Gone horribly wrong…

Update. Now, this is funny. Not content with going “wrong”, this particular Globe poll appears to have just gone away…

h/t – to those of you in the comments who have been following the poll results and examining source code.

I don’t know if anyone else has observed this, but I usually log-on around 3:00 a.m. Eastern, and if there’s a G&M Poll, (with more substance than “What’s your favorite color”?), invariably the input at that time is highly skewed towards the Global-Kumbaya-Multicultural-anti Bush-Warming crowd’s stance on that particular topic.
Later in the day the volume almost always moves the other way, which makes me wonder about manipulation, and, if this is the case, what would ‘pure’ results reflect?
Actually….I think that is a poll that went exactly the way it should have. As an Albertan, I would be much better off without those fwench-canukistani fart suckers in my wallet all the time. I hear they are asking for another cool 5 billion a year in transfer payments, and the immediate implementation of the Kyoto Accord.
It is time Queeebec learned the meaning of FOAD.
How has this poll gone horribly wrong?
and Better off withour Stephan Dion!
I think we’ve reached a tipping point!
I logged on and a message in red said, “Sorry, you’ve already voted in this poll.”
Heh!
It is horribly wrong for the G&M, looks good to me! Let’s get it done.
I think the poll was done among Bloc Quebecois members.
I think the poll was done among Bloc Quebecois members.
I didn’t even log on , and got the ” you have already voted ” message ” . Cherniak must be running this one as well . Be interesting if the results keep changing .
…ya gotta go in via the main page…
http://www.globeandmail.ca
Don’t use the link Kate has as they are probably blocking incoming IP’s from there.
I deleted cookies, files, history and came in manually and could vote.
“Sorry, you’ve already voted in this poll.”
I got the same message when I tried to vote with Mozilla, but it worked with IE (I don’t use IE).
More proof of vote rigging…
I blame Jean-Pierre Kingsley…it’s Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill all over again! 😉
That reminds me of an article I saw in the paper last week. Polls in Britain indicate that 52 percent of Scots want to separate and 60 percent of the English want the Scots to separate.
If Quebec separates I wouldn’t loose any sleep over it. They’d still let me go skiing there if I wanted to.
mbaron
For clarity it should have been noted that Dion has to go with Quebec.
What’s notable about all the latest polls is that there are none being published concerning the relative popularity of the major political parties. Could that be because Harper’s Tories have rebounded and Beaker’s honeymoon is over?
Would this be another poll gone horribly wrong?
I was born in Western Canada but have very close relatives from Quebec who are hard line separatists. They still talk about the oppression they experienced that pretty much came to an end some 40 years ago. However deep down what they are still really pissed at is France’s defeat on the plains of Abraham some 250 years ago. As a result Quebec continues to try and correct this by demanding vindication and ROC will never be able to satisfy their need for vindication because history pf course can never be reversed. So the ROC with all its good intentions will never appease Quebec so it is pointless to continue to try. However, be warned even after they separate and they have all that they want they will never, never and I mean never be satisfied simply because the need to vindicate that defeat can never be satisfied. So let them go and learn to ignore the whinning because it will never, never, and I mean never end.
I just went to try and view the poll results from the main G&M page and get a “Poll Results” page that comes up blank. What gives?
Just tried it in Internet Explorer (I usually use Firefox) and it says “Error on page” and that some object is missing, guess they’re having technical issues? (I can’t view any of the past poll results either)
CanForce 101, it is not unusual for strange things to happen to the G&M polls when the results are not what the G&M censors were hoping for. I noticed too that the results just seem to have vanished from the G&M site over the past hour or so. No doubt, it is simply a “technical” problem. The same kind of “technical” problem that seemed to surface when they got the “wrong” results on one of their famous gay marriage polls a couple months ago.
The clowns are so transparent, it’s sickening.
CanForce, I just noticed the same thing. I voted about an hour ago, not via this site, but via my Globe and Mail Bookmark. (Don’t even ask!) And, even via that site, the poll page is a big, white blank. I guess the unacceptable result needs to be whitewashed by these “tolerant, diversity loving” idiots.
Gee, Globe and Mail, now, like the rest of us lowly Canadians, you know what it’s like to not have god-like powers. Not nice, is it?
My advice? Grow up and smarten up.
I Voted, but it shows no results of the poll.
The French in Canada are dying off & have been for over a century. Vermont, New Hampshire with other areas in North America. Where totally French at one time.
Quebec, lost not only in war, but having a future. By not breeding any replacements to make a destiny, or place for themselves by procreation, healthily. They have been losing ground for a long time. Abortion with the Quiet revolution allied with the pill. Has increased the vanished people dynamic many times over.
Out West we have a baby boom. No counting the arrival of thousands of Canadians for jobs, or immigration by others here. In due time it will be of no matter who lives in Eastern Canada. Its population will be half of what it is today 20 years from now. While ours naturally has been increasing dramatically because in Alberta we have a middle class left, & social mobility. With hope for a better future. The future belongs to the fecund, not the flaccid.
Not socialism with no hope of gain in status or economically, except if one becomes an elitist threw political action. A static cesspool of people cast in concrete by their Master class. Fits right in with there Marxist existentialist dialectical nonsense. The only thing this ideology has breed , is mass murder with its only child poverty, on an masochistic level. They love death as much as the Jihadists.
Only if you are part of the Family compact aristocracy from the start or are married into this body of greed. The French part. Liberals in other words. The English side is not doing well now as well.
Like China will take over Siberia because of their slide towards extermination by selfishness, the West with America will fill the vacant lands of Eastern Canada.
The mathematics are impeccable.
No kids = no future.
Agree with Jim. I dream every night that the “fartsuckers” have left for good.
So Queerbec leaves and??? More bucks for the rest of us, and they can go suck to Fwaaannnccce to see if they want them…NOT. Unfortunatey, it will never happen because most of the sheeple believe that Canuckistan without Queerbec will not work. Again…NOT
damn . . how many times in one day can Jason Cherniak vote ?
Getting a blank page at time of writing.
Maybe the Globies have ordered their propellerheads to freeze it up until they can extricate themselves from this mess.
My preference for now would be for Quebec to stay conditional on some major changes on how this country is governed being implemented.
Bye, Bye Quebec, it hasn’t been good to know you.
…yep, 5:06MST just cleared cache, cookies, and history in both browsers, went back and come up with blank page, – blank as in the table cell that the results was to be in.
Looking at the code right now…
You think we’ll see a poll that attempts to uncover the reasons that more than 62% of Canadians are fed up with the endless leveraging by Quebec.
I’ve lived with the noise from Quebec for many, many years now. I’m now deaf to it. Leave already.
Let’s see the G&M spend some time thinking of why those who want to see PQ make good its threat, and poll for those reasons.
Here’s a suggestion for reason number one: have no further tolerance for being endlessly threatened while having pocket picked. It has nothing to do with French or culture – I could care less if you speak Klingon, drink fermented Yak pee and worship both Sun gods, I just don’t like being mugged for my entire life.
Can we help the G&M with other reasons?
I have spent much of my 25 years in Quebec and/or with french Canadian famillies and I think Albertaman has a point.
I was just over at the G&M site and saw no poll results so either they’re having technical problems or they shut it down.
46,491??
I find it hard to believe that 46,491 people actually saw the web page at the GobnMail!!
Ya gotta love a poll that backfires and blows up in the G&M’s face.
It will be interesting to see if they publish and comment on the results but I won’t hold my breath!
case in point, Monsieur Dion complaining how oil patch workers are greedy!
The poll at the link has all but disappeared.
Yup- it’s still blank. So, here’s another poll for ya: would you like a french quebec that fits in your car ashtray?
My, my … what an interesting blank results page, both in IE 6 and Firefox 2…
It would appear the Mandarins of the Fourth Estate don’t like the poll numbers they got from the unwashed masses…
Wouldn’t we just LOVE to have, say, a couple of independent teams of programming geeks and auditors look at the G&M’s poll database and server data???
I think they are faking a crash so they can avoid more embarrassment. I have been trying to vote for the past couple of hours and the page won’t load properly.
I think things are starting to change in the demented dominion. Perhaps we will get some reality before it’s over.
Poll questions the G&M was going to ask , but…..
1. Have you come to believe that Canada would be better off sending untold billions of taxpayer dollars to non-complying ( egChina ) Kyoto signatories ? YES/NO
2. Have you , as a Canadian , come to believe that Stephan Dion could win an English language debate with a kindergarten student ? YES/NO
3.Have you come to believe that Canada would be better off without these incessantly idiotic polls contrived by leftists to bolster their not so hidden agendas ? YES/NO
Answer yes to any of the above and you automatically are registered to vote in our next online poll.
The LPC appreciates any and all correct responses in advance . BTW we need $$$$$$$ , cash as always preferred .
Do you think that maybe Quebec, like the hated spoiled brat on the schooldground, will take a hint and just leave? I doubt it. There is no way that Kaybeckers could survive on their own. They are like our pet dogs now, we have fed and kept them for so long that they are no longer able to survive on their own.
But maybe, just maybe if we call them on their bluff they will quit trying to take more than their fair share of cookies out of the cookie jar.
I like most Quebecers and I think Canada would be worse off without them. But I can’t stand the ones that have this isolationist and inward attitude that Albertaman describes that is stuck somewhere in the 16th century. Anti-Afghanistan, anti-capitalist, anti-gun dirigiste nonsense…
But if their only attachment to Canada is a paycheck, I’d rather file for divorce…
I can’t believe they asked the question in the first place.
Ace kindly refer to the saying “pot calling the kettle black”.
Quebec has been at the trough for years.
Does the name Rory Fitzpatrick mean anything to you?
Poll questions the Globe & Mail were going to ask but thought better of .
1. Have you come to believe that the solution to ” Climate Change ” is sending untold billions of dollars of Canadian taxpayer money to non-complying Kyoto signatories (eg China ) ? Yes/No
2. Is it possible for Stephan Dion to thoroughly humiliate a kindergarten student in an English language debate on any topic ? Yes/No
3. Have you come to believe that Canada would be better off without these incessantly idiotic , never ending , self serving polls ( even when they go amazingly wrong )? Yes/No
Answer two or more correctly and receive your choice of
1.Free LPC membership
2.Free copy of yesterdays G&M
3.State mandated frontal lobotomy
“pot calling the kettle black”
I personally know quite a few Francophone Quebeckers that don’t agree with all the separatist, eco-terrorist socialist welfare nonsense, speak English and are very pro-Canada. They’d rather get on with their own lives, pay less taxes, and not raid from the English cookie jar. No really, I’m serious. So I’m not prepared to write them off completely just to save the rest of us. Things COULD change in the future…
But as it currently stands, I support a partition or at least a firewall of some kind.
Well, Ace, until some people, like your friends, decide to enter federal or PQ politics, their views appear to have little influence.
A firewall at least–but how?–I’d say.
Thanks to Kate we have it the results pasted in posterity. And, yup I voted to and did not get results. If I was a betting person I would hedge my bets on the ratio of “Go Quebec Go” increased exponentially as the day went on.
So, results, what results? There are no results so it is another non story the CBC and Asper papers can ignore. No headlines here!
So who from Canadas newsaper has a job
sorting mail tomorrow, or reporting from Iraq.
Call thier bluff..and soon! Feed the sepratist need and make real hay out the poll results….let them crybaby types there KNOW that we are tired of their BS, and then start turning off the tap…..I suspect that they will see that we are not interested in hearing them cry any longer. They will see that their ‘teat’ is about to dry up and make an abrupt about-face. It’s called TOUGH LOVE
The average quebec’er know what side of the bread is buttered on….maybe the Feds should say that unless a Fed-sponsered referendum is a whopping 80% in-favour of staying in Canada, we will KICK them out….see how they react then?
Pure fantasy of course, but we can dream…..
All the news that’s fit to cover up. How utterly and totally typical of the Canadian MSM.
THE WEST WANTS OUT
As much as I like Harper the numbers will be ALWAYS be against us. The numbers dictate that Harper must accommodate the east first or no majority. The numbers dictate that with a Harper majority the east will still dictate policy. The numbers dictate that the West will be sucked upon with or with out a Western Conservative leader. The only good thing is the sucking may slow down for a while. One term, two terms, then the sucking can begin in earnest. With me it’s not so much the money the West loses as the values, the morals and the ethics.
THE WEST WANTS OUT
