Perhaps I am equating it to my anecdotal experience with playing the piano after playing stringed and woodwind instruments to a decent level. Playing the piano was a finger gymnastic exercise, and the most I could develop was laughter at my perfomance and the music(Gr. VIII R.T.C.M.).
The piano is so deficient of “legato” or the “singing voice” … just tapping white bars and black tabs to get tinkling sounds. It is a good technical foundation to all music and instruments … but truly musical to the musician??? … hmmmmmm
I suppose the end product is artistic … like artistic drawings, paintings, sculptures … but unfortunately, I couldn’t establish an intimate, loving relationship to the beastly piano … maybe the string plucking harpsicord ….LOL
