“An abject failure in governance;

As recently as 1990, grain co-ops dominated the Prairie farm landscape; 80% of all grain grown in the region was handled by four co-ops: United Grain Growers, and the Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan Wheat pools. Fifteen years later, not one of them has survived as a co-op.

  1. Ontario Provincial Police, aka Keystone Cops; egg on their faces; not masks; not bandanas.
    Egg on their faces …-
“For the second time in 10 months, the Egg Farmers of Ontario marketing board backed by about 20 OPP officers cracked down on a farm east of here yesterday, and for the second time, the enforcement team left empty-handed.”
The Brockville Recorder and Times reports that when officers asked to look in the barns Paula Carmichael consulted the family lawyer and then asked them to leave as they had no warrant.

  2. Isn’t it ironic that the financial destruction of the primary producer “self help” co-ops and pools was no doubt brought about by MBA bearing consultants and finance gurus who advised the boards and presidents to borrow and invest in infrastructure.
This is the identical financial M.O. former IMF “economic hit man” John Perkins describes in his recent book, Confessions Of An Economic Hitman. The beneficiaries of this discredited financial model are the same suspects, trans-global public companies with zero interest in the commodities being traded (except as a cash equivalent)international financial institutions, and globalist bureaucrats at FAO.
Meanwhile the entire knowledge-base of generations, handed from father to son, is being lost and some of the most productive land in the world is being snapped up by cash rich corporate speculators (whose coffers are loaded with subsidized per acre grants for not growing certain crops or price supports for growing favored export crops). The legacy will be sons working for global behemoths driving tractors for 15 bucks an hour on land their fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers pioneered.
Somehow this doesn’t seem a good thing for people who eat. When the top 50 commodities traders at Goldman Sachs EACH recieve a $25 million bonus for their fine work it tells you a lot about where the money has gone.
Sorry to be so blunt so near to Christmas, but it is really time to reconsider some of the so-called conservative assumptions about “free market” reform.

  3. Funny, when the left introduces their own viral sound bites (hidden agenda, neocon, far religious right, mean-spirited), the media takes it and runs with it, without question. If the right points out that it’s foul play, we’re criticized for being overly sensitive.
French citizen surrender monkey, Dion, is the gift that’ll keep on giving right through the next election. The proof is that the left keep licking at it. They are wounded and scurrying off into a hole. Let the hounds loose. Let’s chase them down and finish the job.

  4. just out of curiosity, howcum the chief of dipwa… er, cops here in the biggest hick town on the continent didnt also get suspended for saying precisely this about a gunman let out on bail and who subsequently disappeared?
beat cops get it in the neck for saying the truth but the power boys say and do as they choose?? is there a pattern here??

  5. As for CAIR, they’ve set up a hotline for victims of discrimination. Infidel bloggers and LGF is suggesting that all infidels phone the hotline.
    A few questions to ask:
Why is a Muslim woman worth half of a Muslim man?
Why is a non-muslim worth one tenth?
Why are Jews banned from Saudi Arabia?
Why do Muslims believe that Jews are the sons of monkeys and pigs?
Why is it illegal for other religions to proselytize, let alone exist in Muslim countries?
Why are killers of non-Muslims called martyrs and given a free pass into heaven?

  6. Ask any policemen if we even have a Justice system anymore. There answer is inevitably “we only have a legal system” . Nothing to do with Justice.
Indeed we have many layers of mini Popes who all think there infallible, known as Judges. They are unelectable & chosen by political affiliation or whimsy. Perhaps because they know people. Never for competency or legal practice. Besides this the law profession in its many guises is riddled by nepotism & social inbreeding.
As soon as there posteriors clue themselves to the bench they take on a phony gravitus, with an equally strong sense of hubris.
We keep hearing for cries of more police. The real problem though is not there crime solving records, which are usually good. It keeping the offenders in jail for more than 10 minutes. That’s the real concur in this drama. You can have all the police in the world but if the c0ns just get a free pass jail card what good does it do?
Their crazy ideas on the cause of crime (That’s anyone who works or has kids. In other words society.), with a penal system set up for mafia Dons. All the luxury’s included.
The fact that race , gender, ethnicity or even citizenship are used as gradients of crime. Not the actions of the perpetrators nor there responsibility as individuals. Illegality becomes collective to fit socialistic ideas of criminal acts. Some pigs are more equal than others scenario. Depending on who’s PC or not. Smokers are treated worse than killers these day’s. It is not an equal system but twisted by racism.
Youth crime has become a rite of passage for some , since there are NO consequences, Heck even mobsters are using them for death hits. Fagan gangs as we call them are erupting like Mushrooms. Use children & there is penalty. It encourages in fact the very evils it imagines it slays.
I predict unless we throw out the liberal socialist love for criminals, & so called rehabilitation. Which is more of an excuse to give them schooling with other benefits including sex changes. Hard working citizens would never be able too, if they wanted. Its obscene. Keeping in line though for liberal thinking. After all there above the law & have made it so.
Folks will start to take the law in there own hands. I doubt by that time the police will care. It will have devolved into a state of chaotic flux into one where the strong man rules for considerations. In other words just like third world Nations with there cult figures with military police on the take..
Lets find a way to hold these so called nobles of law to accountability. Threw elections or a system, to try there own competence. Reform is a must. Anarchy will follow if nothing changes in this land of lawyers with an endless supply of clients. Some seen twice a week for other crimes. A gravy trim with no stop. They have helped create this internal break of civility by there greed. Time to hold them to the fire as well. One only has to view Caledonia to see the future writ, in leftist disappearing ink. Appeasement to crime & barbarians. The Judges follow there political masters like step ford drones.
There are many good judges, just they never get the recognition or advancement. There tainted by truth! Now it seems even the police have to make up holy lies to the lefties, to not rock there ship of stones, or there tales of Utopian delirium of men all doing right if only we where truly communist. What a load of manure.
    Just my opinion.

  7. Laura kept running alright, .. right off the edge of her flat Earth. What a twit.
Kate, someday do a post on those (media, prominant persons) that backed other Hoaxes in the past. Y2k, Alien Crop Circles, Global Cooling of the 70s, ect.
But especially the DDT Ban Scam. The Ban killed millions (Malaria) during the past 4 decades and so now the World Health Organization (WTO) has lifted the Ban. Many prominent eco-activists(terrorists) and groups worth $millions were responsible for this debacle, no ?

  8. Street clashes flare in Copenhagen, 300 arrested
    Sat Dec 16, 2006 5:44pm ET
COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – More than 300 demonstrators were arrested in the Danish capital on Saturday after violent clashes between police and youths who were protesting against the planned closure of a youth center in the city.
Several hundred demonstrators threw cobblestones, bottles and fireworks at police and erected blazing barricades made from Christmas trees, trash cans and bicycles, police said.

  9. A group of prominent Saudi clerics released a statement Dec. 11 calling for Sunni Muslims around the world to unite against Shia in Iraq, although the statement did not go so far as to call for a jihad. The statement was signed by 38 Wahhabi clerics and preachers, including Sheikh Safar al-Hawali, whose ideas influenced al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

  10. What I would love to see/read is a speech and pic of some expert defending the DDT ban, global cooling etc (probably some hollywood star) by Gore, Suzuki, Greenpeace or other guru and then questioning them on it. Then ask them, if you were so wrong about that, why should we believe you now. Should be an interesting interview. We could also include members of parliament or congress or leaders of parties. It would also be interesting to go back and investigate all the envirowackos dire predictions of the past 30 years with the facts of today re elimination of species etc. I think our great grandchildren will be seeing the truth of these scams on the history channel, or a Myths Exposed series on TV and asking, how could people be so stupid.

  11. The g&m has a story on France pulling its elite troops out of Afgan. If coward dion continues to push for bringing our troops home will he be accused of being in Chiracs pocket, a chiracpuppet, chiraclite etc., by the media. Will Parrish stomp on a chirac doll. Will anyone say, french, I hate those bastards. Will cdns boycott french travel, or products. Should be an interesting turn of events.

  12. “… myths exposed .. how could people be so stupid …”
Not really a case of people being stupid. More a case of being fed a line of bs by the Media before the era of Blogs.
I very well remember the “news” of how DDT would kill us all. As is revealed now by the Internet, there WERE people back then questioning the value of a Ban. But the Media-Producers would, and still do, only report on like minded Hippy-mindless-protestors. The bias, largely resposible for millions of deaths due to malaria, should be the subject of a liable inquiry. Some of these eco-organizations and their supporters, the Media Barrons, have $millions in assets.
    Two questions;
How many have heard of David Suzuki ??
How many have heard of Dr. Patrick Moore ?? greenspirit.com
One of them is largely responsible for the lifting of the Ban. The other …….
And to think the DDT Ban Scam pales in comparison to the Kyoto Hoax.

  13. interesting to read of late of a possible connection between malaria and the super high infection rate of Aids where malaria is common, with some now suggesting that malaria infection leads to a lowered resistance to Aids… hmmm, does this mean the left will learn to love DDT ?

  14. Malaria problem solved. BS is on the case. Her pet project is raising money and awarness of netting for beds in Africa, to stop the spread of malaria. She wants gift certificates for netting for Christmas. She will run in the next election.
Wonder how many of her millions she has spent for netting. Problem is, as I see it, netting only protects you when you are in bed. DDT spraying would protect you when you are awake. Giggles was all excited to be interviewing BS today.

  15. VANCOUVER – B.C.’s former top Mountie is promising ‘’total dedication and commitment’’ to her new job as temporary head of the force.
    Beverley Busson, …-
SOW is ecstatic; will have a press release out ASAP, praising the ….

  16. DDT was never fully banned. Nor was it ever fully effective in the campaign against malaria, because mosquitoes developed resistance. The WHO recently decided to endorse its use, indoors, to minimize the resistance problem and the harm to non-target organisms (such as birds and fish).
Just because DDT is getting more use now doesn’t mean it’s harmless. Tradeoffs, folks. There are no total solutions.

  17. Re possible cabinet shuffle. Why are the liberals being so hard on Rona, for doing nothing in less than a year, and defending Dion for doing nothing in his term because he was only there for 18 months. The fact the libs were there for 13 years, signed Kyoto and did nothing, except plan to send millions to China to buy hot air credits. Dions mouthpiece on giggles today said he misspoke when he said he would defeat the govt on the budget, without even seeing it. Oliver stated to Prentise that he thought Caledonia was over and done with, until the arrest yesterday. And for those wondering what is in dions backpack, maybe it was CWB documents to be shredded.

  18. mounties always get their man eh?
were they spying on ALL party leaders in this time? or why just the left leaning one? why is that? what is so abominably bad about universal health care the proponent gets tailed for 30 yers by the national police? just think, if he ever got into office by some miracle, how would they explain the sizable dossier? oh, right, shred it on election night….

    Mounties spied on Tommy Douglas
    Dec. 17, 2006. 05:53 PM
    JIM BRONSKILL
    CANADIAN PRESS
OTTAWA — RCMP spies shadowed Tommy Douglas, the fabled Prairie politician, for more than three decades, from his early days as a young firebrand through a tumultuous tenure as NDP leader.
A newly declassified file on Douglas shows the Mounties surreptitiously attended the witty orator’s speeches, dissected his published articles and, during one Parliament Hill demonstration, eavesdropped on a private conversation.
Douglas, a trailblazing socialist committed to social reform, drew the interest of RCMP security officers through his longstanding links with left-wing causes, the burgeoning peace movement and assorted Communist Party members.
In the late 1970s, as the veteran politician neared retirement, the Mounties recommended keeping his file open based on the notion “there is much we do not know about Douglas.”
The 1,142-page dossier, spanning nine volumes, was obtained by The Canadian Press from Library and Archives Canada under the Access to Information Act.
Personal files compiled by the RCMP’s security and intelligence branch can be released through the access law 20 years after a subject’s death. Douglas died of cancer at age 81 in February 1986.
Widely hailed as the father of medicare for championing universal health services, the influential Saskatchewan politician was voted the greatest Canadian of all time in a popular CBC contest two years ago.
Daughter Shirley married fellow actor Donald Sutherland. Their son, Kiefer Sutherland, stars in the hit television series 24.
A Baptist minister, Douglas entered politics upon seeing the toll the Great Depression took on families.

  19. Chavez Concentrates Power Socialism
Fresh from an election win . . .
[Translation of speech in Spanish . . .
As socialism is a long term project the more immediate task is creating a single political party not the current lettered soup of parties. Parties that do not want to participate in the formation of this new party are completely free to go their own way. But they will have to leave the government. The seven million votes were not votes for individual parties, they were votes for Chavez.
There were 32,000 electoral workers in the campaign for the December 3rd vote. They will be the basis of the new party.
The name of the new party is the United Socialist Party of Venezuela. The name is not yet a definitive one. [ USPV? ]

Triple UGH. That’s the worst (US) pick ever. That magazine [Time] truly sucks.
I’d agree with Harper as newsmaker of the year in Canada, though. No contest, in my book. He’s stumbled, but he’s done really well. I’m taken aback by NDP (part-time) employees who grudgingly confess admiration for his decisive manner, if not his beliefs, and diehard lifelong Liberals who’ve announced they’ll support him next time at bat. I think he’s sitting pretty in the next election. We’ll see. …-

  21. meanwhile over at the World Bank, aka loan shark to the 3rd world, paul wolfowitz previously of iraq war fame has chased away fully HALF of the senior staff in place when he arrived.
    not a good sign.
but he was george dubya’s mouthpiece so we really should support him !!
how bad do you have to be to convince that many top level people to pull up and walk away?

  22. Under the “DOH” department:
CINCINNATI — A 13-foot boa constrictor wrapped itself around its owner’s neck and killed the man in his home, authorities said.
An acquaintance found Ted Dres, 48, inside the snake’s cage Saturday and called police, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office said.
The snake was still strangling Dres when deputies arrived, and the officers had to work with members of an animal protection group to remove the reptile, the sheriff’s office said.
Dres’ snake will be kept at an animal shelter awaiting instructions from police or Dres’ family, said Andy Mahlman, spokesman for the Cincinnati Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“People who keep these type of animals as pets should know exactly what they’re doing and what they’re capable of,” Mahlman said.
He said he has seen photographs of reptile owners posing with snakes coiled around their necks.
“They don’t realize they could be a few seconds away from death,” he said.

  24. I’m becoming paranoid. The French will continue to provide air attack support and military training in Afghanistan, but they’re pulling out their special forces, giving their fellow French citizen Dion an anti-Harper Canadian newspaper headline, “French Pull Troops out of Afghanistan”.
    I question the timing 🙂

  25. Gagliano said while testifying at the Gomery Inquiry:
    “Of course, there were others.
There was Mr. Stéphane Dion who looked after getting the messages across.”
Dion was a member of the Librano$; sat at the AdScam table divvying up the loot from the Sponsorship theft; stashing the $$$$ where?
Are Dion’s hands clean? Why did Dion, who sat under the AdScam money-tree, not blow the whistle on the “others”. Dion was complicit in the massive fraud called AdScam.
Dion read the “messages”; directed the $$$$ to the admen and others.
Dion says he knew nothing about AdScam. Dion’s integrity is not credible. Is Dion a liar? Is Dion, a menteur, as his countrymen in France would say?
Now, Dion is off to Bay Street: diving for $$$$$
STEPHANE DION MAKES HIS BAY STREET DEBUT
Stéphane Dion, whose profile in Corporate Canada is perhaps the lowest of any Liberal leader in recent memory, is preparing for his first glad-handing session with Bay Street,

Liberals in Quebec reject Trudeau; would be a “disaster in Quebec”. Tell Justin to get lost in Toronto; those suckers will take anyone. Ah, but that Sacha….

He would be a disaster for a Quebec campaign. He’s a loose cannon. Remember his comments on how the Liberals should lose the election. Maybe get Sacha to run in Mount Royal, that would make much more sense.
The next campaign is going to be really hard in Quebec, we don’t need Justin Trudeau on top of that. …-

  27. Constable Horne’s frustration should not have been taken out on a mere “Justice of the Peace”. His frustration should be with the judges who meat out meager sentences to habitual criminal and the parole boards that have released this guy so many times before. Even though he had some 65 previous convictions, presumption of innocence is still paramount. The JP was merely doing his or her job. If she/he would have ordered him detained an appeal to the courts probably would have released him.
Having said all that, this is a prime example of a justice system gone missing. At what point does our system say, “you have been convicted once too many times and now you will spend the rest of your wretched life behind bars”?

  28. Dion on Bay Street, that should be a hoot.
There may be a communication problem, many of them don’t speak French and he doesn’t speak English well. They’ll really have to listen hard.
