Funny You Should Mention That, Bob

What’s good enough for the country is good enough for the Liber… oh, wait.

Noting that only two Liberal MP’s were elected between North Bay, Ontario and Vancouver, Rae argues a simple vote of the Commons caucus would exclude Liberals in huge chunks of the country from participating in the selection of the party’s next leader.

Greg Staples notes the irony as well;

We are supposed to believe that Mr Rae is comfortable with being one who would anoint themselves to pick a new leader, of the country no less, but is uncomfortable in doing that within his own party.

Check out ProgressiveBloggers.ca for people who favour the coaliton going batty over Ignatieff being installed as the interim leader of the Liberals …

Liblogs are a barrel of fun this morning, too.

  1. “This all seems so obvious. Will someone ask Layton and the others about this contradiction? I’d love to hear the answer.

Of course it’s obvious, but you won’t hear any reasonable answer from the left.”
In fact, I’m more interested in hearing the question asked than in hearing the answer — though I’m sure the answer would be pretty entertaining. Anyway, somebody has to call them out if they stooges are going to start using this title.

  2. The most interesting thing about all the hoopla in this blog is:
the backbone of the west (oil and gas and the industry that supplies the spin off elements)is almost dead this winter. Here in Provost very few people have gone to work. Tempco has 2 rigs out. Gray the water and vacuum hauler have very few trucks out, the companies requiring medics are desperate trying to get one contract. Thinks are slow almost stopping. So if you have such a great following and Harper’s ear, please plead with him to help us put some food on te table and some shelter over our heads.
It is a very difficult time on oil/gas country.
All this retoric is fine and dandy but we are all suffering with the price of a barrel being so low.
The de-leveraging of the infamous financial banksters is getting the dollar high and the price of oil to the dumps.
I don’t care who is in power, they are all against us and in favour of the rich, which is fine by me. I have no control over anything, but after 30 years working on the oil and gas, the only other time was this bad was around the NEP times.
So people need to live and cannot survive winter without heat and food.

  3. If any one is interested in how the demonstration on Parliamnet Hill Monday in support of the Conservative government went it was met with alot of hardship and misery. With windchills around minus 30 tractors and equipment had frozen fuel lines and many didn’t make it off the floats…they were froze up and wouldn’t start. Around 150 souls braved the bone chilling cold on the Hill and Conservative MP’s O’Connor, Reid and Lemieux came out to speak to the crowd.
Regardless the message was delivered that rural Ontario supports the Conservative government.
As far as the media was concerned they gave almost no coverage and in fact more coverage was given to a small group of old hippie types called “Raging Grannies” who demonstrated the day before about global warming.
Thank you Kate!! SDA is the place to visit and be heard!
