    Yes 22.72 %
    No 77.28 %

    An NDP-Liberal coalition would:
Reflect the will of the people 4674 votes (27 %)
Be nothing more than a power grab 12842 votes (73 %)

Would you support a coalition government?
“Yes, of course” has the same # of votes as “No, I’d rather go to the polls” (about 25% each)
“The Conservatives should stay in power” is way ahead with about double those two, and “Only if Dion wasn’t in charge” has a good 10% or so.

  4. Isn’t that odd.I just watched the cbc newsworld and I got the impression that Canadians are split on the issue, and Harper is on his way out of the conservatives. Of course, they never came close to Alberta or Saskatchewan, the west was represented by people in Vancouver, and from the U of Winnipeg. About as fair and balanced as their poll.

  5. “I got the impression that Canadians are split on the issue”
Funny. That’s how I felt about Peter Mansbridge shagging Cynthia Dale when he was married to Wendy Mesley.
    Split right down the middle.

  6. Layton Dion & Duceppe really are living in lala land. They have their head shoved so far up ther a$$ that the sun don”t shine. This should make your day alittle better. Monte Solberg is fighting mad his blogging! It’s not over till…..

Too funny. The U of Winnipeg is the last place you’d go for a representative sample — non-Liberals need not apply at that place. How do you think Lloyd “Soft Power” Axworthy ended up as Pres.?

  8. Despite what the MSM is spinning, whenever they’ve done vox pop interviews in the street, a large majority of all of the responses that I’ve seen have been anti-coalition. Let’s see how the Queen’s Park protest in Toronto goes on Saturday to see how this is going over even in Toronto.

  9. Well, the coalition isn’t getting much of a positive review in Vancouver, the main TV news here tonight took a very anti-coalition tone and so did several people interviewed on the street. There will be a few people around here (I live near Vancouver) who like the idea, but not nearly as many as you might think — the western economy is pretty much a shared blessing these days, and this port city understands that fact. And as for the rest of BC, I’m sure public opinion will be similar to Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The coalition partners would be governing in the interests of Ontario and Quebec alone, and this is easily apparent to most westerners.

  10. I thought about the options in the CBC poll and the vogted “No, we need to go back to the polls”
My thinking? The only way to truly resolve this mess once and for all is to put it back before we the people.
I’m fairly certain that the Conservative Party would then be back with a majority. Not necessarily a strong majority, because the west is already solidly theirs, but they’d pick up seats in the maritimes and even Nfld.
And certainly more seats in Ontario as well as weak Liberal/NDP seats such as Dosanjh’s would be theirs.

  11. The media is pulling an obama-esque slam dunk on opinion and it’s not going over.
I saw for the first time in my life my elderly parents yelling at the TV on account of the CTV newscaster.

  12. And you haven’t seen nothing yet. This is only Tuesday and these 3 idiots made their first appearance last night. Most of the people are still in shock. When the shock wears off all hell will break loose.

  13. The CBC through the majority of interviewees and commentators are extolling the virtues of a coalition government – many are pointing to Europe and saying, see? No big deal, it works there!
Ahem, separatist party as part of this proposed coalition – big difference here.
    Just saying, guys . . . .
