Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle

Miss May will publicly proclaim that the liberals fiscal policy is too left wing socialist and “her party’s fiscal policy is conservative in nature”.
(Which of course it’s not)
That will attract soft conservatives that are typically detached from the political discussion but own a “cottage up north, and really LOVE nature.”can’t stand the corruption and promised themselves they would never vote liberal again.
This is a mistake.
It sound to me like the MSM has given up promoting Dion even they can see the poll numbers for Dion personally are too low, and are now working on promoting the Dion and May team.
May will do all the talking in English for Dion’s environmental cause ,
The MSM the Liberals, Block, Greens and the NDP will all make this against the dirty TAR SANDS and for the environment; all ganging up on conservatives, who are the gubmint of the day thereby loathed by most. It will be tough job to make conservative policy look centrist while surrounded by socialsts and they’re monolithic media cheerleaders.
Big Mistake.
Why all the prase for Harper. Between flip flopping and apologising he hasn’t time for anything else. Who needs a PM that can’t make up his mind. He’s as bad as the Liberals.
I don’t like it, but at the end of the day the other 4 parties all talk a certain line and the conservatives get to pick up whoever doesnt agree with them.
So you have one brand of Tide and 4 Discount brands. I’d rather be Tide.
The debates will be a mess….all Harper has to do is speak past them and not descend into the squabble. May is bomb thrower, her lines are all known…Harper’s team will undoubtably be prepared.
In fact it becomes a perfect example of a minority Parliament, after watching them scrap for 2 hours the question becomes, “is this waht you want for the next 4 years? or do you want to get something done?”

Just caught PMSH on the telly saying that having Eliza May at the debate is “unprecedented in any democracy” and patently “unfair,” while said media outlet–in this case, the CBC–is out front and cheerleading for Ms May, giving her lots of coverage, which amounts to free advertising for a political leader who hasn’t even been elected by the Canadian people.
PMSH made the point that, essentially, Dion/May is a coalition and that to allow them to speak as one is not fair.
I’m in agreement with him. I think it was a mistake for the consortium and Taliban Jack Laydown to back down, but my hope is that Eliza May’s shrieking and her singularly unattractive presentation of her platform scuttle any chances she has of being elected or hurting PMSH’s chances at the polls. Her showing her true colours might just have unintended consequences for her run at a seat in the HOC. I hope so.
(I can’t help it: Every time I see her in one of her green sweaters I can’t help conjuring up a plump, upside-down pumpkin.)
I thought Steve paikin Did a fantastic job running the debates last time around. I hope he Is moderator this time.
Steve Paikin would be OK, even though The Agenda usually piles on lib-lefts to conservatives at least 4 to 1.

Now that’s not very politically correct…but it was kind of funny.
I support May being in the debate and not because it provides more lefties. If people looked closer at the Green party policy you might find more righty stuff than you think. I support her being there because it is the democratic thing to do. The swell of public opinion confirms that.
I also support it because the public will have a opportunity to see more of her and assess her as a leader/debater for themselves. Unless you actually get to see someone in an environment like a debate you don’t get much of a sense of them. Photo ops and quicky blurps on the MSM show little because of their propensity for pre scripting.
I remember the first time I saw Jack Layton in a debate. Ouch! Poor fellow was so anxious to get his licks in and some time in the spotlight that he came across very poorly.
Now it’s May’s ball to run with. Let’s see if she can handle only being able to put forward a fraction of her policies and keep her cool. It’s a delicate balance between end runs and the long ball.
As far as Harper’s part is concerned, I think it was wise he decided to change his position. It would also be wise not to caterwaul about it.
Hugger: “I support her being there because it is the democratic thing to do. The swell of public opinion confirms that.”
“The swell of public opinion” was, apparently, 80,000 people–out of a population of 33,000,000 this is “a swell”?
Would it also be “the democratic thing to do” to allow the Christian Heritage Party in on the debate? Apparently, they’re asking to be part of it, as well. And why not?
As for my upside-down pumpkin remark: It wasn’t meant to be politically correct… 😉
ok
what the harper says and what the Liberal says
what these two are main differences and their main similatires are
for example cut the porn from internet totally from Yaho or google what these two are opinion are
for security of cities and gun control what these are debating
for abortion what tehse two are debating
for war what their idea
other important topis:
tax
busienss grow and economic growth and development
family value
health care
education
how they devide their funding if each become elcted
multicultrim and Muslim issue how these two are debating in regard to Hrc
and more important topic these topic must be selcted and every day talk about it and then in debate only we know the main issue and what or how they are going to update thier past mistake
so far we learn from republican McCain is too old na probably talk short like Harper who may look younger but act older than his age adn probably both are sleeping by 8 pm has not energy to tlak or go to debate after 8 pm
for woman like Palin we learn Conservative hat Muslim in left who liek Tablen force woman do not go to school or cover thier face are we instead of help Afgaintn are we plan to cut their clotn in half or revmove cloth off like Palin since I do not trust Republic like good owman they like sexy woman instead or secreotr if we think too far to left to cut all right from Msuim and then think in too right to take their cloth off by men order in nonMuslim as one guy comment smaking woman or step child adn JC while Jc is black and probaly you must like Obma while you hate Obama for his color
therefore how we or goverment can give more freedom to woman not in misuse or mismange or misdirect hem but alo give tem valu use their bran and give htem more personaliy and money and more support to them and to their children to work and use thier talent in poliic and all levels in country in Canda
what program both paties are look for
are we have to still seen woman walk top less in Canada are we have to see proud Gay in street
if Gay are lik to go sleep with otehr men
tehn why we have to allow them thier yearly once a year street walk of them saying we love to sleep with each otehr then we ahve to let all men and woman married to have pray in street and saying we are maried and like to slep togehter
hwo govmernt can cut the bad culture maong White English we do not l ike to see Gay pray what is good about it to see Gay pray or see nake woman in street why they have right to show it and our eyes must see it
tehre is so many thing they can argue in Canada
court stystem in Canada is sting in civil court only suport big companies how we can cut all brockrasy in Canda and speed those real claim
and so many other important issue that each group how their plan is for Muslim Canadian freedom of speech and their culture in limit
Great, the more the merrier. What about the heads of the Rhinoceros and Communist parties? Lets have a Party party!
