But the most curious kidnapping that occurred in Pakistan’s northwest has gone largely unreported. The Taliban kidnapped a Canadian journalist named Beverly Giesbrecht. CTV described Giesbrecht as “a Web magazine publisher in British Columbia who adopted the name Khadija Abdul Qahaar after converting to Islam after 9/11.”
What magazine does Giesbrecht/Qahaar write for? None other than Jihad Unspun, a pro-al Qaeda, pro-Taliban, pro-jihadi rag that describes terrorists as “Mujahideen” and Western forces as “Occupiers.” Jihad Unspun routinely posts translations of terrorist leaders.
A question for our readership!

She is a traitor to Canada and all females. She got herself in a real mess by turning her back on civilization, and opting for the s&m religion. As an educated female, not a smart one, she must realize that in itself, is a sin against allah.
Government? Do? Pull her passport.
Lay down with dogs; get up with fleas.
should have been able to lock in all four no votes.
“Jihadi Undone”
Shouldn’t that be the Canadian spelling, “Undun”?
Don’t think of it as a kidnapping, think of it as a ‘Fund Raiser’.
Perhaps they should send Avi Lewis, her co-worker, into negotiate her release.
The CDN. government should warn the Taliban to not even consider using her as a human shield, and then double dare them.
Just curious if anybody has heard media reports from any source, how the Islamic groups in Canada, elmasry et al are reacting (or not) to this kidnapping?
I imagine it must be hard for them to take a position, one way or the other. Kinda like cheering for both teams equally during the Superbowl.
Let her find her own way home.
The media only reports bad news….this is good news….no story here.
Send Svend.
I’m curious why they’d kidnap her since she writes for one of their own publications it appears?
Ask the scum to save us the trial and stone the @#&%* to death so we won’t have to charge her with treason.
In fact, I say we refuse to accept her back unless the terrorists pay a ransom to get rid of her. That way, it would be cheaper to head-hack the traitor.
“The Canadian government is under no obligation to help in any way a citizen who openly supports an armed enemy.”
Legally it is obligated since she is a Canadian citizen, and she hasn’t been declared an enemy of the state. In theory, the government has to fight for her release, following which it can put her on trial, and eventually convict and imprison her, for supporting the enemy. That is the legal way, anyway.
I wish we could just leave her there with her “brothers”. That said, as a Canadian citizen she does have certain rights that are guaranteed until she is proven guilty and even then she has a right to appeal. Morally though, I haven’t the slightest bit of sympathy for her – she’s getting what she deserves, and quite possibly, what she wants.
“1 down – 800,000 to go.”
800,000 what?
