Read Chretien’s interview on CTV. His biggest contribution in his view to the Lieberals was winning 3 majority elections. Not any major legislation or benefits to Canadians, cause there wasn’t any, just winning elections for his fellow Liberals. When asked what defines a good leader he said

I saw Dion and Kennedy’s speeches. I thought GK gave a gret speech (passionate). He’s the only one talking about change and reform in the party. A couple bits of irony came to me. If the Libs are so great why do they need to change? If the need to change is so great why are they not all talking about it? Also I wondered how our country fell apart so quickly. Harper has been our PM for what, almost a year now? Apparently Harper is responsible for all things bad. Never mind the fact he’s only been in power for a year and that with a minority.
On a side note my nine year old child was watching those two speeches with me and kept yelling at the tv that they were lying.
Watching late ctv news and you can tell the report was done before the first ballots were counted. CBC panel is ready to throw in the towel for iggy, and one even predicted a final ballot with neither Rae or Iggy on the ballot, and wondering where they would move.
Scary thought, if Rae wins, he will need to appoint an interm leader till Harper calls a by-election, (he can wait 6 mos, what revenge for all the bashing) and as Joe Volpe was the first to quit and go to Rae, guess who that leader might be. Again, what revenge. Another lost opportunity for Scott. Lots of praise for Dion coming 3rd, by 2 votes over Kennedy. Second ballot should be fun. 6000 delegates eligible to attend, 4900 registered plus about 800 other exofficios. But only 4815 voted 1st ballot. How many will turn up at 9a.m. to vote tomorrow. Too bad I am a scrutineer for 4 hrs tomorrow so will miss all the hoopla.

This whole Liberal election is a farce.
Its not about democracy, but back room deals, you do this and you get that. Some of the deals are
going to come out in the next election if they win, and we will all lose as tax payers. If they were concerned about democracy, they would give card carrying members a code and they can vote on the internet for who they want. I don’t see this ever happening in Canada, from any party. I know polls are for peeing on….. gives the Conservatives around 38% to the Liberals 25-27% Have not heard any response from the rest of the media.
