    Hello Elizabeth, you wrote today in the Star “Last year, my family in Toronto reported the pleasant surprise of how many neighbours had also lit candles for their dinner hour.”
    Elizabeth, candles are made of paraffin, refined from crude oil. All (100%) of the CO2 released is fossil, over 90% of the energy is wasted as heat instead of light. Worse, the burning of paraffin, its additives and the metal base holding the wick sends in the air a wide variety of indoor pollutants, some very dangerous (a few links below).
    On the other hand, electricity produced by NS Power is so far 20% renewable and improving, is cleaner, more efficient and safer inside your home.
    Please Elizabeth, if you want to convince smart people, stop saying stupid things. Sincerely,
