Cut the bureaucracy and send the money saved to me and every one of the 3.5 million Albertans … say $1,500 per man, woman and child.

As far as ‘Edmonton and Calgary’ thinking they are the centers of universe, they are wrong!. It’s still the rural vote that puts the government in place in Alberta. I emailed the premiere’s office, hoping to get an answer as to the reasoning of the support of the human rights commission and the reasoning behind the punishment of the Red Deer pastor who is not allowed to talk about certain topics and essentially being denied freedom of speech. I’ve been watching for a long time this country as a whole going down the toilet all in the name of modern society, and as a father of two young children I realize I need to be more proactive in determining my children’s future. Alberta used to known as the texas of the north, bunch of rough and tough cowboys who get things done. Are we going to sit back and meekly accept things, or are we going to demand positive action? That’s my rant for the day

When I say we, I am not referring to skin colour, that’s a pretty shallow assumption to make, I say we as albertans. If you read what I said, I emailed the premier’s office and left my name and address therefor singling myself out. I talk to a lot of people everyday and I take it upon myself to educate people on the finer points of what freedom really is. I’m being proactive, if you know of something else I can and should be doing, by all means, I’m open for suggestions. I do ask that you don’t attempt to turn this into some kind of race debate. As for me and my house, we will restrict our political activities to documenting the decline of western civilization, we are observers, not participants. I don’t think Canadians deserve to be saved, they’ve got exactly the government they deserve, so I won’t lift a finger for meaningful change, other than to boycott anti-conservative businesses and people in my day to day life. No more donations to AIDS research, no opening doors for women where feasible, no doing business with Liberal-linked ethnic businesses.

To answer the question, the Canadian government doesn’t consider women persons, why should I? They can’t enter into contracts (see prenup jurisprudence), they can’t be punished for crimes, they need employment equity training wheels to make it in the workplace and academia; why on Earth would I regard them as equal to men? It’s not that *I* think they are inferior per se, it’s that the government believes that. Who am I to argue?

I’m not the only one who’s noticed.
Ed Stelmach is the only Alberta premier in my lifetime who has been taking active steps to revitalize rural Alberta. But who cares about that, eh?
In general, I find people who are angry with him have a hard time seeing past the city limits of Edmonton and Calgary.
I don’t like the HRC any better than anyone else, and I can see why Ezra is frustrated, but its time will come.
Revitalize rural Alberta? How is actively running the oil company’s out of Alberta gonna revitalize anything? Stelmack has been a unmidigated disaster. To bad Ted Morton never walked and put the red progressive conservatives under years ago. Let the liberals have the conservative party. Although I fear Alberta’s time came and went with Klein. Wildrose party is the province’s only hope.

Urban prophecies of obliteration before the last election and it all came to what? Why? Because Ed Stelmach spent his early years as a rural county reeve and he has been steadily making changes that make it possible for rural municipalities to make it easier to exist in rural Alberta.
The truth is, if Ezra Levant wants to rankle Albertans about this issue…and I mean rankle them enough to oust the current government… he’s going about it all wrong.
Blog posts and book signings are fine for targeting some Albertans, but it’s not until he starts hosting evening town hall meetings full of old men and women in the ridings outside Edmonton and Calgary that a stink of any lasting impact will start raining down on the AHRC. Those old farmers will come steaming out of the Elks Lodge and phone everyone they know and get them steamed and they will all write or phone threatening to pull their memberships/donations etc, etc.
There are a lot of Albertans who don’t blog and believe it or not they spend almost NO time thinking about the HRC. Zilch.
Ezra Levant taking a very urban approach to lobbying on this issue and now he’s seeing how well that works in Alberta. He can yark about Ed Stelmach all he wants but the majority of working Albertans simply don’t care about this issue right now because they don’t know about it…I don’t care how many copies of his book he’s sold at a Calgary Chapters.
The Alberta government will move on this when it matters to the majority of the voting base. And the message obviously isn’t getting to them because in my daily conversations almost nobody knows about Ezra’s mission or the free speech/HRC problems.
Again, I hate the HRC, but to expect a politician to jump into a controversial subject when most people aren’t hopped up about it is a bit much.

I’m not the only one who’s noticed.
Ed Stelmach is the only Alberta premier in my lifetime who has been taking active steps to revitalize rural Alberta. But who cares about that, eh?
In general, I find people who are angry with him have a hard time seeing past the city limits of Edmonton and Calgary.
I don’t like the HRC any better than anyone else, and I can see why Ezra is frustrated, but its time will come.
Revitalize rural Alberta? How is actively running the oil company’s out of Alberta gonna revitalize anything? Stelmack has been a unmidigated disaster. To bad Ted Morton never walked and put the red progressive conservatives under years ago. Let the liberals have the conservative party. Although I fear Alberta’s time came and went with Klein. Wildrose party is the province’s only hope.
Exactly, wuberman. It’s tough to know what’s going on outside the city limits. And that’s OK. I suppose it’s difficult to think of there being anything outside Edmonton & Calgary besides oil wells.
Urban prophecies of obliteration before the last election and it all came to what? Why? Because Ed Stelmach spent his early years as a rural county reeve and he has been steadily making changes that make it possible for rural municipalities to make it easier to exist in rural Alberta.
The truth is, if Ezra Levant wants to rankle Albertans about this issue…and I mean rankle them enough to oust the current government… he’s going about it all wrong.
Blog posts and book signings are fine for targeting some Albertans, but it’s not until he starts hosting evening town hall meetings full of old men and women in the ridings outside Edmonton and Calgary that a stink of any lasting impact will start raining down on the AHRC. Those old farmers will come steaming out of the Elks Lodge and phone everyone they know and get them steamed and they will all write or phone threatening to pull their memberships/donations etc, etc.
There are a lot of Albertans who don’t blog and believe it or not they spend almost NO time thinking about the HRC. Zilch.
Ezra Levant taking a very urban approach to lobbying on this issue and now he’s seeing how well that works in Alberta. He can yark about Ed Stelmach all he wants but the majority of working Albertans simply don’t care about this issue right now because they don’t know about it…I don’t care how many copies of his book he’s sold at a Calgary Chapters.
The Alberta government will move on this when it matters to the majority of the voting base. And the message obviously isn’t getting to them because in my daily conversations almost nobody knows about Ezra’s mission or the free speech/HRC problems.
Again, I hate the HRC, but to expect a politician to jump into a controversial subject when most people aren’t hopped up about it is a bit much.

It is unfortunate, but true, that one man did it. All it took was an ignorant, arrogant pig farmer of low intelligence to bring down Canada’s economic powerhouse, and in record time. From powerhouse to pauper in record time. Time for this socialist to go back to what he knows best… whatever that is.
