This is the same Prof. Wadhams who told the Telegraph, last week: “The warmer temperatures will also take longer to dissipate, the autumn freeze will take longer, meaning thinner ice.”
Booker, in this week’s column has reported that the Arctic ice cover is 31 percent up on last year, while Anthony Watts reports “sea ice area approaching the edge of normal standard deviation”.

What’s sad is that everyone rambling on about “climate sensitivity” fails to understand…if the climate is as sensitive as they claim and there is ANY COOLING the temperatures will drop like a rock. As it turns out it DOES appear that we have finally overcome the remnants of the warm mode positive feedbacks and they have now switched to COLD MODE. Generally (if you consult the temperature history) when this happens the temperature averages about a .2 degree plunge and even more if the forcing is something like a prolonged solar minimum (there are signs we may be in for a solar minimum like the Dalton Minimum)
Frankly give me global warming any day over global cooling. The fact is that the climate has been cooling since the Middle Ages and that people cannot control the climate either way.
Dear, dear. It’s a pity that Peter Wadhams is talking such nonsense. He seemed a perfectly decent chap when I knew him about 20 years ago. He was very much of a field person – he measured the keels on antarctic sea ice by attaching an upward-looking sonar to one of HM submarines, which then travelled something like 1000 km under the ice. An unrivalled data set. But calling Peter a “physicist”, even an “ocean physicist” is pushing things a little.

We have had ‘global warming’ since the last ice age. Now,I really don’t know why we have to combat ‘climate change’ but it does seem to give many a reason to feel superior.
Easy to find similar ongoing drivel in a certain Metro fish wrap. No matter the section or story, there will suddenly appear a few lines mashed in about “climate change”, “local produce”, “moving closer to downtown”, and similar directives.

Arctic sea ice is gaining about 100,000 SQ. KM. a day. That is a lot of cooling going on. Water between Russia and Alaska is cooling rapidly.
Last year 11 million Sq. Kms of first year sea ice formed. This year we are well ahead of 200, This will make it harder to keep believing in AGW and the economic problems will keep the fears of Carbon off the front burners for a few years. By then the cool cycles of the Atlantic and Pacific will be aligning. Two more years of cooling data is going to be hard to ignore.

If you look at the “hockey stick” graph, and follow it out linearly before the industrial revolution and the ‘blade’, you will see that the planet would now be so cold as to support only a percentage of its current population. But for these green whackos, that’s a feature.

This has been true for at least the past 30 years in Nova Scotia. We are far more likely to have a “white Easter” no matter what the date.
we really should not deter the green nuts from their chosen plans to save the planet. They all seem to be easy to brainwash and it is only a matter of time before another Gore/Suzuki guru comes along and sets a new frenzy into a different direction. Every generation must have their panic situation. This one has been very entertaining and the bonus is that the Arabs are getting nervous over some of the fuel saving technology. Don’t let on that we have always had climate change.Let them dream that a dinky country like ours could actually make a difference on a global scale.They need that dream.
