Basically he’s saying “Quit relying on handouts and false leaders (like Obama, Clinton, etc.) because you need to stand up and be accountable and Christian. Stop blaming everyone else, and look to yourself for why there is a problem, why you have been slaves for so long.”
It’s kind of surreal because in a lot of ways it is true for all of us.
I think the best gift we recieved from the African American community is Jazz, Funk, Rhythm and Blues, Motown, Aretha, The Impressions, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Great Phil Perry, John Coltrane, Count Bassey, Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, and a cast of thousands.
There are no better singers with the most fabulous voices than what he hear from the Black community.
Some white soul singer have done the genre justice such a Michael MacDonald of the Doobs, and my old friend Doug Mallory from Dr. Music to name two.
Black Mucians and singers are largely responsible for the development of the popular music unique to North America. Although what some white people did to Rock and Roll by way of Punk Rock, Acid Rock and other abominations is lamentable.
I won’t even start with the great athletes.
I think he really only got one thing even close to right. I agree with others that his comments on affirmative action are generally in the correct direction. My comments on the remainder of the message follows.
I have a much narrower view than many concerning what constitutes genuine Christianity. Yet, I do not always reveal those thoughts on blogs such as this because I am aware that many blog participants do not themselves have sufficient Scriptural knowledge to evaluate the issue. This is one of those times I feel quite confident in stating that this man is not a minister of the Christian faith, whatever else he may be.
Although his profanity is mild by some standards, that manner of speech is out of place for a Christian. Colossians 4
5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.
6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

It is my estimation that most people know that this is quuite at odds with the message of Scripture.
I was glad that the video carried on long enough until he said what he said at the end. It was at the very end that he said “I’m your last hope”. This is the most deterministic statement this man made about his real credentials as a minister of the Christian faith. In view of Scripture, a Christian would not have made the statements he made. These first two referring to “no hope” clearly describe those outside the faith. Ephesians 2
11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands–
12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

I think itâs commendable when anyone speaks his or her mind, whether we like the message or not. He speaks for his black community and is passionate about it; they need some butt kicking from more of their leaders instead of 50 cent and Tupac.
My opinion was he was very accurate with his 500-year portrait and âwhere has it gotten youâ, obviously something needs to change and continued reliance on government subsistence and faked scholastic grades are not the answer.
He also beat up white women, the reason? Watch the television, do you see any âsuccessfulâ black man without a beautiful white woman on his arm? What do you think that presents to a young black mans physic and ideals of success? What does that do for a black womanâs self esteem?
Blacks in America have it the worst with the illegal Mexican invasion of America. Not only loosing their jobs and traditional communities, but also they are competing with another minority which now outnumbers them. The Mexicans could care less about black civil rights and as a matter of fact have hijacked them for their own advantage. The average Mexicans are far more racist to blacks than any modern white society completing a very bleak picture for the future of blacks in America.
I would say the old reverend clearly sees the coming future for his people and is fighting back with everything he knows howâŠâŠâŠâŠ.You asked.

Pretty entertaining, the thing that amazed me was the stylish robes. Why do Christians like to dress up like Darth Vaders bodyguards? (especially the fundementalist types)
An aside to Jim O’Brien about Ontario’s (Canada’s) ‘deep south’. I was just thinking how similar the landscape in south west Ontario is (in terms of flatness and fertility of the land and look) to the Mississippi delta and specifically in the area between Memphis and Clarkesdale (birthplace of the blues, the ‘crossroads’, etc.). There’s a potential angle there.
Don’t really know what to make of this clip. What was interesting to me was looking at all the people behind him in pseudo-religious garb and grouped in together in ways to look religious and authoritative. They were keeping straight faces so they must be buying the stuff.

This guy is a walking advertisement for pride, wrath, and a goodly number of the other seven deadly sins. His whole attitude says:

The First Amendment to the Constitution is alive and well.

Beneath the fire and brimstone, there is certainly an element of truth regarding the state of African-American society today. 500 years later, they are still at the bottom, and Mexican-Americans will surely surpass them in every way.
As an aside, I felt fleeting pangs of sympathy for my ex. His wife carries on like this every day….pity!
