Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

sarge here . sarge thinks it would be more appropriate if that viscous liquid were dribbling out of the corner of the “great communicator’s” mouth. once a murderous killer of south american women and children and american nuns, then a senile combative drooler with depends pull up to mid chest. sic semper tyranus
You really ought to provide your real name, in order that your idiotic commentary can be properly attributed.
enough here. enough thinks it would be approriate for sarge to use proper punctuation, correct spelling and capitalization.
It may allow sarge to focus his thoughts and view things outside of his myopic tunnel vision. In sarge’s little world, Reagan gets no credit for ending the communist regime that held sway over half of Europe and was responsible for killing 10’s of millions of lives.
enough
The Great Ronald Reagan would have known you can’t win a war using half measures. The Great Ronald Reagan would have known you can’t win a war by appeasing a left wing bias press and left wing citizens who would rather give up everything they hold dear (which is nothing apparently) than defend themselves.
I too thought that was a bit ridiculous. Not only that, but the tear looks bad too. Sheesh.
Sarge must have had an extra bowl of stupid this morning. Sarge, you should never let your mind wander – its much too small to be let out on its own. Oh, by the way, I’d like to give you a going away present but first you have to do your part.
Liberal halfwits are always trying to play peace maker and doing a poor job of it while the peace symbol is a dove carrying the olive branch in his beak their symbol is a pink chicken running away
If anything, it’s MSM hubris which brings a tear to one’s eye.
I suppose the photo is suggesting that if Reagan were alive today he would shed a tear at the state of the conservative movement.
But, standing on the sidelines crying is the default response of the left. If Reagan thought there was a problem he would do something about it.
Wow. Someone should tell Mr. Photoshop Genius at Time magazine that tear ducts are a little closer to the nose.
Watch it ya dirty canuckleheads. old general bin warnin you about mockin my pal sarge. Yup, yer at it again, mockin and tauntin. Im the fella what has to hold him tenderly in my arms, and wipe away the tears caused by you, you, callous beaver people! I’ve had it! We’re coming up for our wedding and after that, forget it!!! Just forget it!!
I mean, uh, cut it out ya varmints. Gonna leap outa my computer and beat ya senseless.
sarge !!!!!!!!!! your an asshole.
pete
Sarge and General:
My congrats…can’t think of 2 people that deserve each other more than you two….when you get here for the cerimony, look us up, we’d be proud the shower you with “beaver pellets” ( Canadian rice) after the hitchin’ is done 😉
sarge here. I dun tuk mah meds now. all okay. Reagan not Satan. Bush not Hilter. Uh oh… Meds wearing off….
Hmmm…reminds me of a time when I worked in the media. Our news director wanted us to increase the amount of sound on our stories–for example, we did a story about the police getting tough of johns looking for a good time. The news director at the time had me go outside and record the sound of high heeled shoes on concrete to add “authenticity” to the story. It became a daily chore to make sure we got the appropriate sound bit to go along with the news story. Ack. The powers that be thought that it added to the story but I always thought it took away from it. There is waaaaaaayyy too much creative writing in our news as it is. Journalists, at least the good ones, keep to the facts and let the public take it from there.
tears do not have that much surface tension to be such a prominent and distinct droplet on human skin. usually you get the windshield effect where the moisture clings as it trickles down.
but, photoshop triumphs !!!
aint technology wunnerful !!!
the full gammut of human emotion now fine tuned digitally !!! LOL !!!
Kate et al: Sarge and Old General are obviously one and the same person and he/she/it is obviously commenting only to be a nuisance. My humble suggestion would be to ignore the troll or block the bugger’s access…but then again, I’m not as patient as some people are.
Geez Eeyore, go post at Cherniaks. (kidding!)
I am still wiping away tears from laughing at this thread.
sarge is a semi-regular, nut case in need of written English lessons.
General would be someone mocking sarge.
I am someone who needed a good laugh and received it.

Aside from the fact that doctoring an actual picture versus a painting could be deemed misleading to those readers who aren’t aware that it is ‘shopped, the question “what would Ron do?” is an interesting one.
Bear in mind that many, myself included, think that it was the withdrawal of the marines from lebanon after the bombing that happened during Reagan’s tenure was in part what encouraged the jihadists to the level they are now. If I recall correctly the withdrawal was done based on the advice of James Baker the co-chair of the Iraq Study Group.
Much as I admire Reagan I’m not so sure he would have been as forceful and hawkish as many reading this think.
A more interesting question from my perspective would be “what would Nixon do?”. Something secretive and very deadly to the leaderships of bothe Syria and Iran perhaps.
There’s nothing wrong with that cover. It’s actually well done. My guess the only reason commentators are finding fault with it is because some other right leaning fellow didn’t like it. Excess surface tension? Misplaced tear ducts? I didn’t know there were experts for that kind of thing.
What is it with leftists and cheating anyways?
Concrete / enough: maybe I’m just in a bad mood but I really can’t appreciate the humour in the sarge/old general schtick. They take up bandwidth without adding anything useful (except for the amusement of certain folks), and they tend to irritate people with their pointless and irrational comments.
But then again, my complaining about them is ultimately pointless too, so I guess I should have just kept my thoughts to myself. Sorry Kate!
