  1. It was only a few months ago that it was unacceptable to question anybody’s patriotism. How times have changed. The “best” jokes of the evening were directed against Limbaugh, Cheney, Palin, and Republicans in general. Nothing about talking “Austrian,” the flip-flop on military tribunals, the lack of a plan for resettlement of the Gitmo prisoners, the unimaginable deficit spending, etc.
    Obama’s “jokes” about himself are always in reference to others’ worship of him. Hail to The Narcissist-in-Chief.

    Could you imagine the CNN headlines if that happened with Bush? “W mocks drug addictions and laughs at kidney disease.” Olberman’s head would explode in glee.

  3. Liberals and Democrats listen to about half of what Rush says. Its amusing because what Wanda Sykes said was exactly wrong. What he said was he hopes Obama fails, because his policy is wrongheaded and America succeeds. She twisted it to sound like he wanted America to fail. Honestly the more I look, the more I see Kwame Kilpatrick in the whitehouse. The sooner he’s gone the better. I hope it doesn’t get like Canada down here, where you had to have a French Quebecer leading your party to win. That would be the death of the United States.

  6. On the CNN show Reliable Sources, one of the panellist said much of the routine was ‘over the line.’
    Joe Klein of TIME Magazine drew an equivalence that alll comedy is entertainment and since Rush calls himself an entertainer, much of his stuff also goes over the line.
    Rush became a target for the administration when had the outcome of the Chrysler deal nailed down back in December, that is the UAW’s 55% stake in the company handed to them.
    It was about that time that attack dogs like Rahm Emmanuel came out with the ‘Rush is the de facto leader of the Republican Party’ BS.
    Fact is, Rush did nail down the fact last December that Obama’s decisions all favour the body that gave him the most financial support. Big Labour.
    He’s also laid out the outcome of the GM deal, which will see the UAW taking a 39% ownership stake in the company after Obama fired the president of GM.
    Rush’s credibility on the facts has drawn larger and larger audiences, as well as doubling his advertising revenue.
    There’s no question Obama is converting his country into the USSA and the angry left is trying, but will not succeed, in taking him down.

    But, I thought Obama’s crack that his daughters were grounded, for taking ‘that’ ride over Manhatten in Airforce One was totally disgusting!

  9. Once again Obama demonstrates that he has no class whatsoever. Right from the moment of his inaugural, when he took cheap shots at Bush in his address, he’s shown time & time again that he simply doesn’t grasp that the President of the United States is expected to behave with a certain amount of decorum.
    Even Slick Willy wouldn’t have stooped to those kind of jokes.
    2013 can’t come soon enough.

    Was that a smattering of boos during those obnoxious statements? I know this was a love-in for BamBam, but I’m sure my ears still work.
    If this is an indication of the level of intelligence in the DemocRAT party, then they’re in trouble in the next elections.
    The incredible rise in Limbaugh’s ratings and revenues should put fear into the DemocRAT’s. But instead they will write it off, as usual.
    I hope CNN goes in the dumper. That network is a shadow of what it once was. Can hardly stand to watch the trash they have on there, whether it’s CNN proper “No Bull, No Bias” (riiiiiiiiiight!), or Headline News, and it’s focus now on replacing the National Enquirer and Star! as a driveby media source.

  15. Amazing what you see when lefties joke together. He should have walked out when she started doing jokes about 9/11. But I guess he’s used to hearing this stuff at his ex-church.
    Maybe John McCain was an old man, but at least he held a few things sacred, like defending his country.

    And Obama thinks it’s funny to hope someone’s kidneys fail… doesn’t he know that that’s often fatal?
    These “progressives”… so hateful, and shockingly so.
    They deserve our harsh condemnation.
    Normal people (conservatives) don’t go around saying they want people to die of failing organs. Unless they’re talking about the likes of Osama bin Laden, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Karla Homolka, Paul Bernardo, Hu Jintao… all murderously evil people whose time in Hell can’t come too soon.
    Obama is a sick, sick, immoral man, and so is that hateful Sykes.

  21. The Owe does not know how to react, he does not understand American comedy.
    This ‘line’ mumbled out by that poor fool, in this clip, was not funny, it was grade school ‘poop’ ‘toilet bowl’ comedy that makes grade schoolers howl with glee. It is designed to ‘shock’ adults because it is so disgusting (in the mind of the ‘jester’). ‘Potty’ humour is sometimes funny, if it is attempted by a five year old, because the five year old is such a picture of ridiculous ‘defiance’ – most adults know enough not to laugh with the child – that type of reaction makes the juvenile jester lose all respect for that adult and civilized behavior.
    The ‘potty mouth’ past the age of 7 or 8 is revolting – laughing with the ‘potty mouth’ is doing no child any favor. It often provides some good laughs for adults after the offender is out of hearing range though.
    The Owe is reacting to ‘potty humour’ in the manner that a foreigner would be expected to react – laugh with the crowd!
    A few years ago when some friends and I were in Europe, we met a Swede. This young man spoke perfect English and he was traveling alone, so he tagged along with us for awhile in Greece. We got pretty sick of him after a time because we felt that he had absolutely no sense of humour. We confronted him with this one day and he said that he didn’t understand our jokes because he had learned English in Sweden; he only understood Swedish humour, he explained, because had never lived in an English speaking country.
    He had no common terms of reference for our jests. We had never thought of that!! Sure made us feel ignorant.
    I think that the Owe is suffering from the same problem that our Swedish friend had – he does not understand American humour. A person has to be a native of a nation to understand the humour of the native people. This, of course, does not excuse this lapse of judgement; the fellow is the President; even if he is way out of his depth he should know better than to laugh with the likes of this gal and her blatant ‘potty humour’ on the clip. It was way past subtitle.

  25. That line was about as funny as Tina Faye’s comment regarding Sarah Palin’s supposed quote – “I can see Russia from my house…” during the recent campaign. Unfortunately, a huge number of voters get their info from (so called) comediens. (A reflection on the media and their mounting irrelevence, but that is for another post.) I think she was probably fed the ‘line’ by someone in the White House just as a continuation of their mindless marginalization of anything and everything that is anti-Obama. Corruption? Yeah!

  40. Meh, it’s a joke in bad taste. I say who cares really, it’s not all that surprising considering the venue and crowd it was delivered to. Rush’s phone abortions aren’t exactly a joke in great taste, although I find the idea absolutely hilarious. What Sykes said wasn’t classy in the least but she is a comedian, and I’ve seen some previous stand up of hers, her entire MO is to be
    edgy/bitchy/rude to the point of hyperbole. In fact, look at most stand-up these days, shock value gets harder laughs then well thought out, nuanced and subtle humour any day of the week.
    Look at Family Guy, ya, lots of the jokes are low class and potty humour certainly, but I still think that show is highly entertaining. One might say you watch Family Guy knowing what you’re going to get. One must apply the same logic to Wanda Sykes at the correspondent’s dinner.
    That being said, absolutely Zero’s reaction was lacking dignity, and for sure the MSM would have lacerated Bush for similar behaviour, but I again ask: And you’re surprised?

    Yeah, whatever. Not defending Sykes here, but there are plenty of really funny American comics. The thing about funny is though, that it is cultural, so sometimes outsiders don’t see it. I always like the New Yorker cartoon where one hyena says to another “then he started telling cheetah jokes and I laughed so hard a bone came out my nose.”
    These guys simply don’t view half of the country as part of the American nation. Obama agrees with them.

  45. There’s a healthy number of excellent American comics out there, of whom quite a few don’t even use profanity in their routine.
    One good example of four great comedians are the Redneck Comedy Tour movies, filmed live in various cities. It would be hard to beat the combination of Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Ron White
    On the other hand, I doubt the “Sykes/vulgar” gang would laugh at them, except that they think “rednecks” are funny, period.
    I see this less as a “liberal” thing than as an example of unresolved values. I think a large number of those who consider themselves liberal have rarely been challenged, ethically, the last 30 years. At least the conservatives took some time to re-examine their beliefs after a couple decades of getting spanked by the Democrats, concluding with Goldwater’s ’64 debacle.
    What we need is a “liberal Archie Bunker” for the new century. 🙂
