Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Yup, more than ever it’s so clearly apparently how influential the media is … when people are listening to it, that is.
I’ll still never forget the older woman who called up to Charles Adler a few months ago and [scolding him] said, “I know I’m getting the truth because I watch & listen to the CBC.”
Maybe the Governor General could start giving out awards for extreme ignorance of Canadians. The medal would be a penny hung from a thread.
Simply outstanding, as always.
How would you like to have a career as a journalist known country-wide for some 30 to 40 years and retire not really knowing what honest journalism is all about. Lets hope that for Lloyd’s peace of mind and for posterity, Lloyd comes to that place in his career where he actually sees the light. I’m not placing any bets.
Lloyd who???
Years ago there was a guy on CBC who switched to CTV but I was sure he must be dead by now. Of course I couldn’t be bothered to check out either network to find out if my suspicion is right or not.
Kate, thank you for posting the link. The story and pictures were inspiring, and a welcome relief from the usual drivel we’re fed by the MSM as to the goings-on in Afghanistan.
Joe, his name was Lloyd Robertson.
I haven’t heard for than 5 continuous seconds of ‘floyd’ robertsons bland voice since around the time he jumped over to ctv.

nice to see the small paypal donation I made a while back put to superb use.
what a beautiful and very rugged people and country.
@&*%^@%@&&$# taliban.
As telling as Michael report, is the comment immediately following the picture story. The fight isn’t with the taliban – its with the capitulators who will surrender truth over human dignity.
Joe, Lloyd did pass on several years ago. What you see on TV, pimped as “Canada’s most trusted teleprompter reader”, is a very life-like tribute to the skill of an embalmer extraordinaire.
Thanks for this Kate, and no, I wouldn’t be seeing this in the Canadian mainstream media.
Steve.
