TORONTO – The head of Ontario’s municipal pension fund was the highest paid civil servant last year with a $2.2-million salary as the number of bureaucrats earning more than $100,000 jumped a whopping 24 per cent over 2006.
The so-called “sunshine list” showed 42,000 Ontario government employees and workers at Crown corporations, municipalities, hospitals, colleges and universities pulled in more than $100,000 last year – an increase of 8,000 over 2006.
Since 2005, some 14,000 civil servants and public sector workers have been added to the list of those making over $100,000.

I have just read a book titled The Volunteer by Michael Ross on his life as a Canadian who joined the Israeli Mossad. He served Israel for 20 years leaving after 9/11 and his views of the muslim world are quite insightful.
In one of the final chapters he wrote about our Liberals and Cretin’s support of Hezbollah.

One senses that the jihadists will have to hit each Western nation individually befor they wake up to the threat, and stop trying to blame democratic nations like Israel and the United States for bringing the violence on themselves.

These men and women of great courage like our soldiers are our main strength in this battle. Sad to see them undercut by the like of Jack Layton and his ilk.
More proof the Liberals are trolling the bottom for useless sludge bringing up the Walkerton tragedy in an attempt to tar Flaherty. Never mind the details of course, Walkerton would have happened under any government. It was down to the two people who were responsible for the safety of the water not doing their jobs, drinking alcohol on the job and they were tried and convicted.

Mix in some environment, some fiscal federalism, and voilà! ” This sounds just like the way Liberals would “whip” up a policy — not based on any convictions, mind you, just “bit of this” “bit of that” — top this up — blah, blah. I think the lack of clear policies at the moment may be a bigger issue for the Liberals than Dion (maybe, anyway). Trouble is, Liberals are not used to making policies — mostly they steal them from other parties. I am biginning to think that Parliament would run a lot more effectively if the NDP were the official opposition. The Liberals just do not stand for anything anymore and their attacks on the Conservatives lately are these mindless, non-issues (like Nafta, Brenda Martin, even Mulroney which I continue to believe is a waste of everyone’s time.)
