    But seriously, sooner or later Murdoch or Zuckerman is going to pick off one of these dinosaurs and turn it into a fox news in print form. And if the reborn version turns into a financial and circulation success, (as many think it will) then the left flank of the MMM could be in for a rout not seen since 11/9/89.

  4. Murdoch is already on the move. Recent purchase of the Wall Street Journal, hiring additional journalists, expanding the paper. He intends to replace the NY Times as the new standard.
    And yet. Virtually every other newspapers declining in sales, letting go staff, increasing the percentage of ads and still there are journalists complaining. The Atlantic Monthly has a nice piece about Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal. The bias still comes through though as the few management people who have left get lots of coverage while the expansion plans gets short thrift.

  6. Clearly, the MSM doesn’t see it coming. They’re too deluded to realize that they’re becoming increasingly irrelevant, that their “services” are less and less required, especially as they’re so biased, they report far too much irrelevant fluff and far too little important stuff, with the internet media, including the lowly blogs, covering the important stuff which the left-wing-conspiratorial MSM tries to hide from the people (or at least spin leftwards) so as to limit their understanding of the true reality of the world.
    People are sick and tired of the way they’ve been told stuff, the way they’re told to think about the world, etc., by the MSM. Yet the MSM sleepwalks towards its undoing, not changing course at all, still taking its audience, dwindling though it is, for granted…
    Why don’t they just report the facts, period? Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?

    Behold the beauty of the market. The people who support the leftist views of the MSM are the very same people who don’t bother informing themselves, it is like trying to sell salt to a slug; therefore, they’re “not waiting for the asteroid”. What a bunch of knobs, even the automotive industry is trying to adjust to serve customer demand. I would purchase a news paper like the ones others have commented on here, perhaps A.Smith was on to something.
