“So what is the big problem with the photo? No, it’s not Photoshopped. No, that really is Khatami. But it’s not what you think“.
Calmly

… the Sheik watched as the Marines detained the two young men in the house, volunteering that if they were “bad guys” he was happy to see them go. “You and I are going to find a way to work together to make this area better,” he told Lt Friel, “like Ramadi.” The Sheik added that it was “Iranians and foreigners” who were destabilizing his tribal area. “Iranians are forcing out the doctors and teachers. Soon this town will look like Afghanistan.”

Stephane Dion’s Green Scarf politics may turn out to be the most boneheaded strategy since Paul Martin decided to go on his Adscam apology tour.”
Read this. Then ask yourself how it would have been written, had this RCMP officer been a man.

  1. Adscam & Basi
Two words that send shivers down the spine of certain high-level federal and Ontario Grits, particularly the pompous and the bombastic. Indeed, with ongoing RCMP investigations and upcoming criminal trials on both fronts, many high-flying Liberals are thinking twice about potential ramifications as takedown artists and gluttons for punishment seek a combo plate of red herrings and fall guys to usurp national media attention from past mis-deeds and forthcoming public indignations. Indeed, a perfect storm of Liberal horrors is on the horizon. As a longtime Liberal, one shudders in disgust….-

  2. Latest independent poll shows Harper WAY ahead
Nik Nanos’ numbers are reliable. His SES Research was nearly exactly spot-on in predicting the exact results of the last election. (He was something like .03 percent off the mark).
Here’s the facts from his latest poll, just released, which you’ll no doubt not hear in the liberal media (they’ll wait until they can conjure one up with opposite results):

  3. Wasn’t David Collenette (sp) a name mentioned re adscam, or some liberal thing. His wife is planning on seeking the lib nomination for Ottawa Center, she was appointment head in Chretains PMO As well another profile female liberal. It is now held by ndp. Seems other wives of campaign managers for different liberals, senators. If dion needs women, who better to go to,than the wives of former chretain, martin, and other adscam insiders. Guess he figures these women can be led by the crooks who got away. Watch for nominations, supposed to in 2 weeks. Ottawa Center was held by the PCs for a short period under Brian. Broadbent and his successor have had it for a while. 4 high profile liberals who live in the riding are possibly going to contest it. 3 are women, including Collenettes wife.
Readers of SDA must pay attention to who is nominated in all ridings in Que and Ont, and find out their connections to the good old boys. One person can’t do it alone so we will depend on those living there. We here in Alberta can help if we know the names, as it is highly unlikely we will elect a liberal of whatever sex.
Anyone catch the exchange in QP when a Bloc member accused the govt of naming a conservative supporter from Alberta to the new justice committee of bias. The justice minister come back with, can the honorable member name anyone from Alberta who is not a conservative supporter. He sat down looking foolish. And what was Newman referring to when he told his panel that maybe he would have them next week, with a sly smile.
Then said it would all be explained next week. Is he quitting.

  4. Jury selected in adscam trial for Jacques Paradis (sp) trial to begin April 2. More trouble for dion, he thinks adscam is old news. This guy supposedly bilked the government of 98,000 in phoney invoices involving the Expos.
    national newswatch has the story.

  5. Pierre Bourque offers up a dire warning for Liberals tonight. Things seem to be closing in on them….

  6. Liberals propose changes to income trust tax
    http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20070213/income_trusts_070213/20070213?hub=TopStories
This has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard come out of ralph goodale’s mouth:
“He said the Conservatives had made a campaign promise not to touch income trusts, essentially feeding the trend, only to reverse their decision after coming into power. And the fact of the matter is that people poured money into the vehicle, new trusts sprang up like mushrooms, and the government seemed to be surprised that they had a problem on their hands — a problem that their promise caused.”
A year ago it was the uncertainty that the conservatives created that was the problem.. now the triggering event for income trust problem was get this… that the conservatives created certainty so people moved that way.
Shouldn’t any government try to create certainty in the market? Would the liberals intentionally create uncertainty in tax law to prevent conversion to trusts?
