“The wireless isn’t working”

Kate’s away again, so on her behalf I’ll invite the guest bloggers to feel free to post on SDA.
I must admit though, I’m somewhat jealous of our colleagues in the Saskatchewan Dipper blog-o-sphere. Calvert announced that he was done as NDP leader tonight, so they’ll have all sorts of political mischief to make in the next little while.
It hasn’t started yet . . . but once they get over the ass-kicking the NDP got in Saskatchewan on Tuesday, good places to visit are probably going to be: Sean in Saskatchewan, Giant Political Mouse, Accidental Deliberations, and the ULTRA LEFT WING!!! Buckdog.
I’m not so jealous of the Libloggers who will soon have the same opportunity. The grassroots and the establishment are set to have one big brewhaha. The fall-out isn’t going to be pretty and the grassroots are going to lose.
Just remember Liberals, at or about 10 am on the Saturday morning of your “good for TV” convention, while your 20 year old delegates where sleeping off their hang-overs, the few who bothered to show up for policy votes declined one member one vote.
That’s why the establishment feels free to cut the leader. That’s why they don’t care about you. You told them it was okay for cliques and divisions in the party. You told them that delegate voting was the right thing. You abdicated your responsibilities to your party.
You remember that when you’re whining about those “senior Liberals”.

  1. Lorne Calvert, worst Premier Saskatchewan has ever had if you are a working, tax paying, home owning, family. On the other hand if you are on welfare, have 3 or 4 children by 2 or 3 different men, then GOOD OLD LORNE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.

  2. Now,now. Be nice to the poor little Liebrano kiddies,Lance.Remember that they are young, and will outlive and out vote those “senior Libs”. Never mind that THEY are the one’s who will have to attempt to build the party back up. Never mind that the little “entitlistas” haven’t paid a cent in tax, but want you and me to pay for their “education”. AND they, whether they realize it or not, have to help pay off Deyawn’s debt. That would be enough to make me get a real job and life!…Oh wait. Turdeau the 2nd will save them!!
Can’t wait to see the NDP(as much as I hate them)run roughshod over what remains of the “natural ruling party”.

  3. After living in regina and moving to rural recently for a job, I cannot begin to describe how bad Lorne and his ilk were for this province. I have seen half assed road repairs, closed schools and hospitals. The road crews roast my rhubarb the most. Where else can roads just have hot ashphalt dumped on them and then we the public are supposed to compact it? This is lovely union mentality that the NDP allowed to foster. What is the mantra with the HRC? Oh yeah! FIRE THEM ALL!

  5. Cjunk, thats a great point about the upcoming Liberal convention. I’m very glad the CPC has one member-one vote.
Speaking of conventions, the CPC policy convention is coming up very shortly. Should be interesting to see whether the party shifts to the right, or stays about where it is.

  6. I’m going to that convention, if the party shifts to the right from where it is, it is nuts. You don’t move the party off the center, you move the center over time toward the right from within the government, and then follow. We have the center now, with a somewhat stronger NDP on the left, and the Liberals wedged in between. Now we just turn the handle on the vice every other month or so, and crush that syphlittic whore to death.

  7. These will be tough times for Brad Wall and the Sask Party to still enhance the free economic plan. If the NDP elect and leader with any charisma, people will want to fall back on being looked after by the nanny state.

  8. Merle. So true!! Human nature being what it is the last 50 years, there is just no way to rid ourselves of self serving fools and those that follow them. Why don’t we just treat them like the leeches they are,and invent a vaccine for it??

  9. You are exactly right lance.
I was watching the convention, and I was shocked when they decided to keep the delegated conventions. That told me right there that they weren’t interested in the renewal they kept talking about, and only interested in keeping the power amongst the elites in the party.
On second thought, I wasn’t that shocked. But that was the bigger story of the convention than who eventually won the leadership.
Unfortunately for the Liberals, leadership conventions with high registration fees seems to be about the only effective fundraising technique they know.
My question…with the LPC now refunding entry fees into their leadership contests, how many “also rans” will there be this time around?

Especially when the NDP machine rolls out the “mediscare” and “hidden agenda” rubbish that has been so successful in the past. Any misstep, no matter how miniscule, by the Wall government will be blown out of proportion by the media. Check out Murray Mandryk’s column in today’s StarPhoenix where he engages in a nauseating love-fest for Calvert. Mandryk, the arrogant turd that he is, couldn’t resist a shot at the “not-so-real world of the blogosphere” If Mandryk wasn’t so full of himself he would realize that the blogoshpere provides much more reliable information the does the MSM, of which he is a part. If this guy isn’t on the payroll of the NDP, he should be.
