  2. THE conservative Washington think tank that devised the *surge* of US forces in Iraq has come up with a plan to send 12,000 more American troops into southern Afghanistan.
A panel of more than 20 experts convened by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) has also urged the administration to get tough with Pakistan.
The US should threaten to attack Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters in lawless areas on the border with Afghanistan if the Pakistan military did not deal with them itself, the panel concluded.

CBC said 3200 Marines are going and even said when ?? How tactically bright to give the time eh? = TG

  3. Wow, one hellva confessional letter by Ivan Drury’s. Fascinating read this; mind boggling to see feeble mindedness married with a wannabe tyrant so easily done.
I hear you TG cbc, and the rest of LSM are examples of our enemy within. You can bet THEY won’t even touch this expose of the leftist’s gestapo tactics. It’s my opinion that they are one and the same anyway.
Thanks Vit., must have taken some work to do that.

  4. You’re welcome, LDD. I’ve probably spent about six hours fiddling around with the program; it would be about six printed pages long now. It’s a classic hack, I’d never release code like that to my customers. However, it does allow me to do interesting things like this page containing all my SDA comments, and those related to me, so far this year:

Don’t Left Wing cult leaders have better things to do with their time?

  6. The left has devolved into such a morass, that they are actually eating their own young.
In the old days, they would unite, and pool their resources in an effort to destroy the lives of people like me(original Reform member in Ontario).
And man, did they ever try to destroy my life(they totally failed, and we elected Mike Harris for 2 terms).

Spending-scandal minister to run for federal Liberals
St. John’s — A former Newfoundland cabinet minister implicated in the province’s legislative spending scandal will be running for the federal Liberals in the next election.
Walter Noel, named last year by the province’s Auditor-General after an exhaustive probe into constituency allowance spending, has won the party’s nomination in St. John’s East. According to the Auditor-General, Mr. Noel spent $12,266 from his constituency allowance on personal items, including women’s fragrances, scarves and gloves, as well as beer and wine. He says the items were gifts for people he did business with while he was a provincial member. …-

  9. United States follows Canada in quitting Durban II conference while the NDP waffles
Stephen Harper and the Conservatives led Canada to be the first country to pull out of the Durban II conference, a UN-sponsored event combating racism. The first conference in 2001 turned into a spectacle of anti-Semitism and West-bashing. Seeing that Durban II was shaping up to be more of the same, the Canadian government announced that no delegation would be attending.
Until now, Canada stood alone. But now the United States has announced that no American delegation would participate.
I expect more countries to follow soon. […]
On January 23, Jason Kenney, Canada’s secretary of state for multiculturalism and Canadian identity announced that the so-called Durban II conference “has gone completely off the rails.”
“Our considered judgment, having participated in the preparatory meetings, was that we were set for a replay of Durban I. And Canada has no intention of lending its good name and resources to such a systematic promotion of hatred and bigotry,” he told the Canadian media. …-

    Liberal STOPIGGY Ignatieff has said:
His overriding message was that Canada matters more than ever on the world stage, a position that requires us to adopt the unaccustomed approach of “banging on the table.”
But it can’t be just talk, he added, noting Canada has made a commitment through the United Nations to protect people targeted in genocidal massacres and other areas of violence.
“And you can’t protect people just with blue berets and a sidearm” Ignatieff said, picking as an example how peacekeeping forces failed to stop the Rwandan genocide. “It requires — and this is the difficult bit for Canada — it requires military capability.”

  11. I have followed the story of the father who is responsible for the freezing deaths of his children. This story is much bigger than the freezing event.
The sister said to the media he was a stay at home dad. The mother is also a stay at home parent. WTF. She should have said a stat at home BUM, Welfare bum, etc.
The mother of the dead children abandoned her family and went partying with her husband’s brother. WTF. The mother left her children in the care of a drunk father (I can’y go to work because I stay at home and drink)
The brother of the father also lives on this reserve. Does the brother have a job or is a stay at home guy also?
The sister of the mother who’s children froze to death also lives on the reserve, does she work or stay at home?
The chief of this reserve was on the John gormley show and was more concerned with his political career than this freezing incident.
The grandmother of the children who froze to death was on the news and said ” there is a lot of disfunction out here, a lot of drinking, like jugs and pails” Jugs and pails, does this refer to Moonshine?
The father was employer at a Regina tire repair shop but moved back to the reserve for a more quiet life.
The mother is 5 months pregnant. how many babies are you going to have before you get a job and support yourself?
It seems to me that living on that reserve is not so bad. One can sit around and DRINK, SMOKE, PARTY, MAKE BABIES AND NOT WORK.
One can only hope A SOCIAL AGENCY would move in and take her newborn because a track record like this is CRIMINAL.
We the taxpayers are paying for all of this. His monthly living money, his house to live in, his first rate hospital stay, his ambulance to and from the funeral, his rehab from the freezing, his legal defence team if the crown decides to charge him. his wife’s stay in hospital when she gives birth, and on, and on.
    What a f’n joke.

  12. The letter from Ivan Drury is a window into the world of the leftist groups that are parasites on our society. These dangerous incestuous factions feed off of the work ethic of capitalism yet their goal is to destroy it! Even after Drury opens his eyes slightly and sees the cultist dictatorship of Fire This Time he still buys into the marxist philosophy despite its enslavement and murder of millions of people.
His letter helps explain the mental state of leftists like our trolls here and those who blindly follow the Liberal and NDP parties. Interesting how the commentors on his letter note the same methods of domination in their groups like forcing people to steal from their parents. Each of them felt it was wrong yet remained silent.
My brothers daughter, now in her thirties, has been involved with these groups for years. Never held a real job, gets money from welfare and her family and just drifts through life.
Guess that is why when the real thugs like the Communists take over a country they just shoot these idiots.

  15. dj–you forgot to add that it is the white man’s fault too! The Natives have not decided yet if they will take the $26M from the Canadian taxpayer for the flooding of their land to build the Welland Canal(this is a landclaim deal). How much more ludicrous can this country become?
The Native leaders are as corrupt if not more corrupt than our own. Where do the billions of dollars go that we hand out like candy? But it is our fault. It is in the best interest of the Native leaders to keep their people down, and their people do not seem to care. Those that do are shunned. I know this from first hand experience.
This madness will never end until we say enough is enough.

  18. Women face prison for ignoring a murder under their own roof
Two sisters wept and their mother screamed abuse when all three were found guilty yesterday of turning a blind eye to the horrific murder of a young woman in their house.
Sabia Rani, 19, was systematically beaten and abused by her husband, Shazad Khan, over three months at the home that they shared in Leeds. When she died she had 15 broken ribs and bruising over 85 per cent of her body and, according to a pathologist, looked like the victim of a catastrophic road accident.
Khan was convicted of her murder a year ago. Yesterday his mother, Phullan Bibi, 52, his sisters, Nazia Naureen, 28, and Uzma Khan, 23, and Uzma’s husband Majid Hussain, 28, were all found guilty of allowing the death of a vulnerable adult under the Domestic Violence Crime and Victims Act 2004…

  24. Paragraph from Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism that broke me up (page 129).
Too many liberals subscribe to the myth that the New Deal was a coherent, enlightened endeavour encapsulated in the largely meanigless phrase “the Roosevelt legacy”. This is poppycock. “To look upn these programs as the result of a unified plan”, wrote Raymond Moley, FDR’s right-hand man during much of the New Deal, “was to believe that the accumulation of stuffed snakes, baseball pictures, school flags, old tennis shoes, caprenter’s tools, geometry books, and chemistry sets in a boy’s bedroom could have been put there by an interior decorator.” When Alvin Hansen, an influential economic advisor to the president was asked — in 1940! — whether the “basic prinicple of the New Deal” was “economically sound,” he responded, “I really do not know what the basic principale of the New Deal is”.

Condoleezza Rice wants Nato allies to do more in Afghanistan
The Bush Administration is sending another 3,200 Marines to southern Afghanistan from March to September, and is looking to Britain to help to convince Nato allies to put together an equivalent European force to take over from it. Canada has threatened to pull out its 2,500 troops unless other countries share its combat burden in the south.
Nato defence ministers will meet in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital, this week to try to find 7,500 more troops to reinforce the 42,000-strong force already deployed across Afghanistan. Mr Gates has written to all his Nato counterparts, including an unusually “direct and stern” missive to Germany, demanding that the country does its share. The letters have caused anger in Berlin and among other Nato allies, who believe that they are being dragged into American domestic politics during an election year.

  29. Some essential reading on Hillary Rodham Clinton:
“But the job that brought her to the attention of the political universe, to which she no longer refers, was serving as a junior staffer on the House Judiciary Committee’s Impeachment Inquiry staff, in 1974, which Mr. Zeifman ran.
    “Mr. Zeifman writes:

After President Nixon’s resignation a young lawyer, who shared an office with Hillary, confided in me that he was dismayed by her erroneous legal opinions and efforts to deny Nixon representation by counsel-as well as an unwillingness to investigate Nixon.

At that time Hillary Rodham was 27 years old. She had obtained a position on our committee staff through the political patronage of her former Yale law school professor Burke Marshall and Senator Ted Kennedy. Eventually, because of a number of her unethical practices I decided that I could not recommend her for any subsequent position of public or private trust.

  32. TRIBES OF TERROR
”Stanley Kurtz’s review/essay on Waziristan” makes a signal contribution to our understanding of the current crisis in Pakistan, how Islamic terrorists are taking over and what can be done about it. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban have made Pakistan’s mountainous northern region of Waziristan into a headquarters for the worldwide Islamist revolution. Kurtz examines, in particular, the work of Akbar Ahmed, a British-trained anthropologist, who briefly served as governor in the region. Ahmed’s insights illuminate the ties between local tribal honor codes and Islamic jihad. Ahmed’s work and his experience in the region’s politics suggest strategies that may be effective in successfully waging the war on terrorism.
UPDATE: Over at NRO’s Corner, Stanley Kurtz writes:
The dark heart of the war on terror resides in Pakistan’s Waziristan region. This is where al Qaeda has reconstituted its sanctuary. And that is why the current crisis in nuclear-armed Pakistan is so dangerous.
What is life in Waziristan like, and why is this poorly-known tribal region now home to some of the West’s deadliest enemies? For that matter, what is Muslim “tribalism,” and why has tribal life become an ever-more-obviously important factor in the war on terror? I attempt to answer these questions, and more, in a new piece for the Claremont Review of Books. It’s been years since a research project has shaped my understanding of the war on terror this much. [me no dhimmi too!].

  33. Charles:
I know why the Germans haven’t gone south in Afghanistan, it is because of Carnival!!
    http://www.ottawa.diplo.de/Vertretung/ottawa/en/06/Lifestyle__culture/b__Carnival__in__Germany.html
    “Rose Monday
    February 4, 2008
Swaying fools and singing jesters aplenty on Rose Monday in Germany
When people in Germany start wearing fake noses and fancy hats and begin kissing total strangers on the street amid hails of confetti and candies and shouts of «Alaaf» and «Helau», the German carnival has reached its climax – and that means it must be Rose Monday .
The day is marked by the huge masked parades held in the cities of Cologne, Dusseldorf and Mainz. Millions of people line the streets singing and dancing. This is a special day and in the Rhineland region of western Germany those who go to work are even considered to be fools themselves – even though Rose Monday is not an official public holiday.
Needless to say, the carnival centres are crowded with visitors.
When the Rose Monday festivities began in the early 19th century, the military customs of the unpopular Prussians were the target of ridicule. The first Rose Monday parade in Germany was held in 1823 in Cologne and was followed two years later by a parade in Dusseldorf and eventually one in Mainz in 1836. Since then, parades have been held nearly every year and were only interrupted in times of war or emergency.
Opinion is divided about the origin of the term Rose Monday. Some say it is derived from the Lower Rhine word «rhosen» meaning dashing or romping. Others attribute it to Rose Sunday (Sunday Laetare). On that day in 1823, the organising committee in Cologne prepared for the masked parade in a general assembly. Sunday Laetare is actually in the middle of Lent, after carnival. Since the Middle Ages, it has been termed Rose Sunday since the pope traditionally presents a golden rose to a worthy citizen on that day .
Rose Monday is the highlight of carnival, which depending on the region, is known as «Fastnacht» or «Fasching». Since the Middle Ages, the term «Fasching» has been used to denote the period between the feast of the Epiphany and Ash Wednesday on which Lent begins and lasts until Easter. Meanwhile, the start of the carnival season, which is also hailed as the «fiftth season» of the year, begins in many regions at precisely 11.11 am on the 11th of November. «Fastnacht» is celebrated mainly in Catholic regions of Germany. Huge parades are the exception in the Protestant north although children in northern German primary schools and kindergarten do celebrate Fasching and dress up for the occasion.”
    As Clausewitz observed:
“War is merely a continuation of politics,”
    which yields the corollary:
“Politics is merely a continuation of war by other means.”
So for Ash Wednesday we should expect the Germans to give up their caveats for LENT!!

  34. now warren kinsella has nazi white power images on his website. who thinks we should complain to the human rights commision?

  35. Watching the coverage of the storm damage in the US, I notice that people are out there cleaning up the mess, cutting trees, etc. They are not sitting and crying for FEMA to do it, or the PRES to do it, they are doing it. Power crews are out there, gas companies are out there. Disaster workers are out there.
Where were the people during Katrina-sitting doing nothing and waiting for someone else to come and do it. They are still waiting.

  36. 4 stitches later…
The other day I was stretched out on an operating table, being prepared to have a chunk cut out of my head. Gaaaawdy, did those freezing needles hurt! Too much sunshine in those early years, I guess.
Anyway, some of that freezing stuff must have gone farther in — I heard the strangest words from the surgeon. Little dead footballs or green animals or something like that. CFC or CBC. Davida Spoozuki? That’s it! the Davidian SDAs — no, no, Ellen White, not Green. Couldn’t be animals — SDAs don’t eat animals, dead or alive. He also mumbled something about global swarming, and some new mimetic dance-craze called the al-gor rhythm, or something like that. Ecofasting? I think I heard that too. That would be purple, not green.
4 stitches later, in the car (wife driving, I think), I puzzled with the ever-so-realistic hallucination. Finally, I blurted out: I know this sounds crazy but Dr. Slice told me about some guy, Davidian Spoozuki, who was chasing eco-friendly footballs on the remaining Arctic ice. Some white or green bears swarmed him but he invented some globally lucrative algorithm that took polar bears as input, and left loonies as output.
“It’s OK dear, we’ll be home shortly.”
Ahhhh, finally, the Internet and Wikipedia. Let’s see now: “dead, footballs, green, CFC, global swarming, animals”.
Nope, surely not: this wasn’t April Fools.
    Let’s try “ecofasting”. Nope. “Ecofascism”, that’s it! However — a warning…
“This article has been nominated to be checked for its neutrality.”
“The examples and perspective in this article or section may not represent a worldwide view of the subject.”
    Hmmmm, thought I. Eco-wiki,eco-opinion. Herd-turds.
Days later, got the 4 stitches out, and Google came to the rescue: “smalldeadanimals.com”. Is it really possible that anybody can blog opinions, ideas, dreams, hunches, impressions, hyotheses, observables, etc. without the silly antics of HRCs? How do those HRC traitors sleep knowing they are, bit by bit, destroying everything good while they bolster, chunk by chunk, everything that’s destructive to a viable society.
Liberalism, Conservatism, and other religions may have their deficiencies. But surely “Come, let us reason together” and “the truth shall make you free” are the very most fundamental aspirations of any culture, of any society, of any age. And the HRCs are determined to extinguish them.
Our real enemy, the one who wants to kill, is very alive among us. Few rebel, even with a whimper. Has the road-kill resurrected itself? I hope so.
    Noel
