  1. Why Women Aren’t Funny
What makes the female so much deadlier than the male? With assists from Fran Lebowitz, Nora Ephron, and a recent Stanford-medical-school study, the author investigates the reasons for the humor gap.
    by Christopher Hitchens January 2007
Be your gender what it may, you will certainly have heard the following from a female friend who is enumerating the charms of a new (male) squeeze: “He’s really quite cute, and he’s kind to my friends, and he knows all kinds of stuff, and he’s so funny … ” (If you yourself are a guy, and you know the man in question, you will often have said to yourself, “Funny? He wouldn’t know a joke if it came served on a bed of lettuce with sauce béarnaise.”)…-

  2. “even if the greed of a few perverted the intent.”
    Liberal admits:
The Liberal Party of Canada is guilty/culpable for the theft of tens of millions of Canadian taxpayer’s $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Yet, this Liberal cannot say: Mea culpa.
Liberal admits AdScam was a Liberal/Librano$
    perversion.
This is the next-best to an admission of
guilt/culpability for AdScam, by any Liberal,
    seen on the Internet.
Yet, TDH says: the Librano$ were just a “few” Liberals: (the rogue Liberal defence, again)
leaders AdScam Chretien-Martin were moving “the country ahead”, you see.
No. The list of those culpable are here: The Gomery Inquiry… which includes Chretien-Martin, and,
    Citizen of France: Stephane Dion.
Document Prepared by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat for the Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities.

    TDH says:
“What is the point of moving the country ahead if
not everyone can enjoy the spoils of the success?
Say what you want about the Liberal party,
but this is an outlook that always guided
the likes of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin,
even if the greed of a few perverted the intent.”

  3. Anniversary of Communist ‘lesser evil’ of 1981
    (see large picture gallery)
    Radio Polonia ^ | 12.12.2006
One hour before midnight on December 12th 1981, all telephone connections in Poland had been broken. Radio and television programs had been discontinued at midnight. Army units with tanks and special riot police squads rolled out of their garrisons.
First arrests were made among Solidarity leadership and the most active union members. During the night, with the official date of December 13th , the State Council issued a decree proclaiming martial law throughout the country.
The erstwhile Communist rulers with general Wojciech Jaruzelski at the helm of the Military Council For National Salvation assumed absolute dictatorial powers. Justification for the action had been alleged attempts by Solidarity and the pro-democratic forces rallied around this first independent trade union in the then Communist block to take over the country. In the opinion of Communist party bosses, the very mention of such scenario could trigger a Soviet military intervention from the East.
On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the imposition of martial law in Poland official commemorations have started in Wroclaw, the capital of south-western Lower Silesia. Special scientific sessions and public gatherings are held throughout the country.
In Warsaw, as every year since democracy had been re-established 17 years ago, a night vigil will be held in front of general Jaruzelski’s house by many relatives and friends of the victims of martial law to remind its author of the tragic consequences of that decision.
Public opinion in Poland as well as historians remain divided on the quoted necessity of introducing martial law as a ‘lesser evil’. …-

  4. The NSA and Princess Di (was Clinton spying on her for a date?)
    Copyright 2006 The American Spectator ^ | Monday, December 11, 2006 @ 7:16:07 PM | Posted By: Jed Babbin
A Brit newspaper is reporting that the US “secret services” — presumably the CIA and NSA — were spying on Princess Diana, bugging her telephone conversations in the summer of 1997, up to and including the day she died. But why would anyone bother? The British royals aren’t much involved in politics or matters of national security.
There’s only one reason I can think of. Was Clinton wanting to get the lowdown on her before asking for a date? I am pursuing other information from experts, trusted sources, and the usual suspects
