The “Dems” have already committed political suicide by juggling the vote to put “BHO” in as president elect. “HRC” did have more votes. The party is split and will remain split over this. Does not matter that “HRC & BC” gave a good talk to DNC, still boils down that they juggled votes.
If the “Dems” expect to start putting their product on the table. “How is it that you are going to cut taxes and still have the social programs”. They have to reform the government handouts if they expect to win.

Who cares how much of the speech Palin personally wrote, or whether she used a teleprompter or referred to written notes. Is there any doubt that she believes in the message, or that she competently delivered the message?
Her intelligence, her passion and her “servant’s heart” are a huge debating advantage over the sleazy opposition. After all it’s not about tricking the public into following you, it’s about leading the public in the direction they wish to go, and Palin obviously understands that.

It is one thing to oppose something like this with the honest intention that it not pass, but once it has passed and everyone else is collecting, it is asking a lot to expect someone to wear a hairshirt for purposes of upholding a principle that no longer affects a public policy issue. Her original point was that NOONE should get the pension — and therein was the savings for Canadians — but once the issue is resolved, and EVERYONE ELSE is collecting, there is absolutely no reason why she should be deprived. Preston Manning has rejected the penion — but he gets very little credit, though this gesture is admirable indeed.
Re your other point, I don’t know about the London Ontario comment — what was the context? What the F*** was she doing there? I continue to be impressed with how she did stand up for principle while in office.

Palin’s speech last night reminded me of a Entertainment Tonight reporter making fun of a celebrity’s designer dress.
