    That is your memory of the Cold War? That you were wetting your knickers every day? I guess we all should have just given in and gone the way of North Korea. That would have been a lot less “scary” for you, I guess.
    There are things worth fighting for, and you will always have to fight for them as long as there are people willing to fight to take them away. Look at the Korean War. A war ended in stalemate by the UN. It serves as a perfect experiment over 50 years of what we were standing up for and what the commies were fighting to inflict on us.
    I very much remember the Cold War, and I clearly remember the western Left apologizing for whatever the Soviets did, and bitterly accusing the US of causing all world problems, and staging mass demonstrations in the streets trying to force the West to capitulate to the Soviets. I am sure that is how you remember it too.
