37 Million Plus

In terms of this year’s conventions, the preliminary rating for NBC’s coverage last night is higher than any other night of the convention on the broadcast networks, including Sen. Obama’s nomination acceptance speech on Aug. 28.

Rush, (on Wednesday before the speech);

I think once this gets going, and as I said yesterday once this hits full stride, the Barack Obama campaign’s going to realize what a loser choice it made in putting Joe Biden on the ticket, mark my words. There’s going to be a huge reversal of this by the time this all shakes out. But why are they trying to force her off the ticket? If she’s this big a trailer trash, and if she’s so inexperienced, why not leave her there? She should be easy to beat, right? Well, that’s the key. They’re scared to death of her. They are frightened like they haven’t been frightened in a long time. They thought they had succeeded in nullifying and eliminating the conservative wing of the Republican Party. They thought that they had succeeded in creating an impression among Americans at large that conservatism was in disfavor, that it was in a funk, that it was a minority, and here comes Palin, Sarah Palin just in her being, in her essence, simply destroys every myth and every lie that the liberals have told us that they want in women.

Bingo.
Now we know what had them so frightened. Tied.

  1. JoeBi referred to Sarah today as the Lieutenant Governor of Alaska. He’s either senile, misinformed (=stupid, for a senator), or he’s trying the same silly game as the big 0 in referring to her only as the mayor… He is so going to get his ass handed to him.
Just think – we have possibly 6 weeks of our favorite phrase “ass handed to him by a girl!” Lovin’ it.

  2. Probably one your criteria in choosing which political candidate you support – Where do they buy their coffee from?…& likely as sound as the rest of your criteria.

  3. What’s Gov. Palin’s position on the soft jihad here in N. America? I’m curious because her stated intent, I’m assuming she actually shares the vision with Sen. McCain, would be a solid move towards a policy of disengagement with the Saudi lobby(?)…
If that’s true then there’s a major difference between the two party platforms and in fact, from the Bush admin’s past activities.
I’m guessing there won’t be a whole lot of stick waving during the campaign, but I’m also guessing that the ME Badboys are raptly watching this unfold.
If OPEC starts madly flooding the market with oil, you’ll know that they take her/them seriously and want the price of oil DOWN!

  4. Skip,
an “ass handed to him by a girl” countdown thread up until the VP debates would be quite the hoot.

I would very cautious about this poll as it was conducted between Sept 1-3 – during the Republican convention – perhaps most calls were made before the Palin speech.
A red flag is that it still shows an enthusiasm gap between Obama and McCain in favour of Obama. I think Palin’s changed that completely.
After all, Palin is the equivalent of McCain nuking the s**t out of the Dems.

  6. I don’t think it’s out of the question the dorks will be running Area51 and Lochness articles about cuda. If that doesn’t work they’ll go as low as possible–connections to chairman Mo!!!

  7. Just some good comments from around the web.
“Sarah Palin does not go hunting. “Hunting” implies the possibility of failure. Sarah Palin goes killing.”
“Unlike Cheney, when Sarah Palin shoots a lawyer, he’s down.”

    “but I don’t think”
We are all in agreement with that. Oh, what… it was taken out of context, you say.
Bull Sh*t; that is exactly what you said. In a post you made at 6:13 PM you said “but I don’t think”.
Or would you claim that context IS important?

  9. Palin’s speech last night reminded me of a Entertainment Tonight reporter making fun of a celebrity’s designer dress. We have become so dumb as a society we think that these insulting jokes make a great speech. Obama’s speech was ten times better and he will be president. Maybe Palin can take the job of that transvestite on ET who makes fun of celebrities.

  10. lberia: Do I rightly understand that you are gloating about:
“…quoted an anonymous source saying: ‘Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and his business associations with the guy.” ?
If she did have an affair, don’t you owe her the same level of courtesy that the MSM gave Edwards and at least wait until she hides in a hotel bathroom from photographers and confesses on television before you start talking about how you missed the story?

  11. cbaily,
You know what kind of jokes hurt? The kind with a grain of truth in ’em. That is the sting you obviously feel.

  12. Actually T. Robert, I’m waiting for McSame to choke on one of the many unvetted bones that are going to fall out of Palin’s closet.

  13. At least use phrases like “carrying the football” once in a while to show you’ve read a few airport kiosk thrillers as well.
Why is this pick of information sources totally unsurprising?

  14. Actually cbailey looks like some sort of bot. The exact same poorly crafted statement was made on several other previous smalldeadanimals posts.

  15. El-bury-ya is right to post a link from such a pristine news organization such as National Enquirer. They are well known for their factual, investigative reporting, and have uncovered such items such as:
    – another Elvis sighting
    – Bill Clinton is actually a Martian
    – and, of course, from way back, Carol Burnett is an alcoholic (that one cost them big time)
The leftogony has nobody but themsleves to blame for Palin – they by and large have created her with their slur, slime and smear, which made many people curious about her, who then tuned in and found out she was the real deal.
Actually, I thought I read somewhere that lberia is actually, you guessed it, Stephane Dion. Or is it Garth Turner? Actually, Mao Zedung. Thank you Chairman Mao.
We should all than lberia for, once again, demonstrating he/she doesn’t get it.

  16. Increasingly I am aware of how the left is quite intolerant of anyone who does not fit in to their rather small ideological box. Sarah Palin has much to recommend her. A belief in Chistianity is a significant part of her make-up . . . as is true for many admirable Americans. Snearing at religious belief is small minded and harmful to the kind of open discourse that is essential in a democratic society.
