The world is cooling. Global temperatures have declined since 1998 and a growing number of climate experts expect this trend to continue until at least 2030. This, happening while carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions continue to rise, is in complete contradiction to the theory of human-induced (anthropogenic) global warming (AGW). The CBC and other die-hard AGW proponents respond by publicizing selected glacial melts and the impact of dramatic but improbable sea level rises, the only warming issues that seem to grab public attention.
A record number of floods, droughts and storms around the world this year amount to a climate change “mega disaster”, the United Nation’s emergency relief coordinator, Sir John Holmes, has warned.
Sir John, a British diplomat who is also known as the UN’s under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, said dire predictions about the impact of global warming on humanity were already coming true.
Lindzen doesn’t dispute that the planet has warmed up in the past three decades, but he argues that human-generated CO2 accounts for no more than 30 percent of this temperature rise. Much of the warming, he says, stems from fluctuations in temperature that have occurred for millions of years—explained by complicated natural changes in equilibrium between the oceans and the atmosphere—and the latest period of warming will not result in catastrophe.

Sir John has his head firmly ensconced up his ass.
Let’s see now…
2 credentialed climate scientists, as opposed to
1 United Nations muck-a-muck.
Hmmm, I wonder…
I say hooray for Richard Lindzen, and can we please get on with Jesse Helms’s suggestion of throwing the UN into the East River brick by brick.
A short primer on ice ages and planetary temperature variation over time can be had here, if anyone’s interested:

And let us not slight Kristen Byrnes a studious fifteen year old who debunks the Goreacle and many others! http://home.earthlink.net/~ponderthemaunder/index.html
The anthropogenic global warming movement:
It’s the religion that appeals to atheists, the organized rule that appeals to anarchists, the big business that appeals to greenies. Everything that these people scorn the rest of the world for is embodied in one movement that has their support.
The irony would be delicious if the stakes weren’t so high.
Al Gore to Finally Debate?
“Al Gore has refused multiple invitations to debate in-person about global warming,” said Steve Milloy, executive director of DemandDebate.com. “So we’ve decided to let video of his previous remarks do the talking for him,” Milloy explained.
In the first installment of DemandDebate’s “We Debate, You Decide” series, Al Gore ‘debates’ expert climatologists on the central issue of whether carbon dioxide drives global warming.
Al Gore says in the video that we’re witnessing an unprecedented level of atmospheric carbon dioxide that is driving global temperatures higher. But expert climatologists .- including Syun-ichi Akasofu, Tim Ball, Ian Clark, Piers Corbyn, Patrick Michaels, Nir Shaviv and Frederick Singer – say there is no evidence carbon dioxide drives global temperature change.”
“We’ll see what the public thinks after both sides make their case on a specific and narrow point,” said Milloy. “Global warming alarmists didn’t fare so well last time that happened,” he added.
Last March, the prestigious New York debating society, Intelligence Squared, sponsored a debate on global warming, which may be viewed at http://www.intelligencesquaredus.org/Event.aspx?Event=12. A pre-debate poll indicated that, by 2-to-1 (57 percent to 29 percent, with 14 percent undecided), the audience believed that manmade global warming was a crisis. But in the post-debate poll, the audience reversed its pre-debate views — the ranks of the skeptics swelled to 46 percent, the believers plummeted to 42 percent and the undecided declined slightly to 12 percent.

Ya know….maybe just maybe this climate thing could be real-Maybe.
But, if it is, why is it ok to just pay for “carbon credits” instead of using less energy?
Follow the money.
Maybe Gore should live like me in a modest home, drive a reasonable vehicle(Ford Escape- the winters here in SK can be brutal and my wife and kids will always have an AWD vehicle). Maybe he should stop doing things that use unnessary enery.
And he should still pay the credits.
Feel twice as good.
Now…..if they start on everyone for clean water and the poor future of our landfills maybe more will listen.
change is constant, be it climate, evolution or your frikkin underwear. when you wake up in the morning and you and yours are still living, breathing and thinking then all is good. Mother Nature speaks very slowly, her change can not be measured by our lifetime.
I think Penn and Teller have it right.
(Link too long)
Google video;
“Penn and Teller Environmental Hysteria”
The beauty of their video (16 minutes) is that it makes the modern environmental movement look to have its ranks filled out by really, really stupid people, which is, of course, absolutely true.
The big money is in ‘climate change’, the reality of climate doesn’t pay out too well, why bother…
Maybe Gore should live like me in a modest home, drive a reasonable vehicle(Ford Escape….
No way! Private jets and limousines is the only way to travel!
AGW is the bigger-than-life cause that pits good (us) against evil (them). Man is hopelessly moral. When God’s morality is suppressed, it is replaced with something else.
In this case, knowledge and worship of God has been replaced with worship of the creation. As predicted.

NASA reports only seem to get coverage when it suits a particular agenda.

haha…Tim Ball….not exactly an expert in the area of Climate Change, but definitely in the back pocket of big oil..nice try though.
ha, ha, ha Sean,
speaking of “nice tries”,
it seems that you cannot think well for yourself.
Some facts for you:
>Nearly all of Canadian oil and gas companies have their corporate headquarters in Calgary.
>Like many corporations and industries, the oil industry donates to educational institutions particularly in good financial times.
>The oil industry has donated much to the University of Calgary to make it a stronger and better educational institute and only an ignorant radical leftwinger would interpret that as being some sinister plot. This is where the supposed link is made to the oil industry however there is absolutely no evidence that any financial contributions to the U of C by any oil company were to be directed to or supporting D. Ball or any other scientist who has dissenting views on ‘AGW’.
>Dr. Ball is widely regarded as one of the foremost climate experts in the country.
>Real scientists expect their scientific research to be put up for open debate and discussion by fellow scientists as opposed to trying to stifle it.
> Many left wing radicals are making a concerted effort to silence any and all who dissent with their views on climate change. Those of course include some of the loudest AGW advocates, including politicians such as Mssrs Gore and Schwartzenager as well as Dr. Suzuki and David Stern who are NOT climate scientists.
> You should become aware that more and more evidence is showing major flaws in the AGW arguement, you obviously are not very well informed.
>One question for you Sean: Were you one of the followers of Dr. James Hanson from the University of Illinois who in 1971 predicted that we were about to enter into an ice age, and is now AGW fearmongering about the shrinking Artic ice?
>I would guess too that you were on the Y2K bandwagon also.
