By the time Paul Martin had become prime minister, evicting Jean Chrétien from 24 Sussex Drive, the field of battle had been littered with the political bodies of those who stood in his way. British Columbia was a key province in the Martinites’ war for control and his lieutenants here were bloody-minded in the extreme.
[…]
[Mark Marissen] was Martin’s top lieutenant here and half of what was once B.C.’s top power couple. His wife, Christy Clark, is a former deputy premier to the B.C. Liberals’ Gordon Campbell. Marissen is now the organizational brains behind Stephane Dion…
As the party convenes to “renew itself”…
[Erik] Bornman is scheduled to testify early next year as the Crown’s key witness against former friends David Basi and Bob Virk, the fired ministerial aides he is alleged by police to have bribed in exchange for confidential government information on the $1 billion B.C. Rail privatization. Bornman, an amateur photographer, B.C. lobbyist and former Paul Martin aide, became known as “Spiderman” for his late 1990s break-in to B.C. party headquarters, where a federal membership list allegedly resided.
Bornman’s brother is working on the Dryden campaign.
Clark’s home office was searched by police, who allege in unproven police search warrant “Information To Obtain” or ITO documents that documents related to the cancelled B.C. Rail Roberts Bank privatization deal that was worth $70 million were passed by Basi to Clark. Clark does not face any charges. Not surprisingly, Bruce Clark is another enthusiastic supporter of Stephane Dion.
Political party or organized crime family? With the Liberals, it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference.

This whole Liberal election is a farce.
Its not about democracy, but back room deals, you do this and you get that. Some of the deals are
going to come out in the next election if they win, and we will all lose as tax payers. If they were concerned about democracy, they would give card carrying members a code and they can vote on the internet for who they want. I don’t see this ever happening in Canada, from any party. The corporate power brokers would loose control.

as I continue to watch this “train-wreck” happening, just watched the totally non-partisan media in action again!Anyone else notice Bob Fife with his arm around Coderre, patting his back, almost in sympathy for Iggy’s poor showing!Just can’t visualize him doing this with Stock Day,Toews, none of the Cons.Hmmm, can you say, media bias??
Lloyd Robertson is a little too eager to ask the NDP and Conservative guests who they want to win, so they can run against them later to beat them.
I think a more important question is who would best lead the Liberals away from their scandals. Why focus on the negativity and partisanship. Wishing a flop on your opponent isn’t very classy.
This whole process looks like it has been to stop Iggy and Bob. What I can’t believe is CTV has dragged Trudeau’s kids into this. Boy once your Daddy was the PM it looks like you get a job in the giant media gang. Bob Fife, Lloyd Roberts aka all the gang should just stick an “L” on their forehead. Stands for Losers and Liberals. Oh yeah, can we say goodbye to Scottie now????
Kate, maybe you should put a big banner with just the eyes staring out at your readers on the top of your blog like Kinsella and Dion have done. /s
It looks so creeeepy.
Go Bob go. I hope Rae wins. If he does then the Cons will have a majority and the NDP will become the official opposition. Then what is left of the Lib’s will merge with the Bloc or become junior partners. Go Rae go. Just my 2 cents.
Bloody incestuous aren’t they?
well I just printed that hugely on my trusty ol’ sansung 1710 and am headed over to the newly minted ‘con’stituency hq’s of mr newly minted lieberal mp pearson to tape in on the front window for all to see.
As we get used to getting more info, more truth thru the blogs and the net, I have given up expecting to read about this tomorrow or hear it on the so-called news. I’ll try to ‘share’ the info with a few Red Star readers and get the usual blank stare. During the last election when it was obvious that Harper was trying to clean up Ottawa the usual pro-lib response was ‘He won’t make a difference…politicians are all the same’
Well for the Libs it’s same old crap, different day.
I will get this in print too.bollock…keep us posted…I’d love to hear the rest of the story.
It’s no more amazing than the mob & gang guys that hang out a certain places and make no bones about who they belong to and it’s not rocket science to know what they’re up to….and still they go on.
The Liberals are the same. A century of crime and still they go on. Oops!! Sorry about that, they’ve been reinvented. All is forgiven. You can come home now.
