From there things have gone at what seems like light speed: biopsy, blood tests, cancer clinic. It’s been two weeks from being completely healthy to cancer patient with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy scheduled.”
Two Weeks? Let’s see now: prostate cancer; 2 months to see a specialist; another 6 weeks to get a biopsy; and 2 1/2 months before surgery. And God help you if you should try to pay your own way.
Something doesn’t add up here.

That was a treat, and so was Dr. Hooks amazing quadruple yodel on the same site.
Y2K caused a huge spike in consumer spending.
Y2Kyoto, the “ideal” tax grab.
Y2Kilowatts, the forced switch from light bulbs — a big boost to “economic activity”.
Also consider; Because we live in a cold climate, Canadians have to heat their homes for about three quarters of the year. Incadescent bulbs turn approximately 85% of the electricity into heat.
Other than the few weeks of the year that the AC is running, the furnace will have to make up the difference. And in the summertime the lights are on very few hours each day. Just thinking.
No wonder consumers make up 70% of all economic activity ! Do Politicians, of all stripes, lay awake at night, scheming ?

Dion’s decision meeting resistance

Saskatchewan Liberal Ralph Goodale said there was a feeling in much of the party that another aboriginal candidate with strong credentials was needed in the constituency. Merasty was a former chief of the Prince Albert Grand Council.
Beatty was the first aboriginal woman and the first First Nations person elected to the provincial legislature and appointed to cabinet. (Her official letter of resignation as an MLA, dated Jan. 3, was received by the office of the speaker of the legislative assembly on Monday. A provincial byelection must be held within six months of Jan. 3.)
As well, Dion takes very seriously his commitment to have one-third of Liberal candidates in the next election be women, said Goodale.
“It’s sometimes necessary for the leader to exercise the appointment prerogative that the leader of the party has. It’s a power that’s used rarely and used only in the most appropriate of circumstances,” said the Wascana MP and former federal finance minister.
“What is important is for all of us within the party, Joan included, the leader at the national level and all of us who are campaigning on behalf of the party, to work very hard with those who may be disappointed, those who would have preferred a different process, to make sure they feel included and involved and engaged.”

Hey Gunny99, all cancers are not the same. Prostate cancer is historically a slow growing cancer while breast cancer may spread very fast. Some prostate cancer patients (normally found in males 50yrs and up)end up dying due to natural causes and not the cancer. Breast cancer can spread very fast. Remember the Antarctic rescue of the scientist/doctor diagnosed with breast cancer? Waiting until spring would have been a death sentence.
Your oncologist and cancer type should determine the course of action, not how many recordings you sell.
Joan Beatty was elected to the legislature for the NDP barely two months ago. Now she is running for the Liberals federally. Nice. How about Ms. Beatty get her cheque book out and stroke the provincial government a cheque for the cost of holding a by-election in her riding. Ya, I know, two chances of that happening – fat and slim. But what an absolute crock of crap and a total disregard for the people who pay her salary.

So from that aspect yeah it’s a potential.”
Ryan told us he’s conducted research of his own about secret government testing on the public. But he’s still a bit skeptical about chemtrails at the moment, especially considering that his Poison Control Center has seen no calls about barium exposure.””

Anyone watch the much over-hyped cbc series The Border last eve? Did any of you catch Graham Richardson on MDL last night letting the Liberals off the hook for their 13 years of inactivity on the environment file?
In discussion about carbon taxes, Jay Hill made a comment about the Liberals doing nothing for 13 years.
Richardson interrupted and said “yeah, but there was tremendous economic activity and you guys wouldn’t have done anything either.”
Unbelievable!!
So now watch for all the Liberals to start saying the same thing because as the CBC proved a couple of weeks ago, the MSM and the Liberals collude to come up with strategy and talking points.
If you feel like reading something laudatory about Pres. Bush:
By Fouad Ajami, http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110011098
“George W. Bush was at the helm of the dominant imperial power when the world of Islam and of the Arabs was in the wind, played upon by ruinous temptations, and when the regimes in the saddle were ducking for cover, and the broad middle classes in the Arab world were in the grip of historical denial of what their radical children had wrought. His was the gift of moral and political clarity.
In America and elsewhere, those given reprieve by that clarity, and single-mindedness, have been taking this protection while complaining all the same of his zeal and solitude. In his stoic acceptance of the burdens after 9/11, we were offered a reminder of how nations shelter behind leaders willing to take on great challenges.
We scoffed, in polite, jaded company when George W. Bush spoke of the “axis of evil” several years back. The people he now journeys amidst didn’t: It is precisely through those categories of good and evil that they describe their world, and their condition. Mr. Bush could not redeem the modern culture of the Arabs, and of Islam, but he held the line when it truly mattered. He gave them a chance to reclaim their world from zealots and enemies of order who would have otherwise run away with it.”

Thanks for acknowledging my topic. It seems difficult to get the crowd thinking beyond the GW box.
I think the point is with all cancers, you don’t know what you are dealing with until after the biopsy. Since it takes near a week for the lab to return the results, things sure “seems like light speed” for Bif. The Canadian Govt. used to put 4 times as much into breast cancer as it did into prostate cancer until a local millionaire embarrassed them into taking notice of it.
There seems to be “put-offs” men get about their PC. One you mentioned: they die with it not of it. My Father officially died of pneumonia, not the prostate cancer that put him into care home. He was only 79.
The other I hear is: “watchful waiting”, whatever the hell that is. In my opinion; that’s a put-off to men over 70. This I suspect is a form of medical treatment rationing.
PC doesn’t seem to have the news catching glamor that Aids or GW has, and there is no lobby group to face, thus it’s not a priority with governments.
Yes, clair voyant, watched Richardson sitting in for Puffy Duffy. Same old crap, he’s part of the crew, it’s generic, pathetic, typical mainstream media behaviour. Switch to our CBC network with Don Newman for more of the same.

Tories to CBC: Discipline meted out to reporter for colluding with Liberal Party must be public
[…]
January 8, 2008
Mr. Vince Carlin
Ombudsman Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
P.O. Box 500, Station A
Toronto, Ontario
M5W 1E6
Dear Mr. Carlin:
Back in December I wrote to you and asked that you, in your capacity as CBC Ombudsman, look into an allegation of CBC-Liberal collusion made by former Liberal cabinet minister and current TVA reporter Jean Lapierre. As you will recall Mr. Lapierre told a national television audience that CBC wrote questions for Liberal members on the House of Commons ethics committee.
On December 15th, Canadian Press reported that CBC spokesperson Jeff Keay admitted that a reporter pursued a story in an “inappropriate way” that was inconsistent with the Corporation’s “journalistic policies and practices”. Further, Canadian Press reported that the particulars of the matter were being investigated by the CBC and that disciplinary action was possible.
Given Mr. Keay’s admission to Canadian Press back in December, I was troubled to read his comments in yesterday’s edition of the Hill Times. Not only did he refuse to name the reporter who allegedly wrote questions for the Liberals he said he wasn’t sure when the CBC would be willing to do so. Further, he said he was unwilling to characterize the type of discipline the reporter could face.
Mr. Carlin, the CBC has already admitted that inappropriate practices were followed by one of its reporters. Given this I believe it is incumbent upon the Corporation to:
* Update Canadians on the status of the investigation and estimate when the investigation will be completed; and
* Commit to releasing the name of the reporter in question and outline what disciplinary measures have been or will be taken.
While recognizing that Mr. John Cruickshank has, according to CBC policy, up to 20 working days to respond to the substance of my December 14th e-mail I’d ask that you specifically assure me that the Corporation will commit to releasing the name of the reporter in question and outline what disciplinary actions have been – or will be – taken to ensure that Canadians view the CBC as a non-partisan source of news and information.
Sincerely,
Doug Finley
National Campaign Director
Conservative Party of Canada

Last week on Canada AM they did an interview over the phone I believe with one of the arrested. It was the usual MSM “terrorist-as-victim” pieces.
The guy went on about “I didn’t do anything wrong”, “I don’t know why I’ve been arrested”, “I have been in jail for X number of days unjustly” …etc, etc
I had to turn it off before I puked…
To Sammy: Yeah, I watched “Border.” Good program!! It’s fast, lots of action, and highly “believable.” If you’re from west of Winnipeg, it does a great job at portraying the “Snobish” parliament hill genre of Ontario attitude that is so despised here in the west. I give it two thumbs up!!

How a backseat driver could bring terror to new Dreamliner
…The technology used by the new generation of aircraft is now so advanced that aviation officials fear that terrorists could use it to fly the plane.
Aviation regulators have refused to certify Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner passenger jet until it redesigns its computer system to protect against such an event, The Times has learnt.
The Federal Aviation Authority is concerned that terrorists could use the Dreamliner’s in-flight internet system to connect to “systems critical to the safety and maintenance of the aircraft”…
