. At every opportunity, the CBC ran stories against Thatcher. Keep in mind that Thatcher’s crime against his ex was one of passion, he is (was) unlikely to reoffend.
Today, the same bleeding hearts that cried out against Thatcher’s early release are crying out against the new law.
Conclusion: Bleeding hearts greatly lack logic!
Yes, well, probably that’s because logic is a function of the brain (at least in humans), not the heart; the latter being a fluid pump, and thus, bleeding or not, incapable of the former. It’s sort of like the CBC, Jack. Logically, you don’t want to watch it. But emotionally, in your bleeding heart, you stare at it like a gawker at a roadside traffic fatality. Fortunately, I am immune to that malady.

The End of Americaâs Strategic Alliance with Israel? [Caroline Glick]
From an Israeli perspective, Pres. Barack Obamaâs speech today in Cairo was deeply disturbing. Both rhetorically and programmatically, Obamaâs speech was a renunciation of Americaâs strategic alliance with Israel.
Rhetorically, Obamaâs sugar coated the pathologies of the Islamic world â from the tyranny that characterizes its regimes, to the misogyny, xenophobia, Jew hatred, and general intolerance that characterizes its societies. In so doing he made clear that his idea of pressing the restart button with the Islamic world involves erasing the moral distinctions between the Islamic world and the free world.

Jeffrey Simpsonâs offering in the Globe and Mail today under the headline âThe Harper legacy: Politics is war â:
… âOnly a party that raises large sums of money can afford television ads between elections, and the Conservatives are the masters of fundraising.â
‘Said sneeringly, as though it would be OK for the Liberals to run negative ads but, poor guys, theyâre poor. He doesnât dig any deeper into why the Conservatives are âmasters of fundraisingâ and the Liberals most certainly arenât. He declines to make the connection between genuine grassrootsâ support across Canada for the CPC and the elitism of the LPC who, frankly, donât appeal to grassrootsâ Canadians but to the latte, white-wine crowd (Simpson references this in his article) and to immigrant voter blocks.
âThe ads reflect the Harper idea/ideal that politics is a never-ending war in which no quarter is asked or taken. No stoop is really too low for the Harper Conservatives. âŚâ
WHAT DRIVEL!
The Liberals are the perpetrators par excellence of the attack ad, whether during or between elections. As has been pointed out many times, the so-called political ânewsâ and commentary from the CBC, CTV, Global, the TorStar, Globe and Mail, etc. are non-stop attacks on Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his party. And, the Liberals don’t have to pay a penny; these attack ads are completely free.

This may be way OT, but, just watched some of the D-Day Commemoration ceremonies and found it interesting and a bit insulting to me as a Canadian, that the chorus who sang the respective national anthems sang O Canada completely in French, yet sang “God Save The Queen” and “Star Spangled Banner” in English. Those racist bastards!
Yeah, but Harper was mouthing along “God keep our land…” in English!
‘Surprised me too, franinsaskatoon.
At least Prime Minister Stephen Harper gave his speech in French and English. He was eloquent in both languages.

Ontario should eliminate its human rights commissions and tribunals, according to Randy Hillier, one of four candidates vying for the leadership of the province’s Progressive Conservatives.

“The Cairo disaster
David Warren
When a politician announces, at the beginning of a major speech, that he is going to be entirely honest with you, you should stop trying to protect your wallet. For it is time to defend your soul.
This aphorism occurred as I listened to the opening of Barack Obamaâs major speech in Cairo. As I have argued previously, he is not an honest man but, instead, a demagogue. He plays games with reality in the course of weaving his rhetorical spells. To be clear: he is no Hitler, no Mussolini, with some vision of national or racial glory, cynically manipulating the crowds to purposes that are ultimately violent. Far from that.
Nor is he a Trudeau, precisely, with an inner contempt for the people he is pledged to serve, and his own agenda to put past them. I do not even think Obama suffers from the vanity of Trudeau, who may actually have imagined himself to be some sort of âphilosopher king.â
Obamaâs is a different, more insidious vanity. He acknowledges his rhetorical gift as a gift, but imagines the solutions to problems coalesce of their own accord in his presence. He is President Orpheus, the âpoet king,â transforming nature with his music. The German weekly, Die Zeit, expressed this perfectly in a headline: âI am a dream!â
It is the failure to acknowledge hard realities that makes Obama dangerous. As a wise Texan of my acquaintance put it, âhe is attempting to model himself on Abraham Lincoln, the Great Emancipator. But, itâs with a twist. He sees himself as the Great Mediator â the One who will step into every conflict around the globe, bring to bear his superior intelligence and teleprompted eloquence, and leave the parties in a warm embrace.â
Another old friend, the errant âneoconâ David Frum, explained what is shocking in that Cairo speech: to find an American president no longer mediating domestic American conflicts, but rather, those between his own country and some of her deadliest enemies. This may be presented as âreaching outâ but, in practice, it leaves his own side unchampioned, unrepresented, and in the end, undefended.
Moreover, he is playing this game with a childâs understanding of the history and the stakes.
The Cairo speech is loaded with historical howlers.”

Here in have-not Ontario, there are 4 candidates vieing for the leadership of the P.C.’s. voting complete June 25th. 2, Hillier and Hudak promote elimination of Ont. HRC. 2, Elliot and Klees promote modifying existing policy to only the original purpose, discrimination in Housing, work and ETC. and eliminating it as a tool for special interest groups who are “hurt” by speech or writings. Elimination hands a club to the LIbs. and NDP who slaughtered the PC.s on faith based education funding.
I suspect that the Obamas didn’t accept the Sarkozy’s invitation to dinner because it might be difficult for them to hold their own, intellectually that is.
I suspect that that’s why Barak Obama is a “lone wolf,” an “observer.” He’s spent much of his life observing, seeing how things are done, practising in front of the mirror, and doing a pretty good job of imitating how an intellectual leader comports himself.
Without the speech writers, however, and the teleprompter, he finds it pretty difficult to keep up the facade.

“Recovery is still taking root despite job numbers
Canada’s unemployment rate shot up by nearly half a percentage point in May to an 11-year high, hitting 8.4 per cent. The country lost 41,800 jobs. Terrible news, right?
Wrong. It’s certainly bad news for those hit by the 47,000 jobs lost in Ontario factories, notably in the auto industry, but for most industries and most provinces, the job market is still healing.
That’s hard to perceive right now because at turning points in the economy, there’s so much contradictory news that it can be difficult to see what’s really happening. This is one of those times.
On the surface, Canada’s job market took another big lurch for the worse in May after having shown a single hopeful month of improvement in April, when it created new jobs for the first time in six months.
But under the surface, the steady stabilization of job conditions continues. You just have to look at the numbers carefully.”

“Canada’s job market not as bad as it seems: economists
OTTAWA – Continuing job losses that pushed the unemployment rate to an 11-year high of 8.4 per cent in May are masking a new truth about Canada’s labour market, say economists: it’s not nearly as bad as it seems.
Experts point out that the net job loss of 41,800 positions last month was almost entirely a result of turmoil in Ontario’s auto sector and centred in Ontario.
“The most intriguing feature of this report,” said Doug Porter, deputy chief economist at BMO Capital Markets, “is its extreme laserlike focus on one sector and one province.
“Outside of the jobs lost in Ontario manufacturing, employment was effectively stable in the rest of the country in most sectors and provinces.”
As a result, eight out of 10 provinces actually posted job gains in May, Statistics Canada reported.”
