“But the reason I would not want to talk to anyone is because our safety was actually compromised by CNN, which broadcast where we were. The terrorists were watching CNN and they came down from where they were in a lift after hearing about us on television.”

Looks like CNN has been taking notes from the original blabbermouth Geraldo Riviera. Geraldo went even farther as he drew a map for the bad guys.
CNN wouldn’t only vector the terrorists in on hostages just to get a few rating points, they’d film the resulting carnage if they could. Run it wall to friggin’ wall too. 24/7.
I’m reminded of the night time US Marine beach landing during the Iraq Unpleasantness that was greeted by hordes of reporters with big, bright movie lights. CNN was there!
In complete contradistinction to the way in which terrorist acts endangering media personnel are treated (vis the recent kidnapping of CBC reporter in Afghanistan) wherein the public’s “right to know” suddenly evaporates as the media give top priority to protecting their own.
Vultures!
I should also note that the Bombay police were seen by a photographer -hiding- from the terrorists instead of firing on them.

I don’t know if that impinges on CNN’s evil behaviour or not, but it certainly raises some questions eh?
We were safer back in the days of ‘censorship’ which, in most cases simply meant ‘sense.’
If I were a military commander on a mission and reporters telegraphed my movements, I’d shut them down and destroy their equipment.
But the story gets worse than that. All of these ‘journalists’ you hear about getting killed in record numbers are mostly local citizens paid a few bucks to get statements and camera images. They are disposable to the major media outlets. The high-priced glamour stars who claim to visit the war almost never leave the ‘Green Zone’

“I thought they only did this to American Soldiers”
Happens. When you live in North America. The MSM and the non-MSM are North America-centric. The rest of the world respons a little bit faster. CNN’s report that endagnered this couples lives would not have been broadcast on CNN America. Only on CNN international (which is broadcast in the rest of the world). Hell, I don’t think most of you knew where Mumbai was before this. And it shows, in Kate’s choice of analysis. Very fringe stuff – written by people who have read a couple of books, but haven’t actually been to Bombay.
Markets presumably determine programming. The average American is not known for being well-informed on global matters anyway.
CNN etc are all going to be dangerous in this regard. Indian media coverage was a lot better, accepting the military’s suggestion that they don’t broadcast live images of soldiers moving in. Some less scrupulous channels decided to show them anyway, prompting the government to enforce a short blackout on satellite channels in Bombay. Just to show whos the boss.
POWinCA
If I were the comander I’d crank ONE right through them, and then destroy their equipment, that way neither they nor their equipment would ever again do such a thing again
CNN the COMMUNISTS.NEWS.NETWORK owned by RED TED TURNER and run by BIG BAD WOLF BLITZER what else can you ever expect from these miserble bunch of liars
