Prime Minister Invites Provincial Premiers and Territorial Leaders to a First Ministers Meeting on the Economy
Building on the productive discussions of that meeting, Prime Minister Harper issued an invitation today to Canada’s Provincial Premiers and Territorial Leaders for a follow-up First Ministers’ Meeting, to be held onJanuary 16, 2009. This day-long meeting will be accompanied by a session with Aboriginal Leaders on economic development opportunities for Aboriginal Canadians.

Dion hasn’t said much of anything in the past hour as far as I can tell… I’m streaming CPAC though…
Here is an excerpt from Licia Corbella’s Calgary Herald blog:
“To cut to the chase, in 2007-08, the Bloc and its candidates were reimbursed by Ottawa for 50 per cent of their election expenses, and the party itself received federal per-vote subsidies based on the 1.5 million votes they received in the 2006 election.
Conclusion: The rest of Canada had funded separatism to the tune of $5,970,311. And what were the separatists prepared to cough up for their francophone destiny in that 18-month period? Just $503,676.”

Dion is out of focus, literally.
He also failed to disclose that the coalition includes the Bloc, with veto.
In a moment of sheer insanity, Craig Oliver reminded the Count that the Bloc holds veto power, even while the Count was trying to downplay the effectiveness of the Bloc.
Perfect moment to role tape of Parizeau’s earlier gloating.
Ugh-ohhhhhh, looks like Dijon couldn’t trust the cameraman, and videoed his speech by himself!!
Forgot to focus on his face, but the bookshelf is nice and sharp. Sounded too as if he decided to “wing it” with his speech.
Prime Minister? my ass!!
Stephane Dion, Canada’s Funniest Home Video!
I guess everybody saw “Hot Air” displayed prominently top left?! Hilarious optics all the way around..
manny

PMSH was rite, and it would be rite this time as well, but that ain’t the topic, nor the intent of the stooges

ON CBC TV News tonight, Premier Doer was cornered and finally commented, saying he expected harper to remain in office and host the January meetings. So someone knows something it seems.
ive been toying with the idea of running a branch of the the BQ in Alberta.
If we could send enough BQ members to Ottawa we could guarantee skidding Quebec. they have no desire to use their threats for anything but a squeeze play for more equalization.
Now now manny…don’t make me tell your daddy to wash your little potty-mouth out with soap.
Go play with your toys…adults are talking here.
I watched Global than shut it off in distaste after some Academic MOON almost had a stroke trying to tell us all how stupid we are not knowing this is perfectly legal, with it’s the best thing for Canada blah blah. This is really just hunky dory, all lit up in Democracy was his message. No mention of course of the morality , Ethics, Separatists, with all the rest. Not even the tape that seems to show they planned this before the election.
The bulk of the comments herein provide the perfect example of the truly undemocratic tendencies of the Radical Left: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/12/02/f-vp-spector.html
Here’s a typical one (such brain surgeons on the forums there at CBC News!) :
“We don’t need another expensive election to add to our financial woes. blah blah blah more leftard blah blah blah”

Truly amazing ‘useful idiots’ out there. Thanks for sharing, Robert. I’m really getting tired of hearing this “Canadians don’t want an election” business over the last 4 years. And, I’m especially tired of the fact it seems to be true. I’ve never understood this sentiment.
Casting a vote is the ultimate act of political power for the Canadian citizen. Is 20-30 minutes out of your day (at most) that onerous? Is keeping up with current events to be informed so difficult?
What is it with large segments of the Canadian populace that seems to think elections are some kind of inconvenience to be avoided at all costs? It amazes me to no end that such a way of thinking exists at all, let alone among large pockets of the Canadian electorate.
Elections should be welcomed. Yes, it’s unfortunate that in our system of democracy we have these times of political instability. But, dammit, we should all be willing, nay, OBLIGED, to remain reasonably informed of current events and, when called upon, to cast a ballot to resolve such uncertainty! Whether it is once every 5 years, once every 5 months matter not. Basic civic duty should not allow for any such thought as, “I don’t feel like an election right now.” If one is needed, so be it.
It’s a small price to pay for freedom, and the economic strength that accompanies democratically-provided liberty.
While Harper meets with the Premiers with Natives & others for Canada. Mean while. The “Separatist run Coalition” will be meeting with there bankers. All thee little piggish gnomes together for themselves.
This is a violation of the fundamental principles of our constitutional democracy.

An excellent quote manny. One that would accurately describe an unholy alliance handing veto power to the Bloc. Veto power over all bills, including money, spending and taxation. The Bloc, a party whose raison d’etre is the disintegration of Canada, and is unaccountable to 4 out of every 5 Canadian voter.
So, shut the hell up when spouting off about fundamental principles of democracy. I can think of no more offense to democracy than the soft totalitarianism being peddled by Duceppe and company. They’ll have a say in the collection and spending of MY TAX DOLLARS, yet I will have no way to hold them accountable. Sod off, you leftard git.
$300 million spent on an election would be a stimulus, wages for temp workers, advertising, printers, sign makers, storefront rentals.

Actually, we say “iberia” so as not to dignify the name.
And back in manny’s alternate universe, he is trying to equate harper’s working with the blocheads to force an election on the liberals in the midst of actual government non-confidence (adscam) with the seditious move by the 3 stooges. That manny completely misses the point that these are apples & oranges is expected; that he (and the other left-droids) keep crowing about it is interesting to behold: unabashed ignorance and arrogance on full display.

THE SMOKING GUN;
****The Liberals were “plotting to seize power even before Canadians had their say at the polls” in the last election, Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Larry Miller charged Monday.
The Conservative MP issued a statement Monday in which he cited recent remarks by Liberal opponent Thom Noble, who placed third behind Green Party candidate Dick Hibma and Miller in the Oct. 14 election.
Noble said Friday that he was aware of coalition talk during the election campaign when asked about the potential defeat of the minority Conservative government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
“There was talk, we were told not to mention it,” Noble said during an interview. “If the numbers were higher, they were going to seek to form a coalition.” An attempt to contact Noble at his home Monday was unsuccessful.****
