I wasn’t going to link this, despite several private emails about it. But on second reading, I can’t help but think this bit of “speculation” from a member of the Canadian progressive blogging community reads more like a confession than it does an accusation. So, let him wear it.
Now, returning to the surreal world…
Whatcott’s exploits caught up with him when he handed out flyers, revealing that Saskatchewan’s leading gay magazine, Perceptions, had published an advertisement for a man seeking a relationship with a boy. Whatcott distributed his flyers with the photocopied ad in Regina and Saskatoon, warning that the magazine was freely available to children in public libraries.
“I put very little of my own commentary. The ads spoke for themselves. For that I was fined”–in total, $17,500, Whatcott says. And, ironically, more was read into his flyers than was actually there, he says. “I’ve never said all homosexuals are pedophiles. That’s simply not true. But certainly I wanted to show what Saskatchewan’s largest homosexual magazine was up to.” Four recipients of Whatcott’s flyer saw things differently, however, and complained to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, with three of them subsequently netting $5,000 each and the fourth $2,500, to assuage their hurt feelings.

What we have here are more classic examples of the gays denigrating the homosexuals.
I followed your link Kate and read what that fool had posted. He is one callused individual. Snotty, self righteous, uncaring and brutal. He is one of the left wing spoiled rich kidos like the PET was – he is vile and his rants make me feel sick. How dare he make fun of other people’s misery?
Incredible… telling the truth is now a crime against humanity.
Tell the truth about what’s in a magazine, some preferred-by-the-left special-group members “complain”… and are thousands richer.
This is, in my view, a sort of nonviolent fascism. It is a violation of the Charter rights and freedoms of the person who distributed the flyers, in line with his rights. Apparently the Canadian state apparatus doesn’t give a crap about the Charter, nor the law. Too important to elevate certain groups far, far above others.
Wonder if the magazine has even been looked at by police? If so, why don’t they do something? Isn’t solicitation of a minor a serious crime?
Guess not, if you’re a homosexual. Guess we shouldn’t be surprised. All sorts of “special” groups are exempt from the law, like the Aboriginal terrorists/criminals in Caledonia and the naked gay guys in the so-called “pride” parades. Perfectly ok to break the law if you’re the kind of folk that certain politicians personally like and are willing to order the police to leave alone, no matter what they do.
That’s the truth, btw. Why else do police selectively give certain folks a pass on lawbreaking? Just following orders. And the orders come from politicians who control the police. That, in and of itself, I always thought was illegal. Can politicians legally tell the police to allow people to break laws just because they’re “preferred” group members?
Am I the only one asking these questions? Hello?
If some guy tried to advertise in a mainstream magazine for a relationship with, say, a nine-year-old girl, the magazine would naturally call the police on him rather than publish such an ad!
BTW, that “progressive” blogger, that Plawyucky guy, I note he has a picture of Che in his sidebar… big shock, eh?
Hmm… what does “progressive” mean, anyway? Does it mean whatever the left wants it to mean at any given moment?
What’s progressive about grownups doing it with children? Apparently the left thinks there’s something progressive about that.
The Nazis thought that genocide was progressive. Reminds me: how come the left isn’t calling for the end of genocides in Africa, North Korea, the Islamic World, as frequently and furiously as they demand we stop ensuring that Iraq and Afghanistan never again fall into the clutches of the butcherous tyrants?
Why did the left oppose the Free World’s stopping of the Serbs from wiping out the Muslims of Kosovo? Logically one must declare that the left wanted the Serbs to massacre the Kosovar Muslims.
Can’t trust the left. They’re clearly dangerous, as a group, as a movement.
I dunno, Kate. Seems to me that you should have gone with your first instinct and not bothered linking to this freak. Fringe-folk like this are better left without the extra free publicity. They tend to be twisted enough that any attention being brought on them is (to them) a validation of their wacko beliefs.
Those on the extreme left – from Lenin to Layton – believe that the ultimate proof that their position is correct comes from the fact that the majority (or “establishment”) thinks they’re wrong.
Yup, some groups are “more equal” than others in this country. At the end of an exchange on the Three Parent thread here at sda, I said to a supporter of this brave new concept:
“I don’t beleive we’re going to convince one another to change our minds, but I’ve appreciated our civil exchange. It’s too bad that this kind of back and forth doesn’t happen more often in the public square. Although you [who agree with the gay agenda] may make your arguments publicly, with impunity, people like me [who don’t] cannot: the spectre of Human Rights Commissions looms large. It’s ironic that some homosexual activists, who demand their rights, seem quite willing to truncate the free speech rights of those with whom they disagree and intimidate them with the possibility of heavy fines or even the loss of their livelihoods. (I’m not implying that you’re in this category. But it’s the ugly underside of the homosexual cause.)”
(I didn’t hear from my correspondent again.)
The long arm of special interest, PC politics is, as I’ve noted before, alive and well in Canadian schools, where, as a result of “mitigating circumstances”, troublemakers from certain groups in particular are let off the hook for even the most egregious behaviour. Those circumstances actually have little to do with the child but, in fact, fit the category of “We [the board] don’t want to deal with the political fallout of dealing with this kid’s dangerous behaviour, so we’ll keep it under the radar.” E.g., Don’t suspend a student with a lethal weapon or have a police report filed because the incident will then be on the public record. So, these kids are learning that they can get away with just about anything. Safe schools? Safe society? For the bullies!
This two tier justice is reprehensible and seems to be happening in far too many instances. Charter rights, my foot! They’re only available for select groups, especially, it seems, when they cause trouble. This isn’t going to lead to anywhere good.
Thanks, Canadian Sentinel and lookout, for your comments. Canada is well and truly a Banana Republic which, one sincerely hopes and prays, might be able to be turned around if the CPC stays afloat.
We–our children, in particular–have been thrown to the dogs, all under the “sanction” of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (yeah, right), which protects the so-called rights and freedoms of only certain groups. Sometimes I wonder if we’re any better than the Mayans who, in broad daylight, threw their babies into their sacrificial furnaces to appease their gods. Who are Canada’s gods?
Canadian Sentinel, you say, “This is, in my view, a sort of nonviolent fascism.” My only quibble is with your saying that this extraction of $17,5000 from the man handing out the flyers is “nonviolent.”
Unless he had $17,5000 to spare, handing out this amount of money to aggrieved (adult) tattle-tale- boo-hoo-hoo-toddlers (thanks for the apt descriptor, lookout) is definitely a type of violence. I’m sure Mr. Whatcott’s feeling that his rights and freedoms…hmmm…have been violated.
As a Canadian citizen, seeing this kind of thing happening, I feel violated and increasingly less secure in this upside-down, down-the-rabbit-hole country of ours.
the Eugene Plawiuk page doesn’t seem to load I wonder if he deleted it?

Does society care about protecting my son at all.
It’s always their rights they get the right to adopt children, vs children getting the right to live in normal house holds.
They get the right to sex with young boys vs the right of boys to be protected.
This is sick, that it’s condoned makes it far worse.
God bless you Kate for posting this. People need to know the true meaning of liberalism,
There is no end.
From viewing Eugene Plawiuk’s profile he appears to be a 52 year old nerd who stopped maturing at about 14 or 15 so his speculation about child brides is not surprising.
I’m sure that the NDP can count many geriatric teenagers in their party.
Funny you say that cal my brother in law is in his mid 50’s never moved out, his mom finally did.
Pays his car insurance etc, etc,..
Oh and big NDPer, I hope they die out soon.
This Plawiki mutt is pretty deluded….I bet he has the disembodied voices of brother Che and Alfred Kinsey giving him his “illuminated” ideas…the world is full of such demented creeps, why did the SHRC give them the right to escape the truth? I mean he describes himself as a pagan-Libertarian-Communist-illuminati?? But if you mock this self confession (IE tell a truth) t you hurt his tender feelings and he weeps to the SHRC for victim compensation cash????
Frankly anyone who can mutate 4 mutually exclusive ideologies to justify a personal self loathing and a philistine world view is really working too hard at being rediculous to bother with….particularly some quasi legal tribunal.
As for Walcott: he may be obnoxious but he speaks the truth as he knows it to be and he is inspired by a higher motive. I understand he was the victim of homosexual abuse and he now is on a crusade to save other children from (hetero & homo) sexual predators …..maybe his methods are crude but his heart is pure. Most of his opposition is more political in nature than principled.
This Plawiki mutt, OTH, seems mired in a life long struggle of self loathing and justification…The convolution of ideologies to lend validation to a distorted world view and equating personal moral struggles with communist class struggle mythologies is telling…this blog reads like one large Freudian slip….As Kate has pointed out, the innuendo of MacKay’s Pedopilia appears as a pure clinical example of projection.
I hope Whatcott refuses to pay the fines and we will see how far the “progressive libertarian communists” who support the SHRC star chamber can live with the incarceration of a guiltless man for exercising his right to speak the truth. It will be a political incarceration linear with old soviet statist mores.
This is the point where I see most “progessive” dogmatists become hypocites….they preach freedom but support the jack boot of the state to stomp out any dissenting speech.
Pathological liars think everybody is a liar. Wonder what this fat ‘Libertarian/Communist’ needs to admit? One thing’s for sure, by the look of him, nobody but his mother would be surprised to see his mug shot showing up in the dangerous offenders file.
But he’s closed down the comments.
Progressive?
“Buried in the term ‘progressive’ is the assumption that history is moving inexorably, even if by fits and starts, in a certain direction, one that is understandable to those who possess the secret decoder ring. To them, this is why government is so necessary. It alone can bring order to the chaos and messiness which individuals, left to their own devices, impose on their masters, and on the so-called ‘intellectuals’ who see so clearly what the rest of us cannot perceive.”
This commie bastard is only upset because he lost a lot of money filled envelopes from Sgro/Volpe bringing Ukranian women into Canda to be lap ancers and prostitutes.
One of my two kids, attending Peel school board school in Ontario, attended so called ‘drug, alcohol and tobacco’ class last year. He was provided comprehensive information on the ways to obtain and use all three. Guess the school board and minister of education have received quite a few letters from angry parents like myself, because there will be no planned continuation of that program in Ontaio. One of the teachers just told me that they will only cover fruit and vegetables this year.
Where was I? Oh, I mean, the letter writing campaigns, although time and labour consuming and costly, work wonders!
I would just like to point one thing out about Mr. Plawiuk – You can’t be a libertarian communist. The concepts do not mesh. A Libertarian believes that government should be as small as possible, as least intrusive as possible, and should do as little as possible to interfere in the lives of its citizens, and that whatever a person wants to do is all right as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else. A Communist believes in complete government intervention, complete government control.
In short, because he’s a Dipper Blogger, he’s more likely the Communist rather than the Libertarian in his description.
Irwin Daisy said “Buried in the term ‘progressive’ is the assumption that history is moving inexorably, even if by fits and starts, in a certain direction, one that is understandable to those who possess the secret decoder ring. Hey that’s an empirically precise description of the statist “progressive” Irwin who said it??
BTW: I particularly like the reference to the exclusive little decoder ring progressives carry which allows them to know what is best for all people 😉
Mean Eugene the commie machine, calls himself a Canadian “consultant” who lists “Marx” as his number one interest.
I’ll wager he’s a media relations consultant for the libs, dippers or unions.
Should be no problem getting dates with a C.V. like that.
The only way we will ever get rid of this nonsense is to get rid of the human rights commissions. Wonder how hard that would be. Seems to me there has never been a ruling that fits with tradition values from those hard lefties.
I would just like to point one thing out about Mr. Plawiuk – You can’t be a libertarian communist. The concepts do not mesh.
Agree.
Probably got the notion from Chomsky who, deadpan, calls himself a “socialist libertarian”. Another hijacking!
Other than getting this info out to the public,(can’t trust MSM) how can we help Mr. Whatcott?
W.L. Mackenzie Redux,
It was Thomas Lifson.

If pederasty is a sexual orientation, then, members of this oppressed and marginalized minority group should demand equality under the Charter, and judges should feel obliged to grant it, unless they do not believe in the equality guarantees which they themselves created.
I received Bill’s flyer in my mailbox last summer. If he was trying to inform me of the evils of being gay, he missed the irony of leaving a flyer with a picture on the top of two gay men, damn near getting it on. If I had kids and they came home before I did, checked the mailbox and saw that, I’d would’ve sued the guy too… he was distributing pornography to neighbourhoods of unassuming, ordinary, straight, gay, asexual, protestant, muslim, catholic, conservative, liberal, green party folks. And in the same breath, telling us how evil all of it is. Duh.
I enjoy my own life enough, I’m not worried if two gays or lezbo’s want to get married, hell let three of them hook up for all I care.
The parade that the gay community holds every year in town is kinda funny….If I had children, letting them see men in g-strings and blonde wigs may not be the greatest lesson on the fact that some people like to schtoomp with members of the same-sex, but watching people’s brains being blown out on the television ain’t so great for them, either.
Bill needs a vacation, quite badly. Too bad about the $17,000, he could have used it to spend a couple months in San Fransisco
Under whose authority (i.e. by what mandate and given by whom) is this tribunal which fined this guy?
Is it part of the judicial branch of the Canadian constitutional government? Or of the provinces’ charter?
I ask because it does not seem to be using normal rules of evidence and it is not really dealing with crimes per se. Where does its legitimacy come from? Who appoints, or selects, or elects the panel members? Any appeal to another forum?
Thank you DrWright…and this is one of many cases.
