    Like how do you all know what these individuals are protesting?
    I’ve been to protests and it’s not exactly MY responsibility to calm down some hoodlum who just wants to break shit or maim a cop car. Is it?
    I am not authorized, I do not have the right to use force, and I am not backed up obviously if the crowd thinks I’m the new enemy and decides to break something of mine.
    I think these guys breaking stuff are unknowns at this point. If you guys think its Muslim immigrants that don’t know how to be civil, then the burden of proof is sort of on you in my mind. If you think these vandals are somehow representative of ALL immigrants, or are reflective of ALL recent Muslims then you have to make a better case. Or even make a case for that matter. Because only those who already share your bias might understand the basis for your assertions.

    I notice all the side slipping here—always disappointing to me—re our own Judeo-Christian dispensation. Believe me, our present woes have everything to do with throwing out this fine heritage, which required high standards of personal and community behaviour.
    One didn’t/doesn’t need to be a Christian or Jew to respect the Ten Commandments. However, when those rules were generally respected by civilized people, Western civilization inculcated self-control in the individual, with the understanding that the individual was not the be-all and end-all of life, the sorry state to which we’ve now descended, as batb notes as well.     They’re outside the tennis stadium where the Israel vs. Sweden match is being played in front of empty bleachers.
    The bleachers are empty because the government decided not to allow spectators.
    They decided not to allow spectators because there were lots of death threats and lots of Leftist and Muslim organizations vowed to shut the match down. They wanted to avoid a riot. Oops. Well, at least the riot happened outside where there’s less stuff to break. Or burn down.
    So, there’s a pretty good chance the violent @ssholes breaking the cop vehicles were Leftists and/or radical Muslims demonstrating against Israel. Hard to tell what with the masks and all.

    That being said, if the protests you attended were in Canada, you’re right. You’re not “authorized” to interfere with a vandal destroying public or private property, not even if its -your- property. Indeed, if you attempt to interfere with the vandals, you will be arrested.   16. Babt and Lookout, I completely agree with your sentiments as they very much reflect my own with a few variants in the history. Christianity was rapidly fading as a societal foundation by WW II. However the real question is what are we as Christians doing to re-establish Christianity as a cornerstone in our present world? As a community we speak with too many disparate voices each claiming to speak the whole truth. Each voice doing what it can to inveigle adherents through religious baubles and beads all the while leaving out the intellectual underpinnings of Christianity thus leaving the field wide open to the worshipers of death and destruction.
    Jesus said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”. Unfortunately we can’t seem to get all three aspects of our personality in sync with this precept. We attempt to love Him with our heart as an emotional response rather than an act of will and so forget the wisdom contained in Him. We seek the wisdom and then duck the persecution that inevitably follows. Distracted by the ‘shinies’ of this world we are content with another cup of thinnest spiritual gruel to sate our hunger for Truth.
    Speaking personally I choose to light a candle instead of cursing the dark. In my own feeble way I attempt, with the Grace given me, to convert one soul at a time. What we as Christians need to realize is that the enemy (Islam, Secular Humanism, Scientism) is a house of cards that maintains itself through intimidation, bluff and bravado.

    There are approximately 600,000 – 700,000 Muslims in Canada. Half in Toronto. Islamofascist organizations such as CAIR are constantly inflating numbers as propaganda to build political clout. For example, CAIR consistently states that there are 7 million Muslims in the US. However, PEW research has published data showing 2.2 million. And of those, most are Nation of Islam. A different sect than the dominant Sunnis, but not necessarily less violent, RE: the zebra killings in S.F.
    The same can be said about the imaginary 1.4 billion Muslims in the world, when only last year there were 1.2. It’s all part of the intimidation – stealth jihad tactics incorporated into the ‘world’s fastest growing religion’ propaganda.

    In this case, the law was a total, ineffectual, despicable ass. Passing off law “enforcement” (sic) to Muslims is a cop-out on the part of the Swedes and has basically given the message to the fanatical Islamists that they’ve won. Now, they’ll simply escalate their protests. At what point WILL the law step in to restrain them? That’s their job, that’s what they’re trained to do and paid to do, and they’re not doing it. They are not protecting the public from violence. Again, the radical Islamists have won and democracy, once again, has lost.
    Read Bruce Bauer’s book “While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within.” It covers most of the issues we’re discussing here — except, unfortunately, lookout, one of the main reasons why Europe fell alseep; we’ll continue to be voices crying in the wilderness but we are in good company! Bauer talks a lot about accommodation and cowardice.

    1) Let’s start with the basic uncalled for and unintelligent name calling – specifically terms such as “knuckle draggers”, “dolts”, “dipsticks”, “shitheads”, “losers”, “brainless”, “waste of skin”, “Neanderthals”, “morons”, ……….To list a few without remarking on the occasional less child like insults such as “self-righteous egos” ………
    2) Make unbelievably false arguments and misdirect the comments with nonsense such as “you have no way of knowing who’s behind those masks, or what their agenda is”.
    3) Attempt to trash the blog site you have invaded and indeed are not wanted by labeling it as “hate mongering” and “racist” – make sure you throw in at least one reference to Nazi’s (as you did above). Along with “Islamofacist bashing site”.
    4) Criticize everyone else for trying to silence your illogical arguments when that is exactly what you are attempting to accomplish.
    5) Insure the direction of the thread becomes completely self absorbed so that you can write a final self sympathetic obituary with plenty of “Me, me, me, me’s” and “I, I, I, I, I’s”.
    6) Give the illusion that your reasonable and sane by referring to words like “debate” and “discussion” as if you actually had any real intention of giving or having one. Repeat this claim frequently so that others not paying full attention believe that this is your real objective and that you are providing the only reasoned voice.
