FYI Kate there’s another poll gone horribly wrong at CTV.ca. And check out the lack of mention of the Bloc. Duly noted at my pithy web stop. š
Just checked out the financial markets. The Dow is having a pretty good day; up close to 250 points.
The TSX, on the other hand, is barely breaking even after having been down over 100 points.
This kind of divergence is generally rare.
But it has nothing to do with the coalition taking power, right?
Senator Elizabeth May will become the Minister of the Environment.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger sh!t eating grin in my life than the one Ellie May was sporting at her presser. She went on to caution PMSH about putting tanks on parliament hill….IDIOT!!!

For Toronto Area readers only:
CityTV’s phone poll: Do you think the coalition government would be undemocratic?
Yes: 416-870-2242
(IMPORTANT: If you’re outside of the “416 free dialling” area, calling this number will be a charged, long distance call.)
Thanks for that Andy. Called in my “yes” moments ago!
Anyone who thought Dion was just being stubborn when he refused to step down after the election want to rethink their answer?
This has been in the works for months, folks.
And why are they so certain that the GG will back them? You know they wouldn’t risk an election right now.

Elizabeth May as Environment Minister, snuck into the senate and borrowed into the cock-us?
Re the telephone poll (or any other input from the publik); do you seriously think the Troika cares?!
They smell power. They’re like dogs smelling a bitch in heat.
(I always found that a spray bottle filled with diluted ammonia cooled their ardor, real fast).
Just Trudeau is on CTV with Mike Duffy! He says that the coalition is necessary to bolster the strength of the economy. When ask about the seperatists, the said that they people should instead focus not on the Bloc members of the coalition, but rather the strong liberals who are fighting for the well being of Canadians.

Ezra Levant has a good take on this fiasco.

I have an unhealthy anger growing as a result of this, very emotional, kind of like a leftie.
Phoning into a Citytv poll is meaningless. Citytv Toronto is even more left wing than CBC… if that’s even possible.
I have CityOnline on TV now. Expect an avalance of calls supporting the coup plotters.
Breaking:
Elizabeth May Agrees with the Coalition & expects to have Say when the New Govt takes Control.
Senator May?
ctv
I reiterate: Call an election
Another poll on Global News:
Do you think Canada would be better served by a coalition government?
Yes
18.17 %
No
81.83 %
Stephen Taylor is on Citytv. “No one voted for Duceppe to tell Canadians who our next PM will be”.
Couldn’t have said it any better myself.

further Proof the Election was a Scam to all Canadians This Coalition was a Go from the drop of the Writ.
Stephane Dion: The weasel leader of a weasel coalition government.
And when I call Stephane Dion a weasel, I only mean that he is the weasliest weasel ever to weasel his weaselly way to weaseldom.
BREAKING via CTV and Duffy…
Lawrence Cannon has word that the Bloc will be offered 6 senate seats.
Stephen Taylor was interviewed on the CityTV telephone poll vox pop show via the Net. From what I saw while flipping around elsewhere (like seeing Justin get into bed with the Separatists talking to Duffy), almost all of the CityTV callers were against the coalition.
Current total for the phone poll (despite its “Proposition 8” pseudo-double-negative phrasing):
1,314 Yes, it’s undemocratic
1,163 No, it’s not undemocratic
I believe the phone poll is active all day long, so you might as well call even if you come to this thread later in the day.
I fear that Dion will appoint Liberal and NDP senators to fill the current vacancies. This will further delay any hope of reforming the Senate in my lifetime. Even if this coalition ultimately proves to be the death knell for the Liberal Party at the polls, they may be able to thwart good governance through the (very) Red Chamber.
Lets start a kick a leftie instead of a redhead
The electorate don’t vote for a government, they vote for a parliament. Parliament then forms a government. This rule allows for the coalition to form A GOVERNMENT because parliament has the right to do so. This is true because Harper had to ask the GG to form a government.
Now that Parliament is wanting to form another government, Harper disagrees with the process and will now start a campaign to “misinform” the canadian public.
Suck it up all u Large C conervatives you’ve been outplayed and outwitted by Dion and Layton.
Beardy;
Every heard of pyrrhic victories?
Congratulations to the marxists (Trojan horse Bob Rae among them). You and your ilk will be obliterated at the polls next time out.
Canadians have now seen the opportunism in the coalition of the losers.
Celebrate in the short time that you can.
Do the Liberals have short memories – or are they simply dishonest, arrogant, undemocratic traitors?
Does anybody else remember this ad from a few years back?
“Gilles Duceppe and Stephen Harper worked together to bring down the government. Lots of late night secret meetings. Apparently, they’re quite a team. Which is great. Because if Harper wins this election? He’ll have to work very, very closely with Duceppe. Unfortunately, their unity won’t do much for Canada’s unity.”
– election ad, paid for by the Liberal Party of Canada, January 2006.

Another 5000 scattered in associated groups.
The coalition side has maybe 2000 max.

On CKNW talk radio this morning, the sentiments are running 9 – 1 against Le Cabal de Trois. Yet there’s always that one … in this case it was an elitist liberal woman who said that the opposition to The Coalition is strictly “a bunch of radicals”.
If it’s “radical” to be outraged that the political will of Canadians is being discarded just 49 days after an election then I’m guilty.
If it’s “radical” to be outraged that a core part of this Unholy Alliance is the Bloc Quebecois, a party devoted to the destruction of Canada then I’m guilty.
If it’s “radical” to demand that another election be held to let Canadians decide whether their future should be determined by Dion as PM, Layton as Finance Minister, and Duceppe as Godfather then I’m guilty.

This is a little bit much to take so soon after the U. S. election. You’re killing me.
Rory, Lawrence Cannon on Mike Duffy also said that rumor has it that PQ leader Marois bragged to French reporters in Quebec that Duceppe has also squeezed another $1 billion more for Quebec in federal equalization payments from the Coalition of Liars and Thieves.
That would be in addition to the $16 billion Quebec already gets.
Western Canada doesn’t need to pay for crap like this anymore.
Western Canadians need to get on the talk shows and the blower and forcefully tell your Premiers that you want to stop all payments to federal equalization immediately if not sooner.
Tax revolt anyone?
Tax revolt? Please.
Westerners need to get up and leave the country. Sadly, the strong, earnest, and confident Johnny Canuck of yesteryear is ancient history.
A generation of being fed liberal pablum has made our nation and citizens soft, like the ‘perfesser. And allowed ghouls like Jack Layton who predate fears in the vulnerable, to gain power.
No rockyt, pay your taxes, and make the odd posting of opinion. Separatism and liberation for westerners is many years off.
Cowardice and sloth is the current Canadian oeuvre.
Tax revolt is right. Everyone should right now sign the forms to give to your employers NOT to withold the Federal tax from your paychecks.
You can then bank the amount you would owe a legitimate government in one of those new Tax Free Savings Accounts Harper brought in starting on Jan. 1st.
Also, move your accounts to provincial credit unions as I think our financial sector will be in calamity and the national lenders will be swamped with giving money to Quebec and Ontario.
Keep your money and your business money in your own province so they can lend locally.
Any other financial advice to build that notorious firewall so the rest of the country does not get r aped again ?
Stephane Dion is a poodle bitch.
The economic “disaster” facing Canada, and Harper’s inability to do anything about it, are the stated reason for the coalition’s non confidence in the house.
The economy is so endangered that only a coalition of the left can save it.
Not so endangered though, as to require austerity from these same coalition participants themselves, on the political party pay for vote scheme. The economy is also robust enough to weather civil servant strikes.
I guess the economy is in such dire straits that all Canadians must accept less, except for the so called white knight saviours and their union friends.

Economic disaster?
Canada’s GDP grew by 1.3% in the last quarter!
Further stimulation under those circumstances would lead to another economic evil: Inflation!
“No economic stimulus package” is NOT a legitimate argument because stimulus is not needed and at this juncture would be detrimental!
The only economic “disaster” that will result is if those 3.1 turds get their hands on the purse strings!
The other thing about the “economic disaster needing immediate attention” being crap is that we shouldn’t do anything until we know exactly what the new Obama Administration is going to be doing in the U.S. (our largest trading partner by far) and that won’t happen until after January 21st. It would be moronic to have a new budget including a huge-spending “economic stimulus” component now even if the sky was falling in Canada!
JUST WONDERING

Why doesn’t Iggy form a coalition inside the Liberal party with….say one ot two of the earlier candidates for Liberal leadership, and wrest the leadership from Dion! Show us how this works. Could be democratic?!?
**Do the Liberals have short memories – or are they simply dishonest, arrogant, undemocratic traitors?**
Ans: NO, on both counts.
They only seem that way because of their kindergarten level philosophy.
OT/ New idea coming into head. Here it is:
Is it possible that the Bloc is playing the Libs?
Makes sense to me, they can destroy their competitors by betraying the coalition, all the while gaining strength in Quebec.
Duceppe’s words MUST be troubling for Dion.
I think Iggy is pissed.
He’s the anglo leader of the Liberals that is being tossed aside by a losers (Dionites).
Long standing Liberal tradition is anglo/french swapping of leaders. Who was the last anglo liberal leader in power as a majority since the 50’s? No one!!
Since Louis St Laurent and the takeover by the labor lawyers of Quebec in the 1950s, we have been turned into a bunch of Frenchies.
Iggie knows this. I think his brain will collapse – you can see his heart isn’t in it.
I think we will see Iggie and his followers cross the floor or at least try to.
Several posters are referring to the next election a few months away at most. What if there isn’t a next election after this coup? What if these socialist turds enact legislation to have the date changed to at least five years from now?
Dion is given the PM post by his fellow traitors and then why should he give it up next May? He is now the PM and the Liberals are in power again and isn’t that what Liberals always want so why have a leadership change? The fact that the Bloc is calling the shots, a mere triffle.
If this coalition of these political thugs takes place Canada will be torn apart as it will go into an economic blackhole like we have never seen before. The decimation wreaked on Ontario by Rae will be a cloudy day by comparison. Yet we see the leftists, the CBC and the MSM all cheering the demise of our democracy like this is a good thing.
What’s next a visit by Chavez and the Russian fleet!
If Scott Reid can tell the coalition: Kill him (Harper) dead, I feel free to tell the three stooges: Eat shit and die!
Actually, if Scott Reid is telling the coalition to Kill Harper dead, then he’s uttering death threats against the Prime Minister and should be dealt with accordingly.
As for the coalition, I dont know what to root for, I really dont want to go door knocking in the snow because another election was called, but I certainly dont want those weasles screwing Alberta over yet even more.
Ontario wants to give Toronto to Quebec and separate with the west.
51 seats here went Conservative.
Anyway, even if this unlikely event happens, it will spell majorities for the Conservatives for many years to come.
There’s no reason Harper couldn’t fill the senate vacancies before any confidence vote.
As an aside. The British are the founding power of this nation, and as the french GG may decide to give it back to the French, can the Queen overrule her?
Here’s how the Radical Left in Toronto think:
Viewpoint: At last, an end to Harper and his gang
More voters wanted a progressive government than a Neocon regime
http://www.thebulletin.ca/cbulletin/content.jsp?sid=31519962316521407396177337362&ctid=1000136&cnid=1001980
Are there not 9 Liberal MP’s who care about this country more than they do usurping power? Couldn’t they be persuaded to sit as Independents for the duration of this Parliament? Is this what we’ve come down to?
If the GG goes along with the three slime balls, I’ll have lost total respect for that office, and what remains of constitutional monarchy. Bring on a republic!
People keep talking about the Liberal convention in Vancouver. Any Liberal is going to have to go through me and about 5000 other pissed off people to get in the door.
Ralph Goodale:
“The Bloc is not part of any coalition”
Unbelievable, this guy is truly a liar beyond compare
