  1. I am at this moment viewing “An Inconvenient Truth” for the first, and last, time. I’ve tried to keep an open mind to the possibilities put forward by the GW lobby, but this is the biggest farce I’ve ever seen. It’s actually an insult to rational thought. Doubters are equated to terrorists and the tobacco lobby. It reeks of rampant partisan politics, with the simmering rage of losing a presidential election as the backdrop.
A moral question? One needs to possess them to live by them.

  2. Surprised Al Gore’s ‘engagement’ isn’t sold out? Not at all. He peaked, he was a flash in the pan, he got his Oscar, and now like Michael Moore, he’s a joke. A caricature.

  3. A. Cooper,
Alright, far be it from me to defend Al Gore, of all people… but I’ve seen the film, and just when does he compare climate change deniers to terorrists?
I think the only allusion he makes to terrorism is that climate change is as big of a threat.
It’s important to be intellectually honest when criticizing someone, because it makes you the better person, even when the other side is not being so.

  4. How would you like to be the guy who was dumb enough to buy up a bunch of tickets on the assumption that they could be scalped?

  5. Did somebody mention trying to have “an open mind” when watching an Inconvenient Truth. This would require you to actually have a mind don’t you think? “They used big words so I shut it off because of terrorism! 9/11! Liberals suck! I wet myself!”
Sure am glad y’all ain’t going!

  6. I have not seen An Inconvenient Truth; I have no plans to see it. I have polled people about it, though. In that vein…
1)Does Gore use ANY science other than the ice cores?
2)Does Gore try to bulldoze through to people that sea levels will engulf huge tracts of ocean side cities, in some cases swallowing them whole… and all within a few dozen years?
3)Does ANY part of the movie play on people’s fears about climate without citing specific scientific data to back up what he claims?
I submit that if the preceeding answers are, in their turn, “no, yes, and no”, then the movie is a crock of crap. If there develops in the comments here a concensus that the answers to any one of my 3 questions aren’t what I tend to posit they will be, I’ll BORROW (not buy or rent) the movie and watch it.
I’ll bet that The Great Global Warming Swindle will prove out consideralby more factual and believeable than Al Gore.

  7. …pick me! pick me!
    OOOooooooooooOOOOOOOoooh what did i win?
Inconvenient Trash? Oh, ah, umm, never mind, I think I’ll be busy changing the synthetic oil in my H1.

  8. Gee..I’d sure like to go,but will be busy shopping for new SUV that day.Curious tho,if this big event loses money, who picks up Big Al’s tab???? Just how much does he get paid? And I’d sure like to see hard analysis of expenses for this Kyoyopalooza tour.

  9. Al Gore continues to make a fool of himself. Why ?
Suzuki swearing-mad on public TV. Why ?
Because they have lied to tens of thousands of followers and when this all hits the fan, .. lookout !!
There is nothing that puts people in a lynch-mob mood faster than knowing they have been had.
Especially middle aged hippies who know their resume’ will show they are unable to qualify for meaningful employment.
Without the Sierra Club, Pembina Institute, CBC, Suki Foundation, they are dead in the water.
Reminds me of the ‘Roadrunner’ cartoon, … when the shadow of the ‘big sucker’ comes over the ‘wild kyote’.
All the green lawyers and eco-money in the world will not be enough to save these two flakes from this mob.

  10. How many cdns did not march yesterday on behalf of kyoto. That should be the story, not the very few that did.

  11. Mike Brock,
Nice illustration of exactly what I am speaking of. *Of course* Gore does not come out and make a direct link to terrorists, but the inference is there–denying climate change is akin to sentencing future generations to acts of terrorism. It’s part of what I took away from this film, and was sharing it. Couching an accusation of dishonesty in benign language is no different.
    Have a nice day.
    Syntax,
I watched the film from beginning to end, and yes, with an open mind. I have no need use benign language with the likes of you.
    Go f*ck yourself.
    Small enough words for you?

  12. Just out of curiosity, did anyone get pictures of his private jet, limousine etc.?

  13. Is Cheryl Crowe going to be there to dispense single sheets of toilet paper at the bathroom doors?

  14. To Mike Brock – When you talk about being “intellectually honest” do you mean as in “Michael Moore, Al Franken, Alex Baldwin, Sean Penn, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and on and on and on ad nauseum”? When you get up tomorrow morning, instead of a bowl of “stupid”, how about a bowl of ” reality”.
