Talking heads say so far, Rae’s speech was the best. And now Iggy, after a 10 minute video, so he will probably be cut of also.

The acedemic from Harvard is talking about, I don’t know, farmers? And winning seats in Alberta? I like the guy as opposition leader and I couldn’t imagine him getting much futher than that – but here it comes – “Stephen Harper is mean spirited.” – the new Liberal mantra, now that the ‘scary’ thing has run its course. He might be able to make a good speech, but what? Torture, or no torture? Iraq, or no Iraq? Quebec is a nation in Canada, or is it a nation? I got an idea, let’s create a debating club and write a paper on the results.

Actually, I rather liked him until he backed down on his previous stance on torture.

I voted for torture, until I voted against it. Sort of like Rae – I was NDP last year, until I became a Liberal this year.
I guess they don’t understand that a principal is not a principal until it costs you something. Or, stand for something and some will stand with you and some will stand against you. Stand for nothing and nobody will stand with you and nobody will stand against you.

Rae’s Paul Demarais’ Power Corp’s choice, he’s Chretien, Martin, and Turner’s choice, he’s the choice of a whole lotta Liberal insiders, hacks, and backroom boys, and he’s Joe Volpe’s choice and the 105 delegates, not to mention other “help,” he can deliver.
Bob Rae’s a shoe-in. Now all he’s got to do is win a seat in Parliament. I wonder which safe riding they’ll parachute him into?

If,.. IF Iggy wins over Rae, would that mean the decades long Strong, Desmarais, Trudeau, ect dynasty has had it’s dick-tator-ship strings cut ?? If so, this may be the biggest change in political power since the 1960’s !! Any coincidence that it was also about the 1960s when Canada seemed to take the ditch ??

What sitting liberal will give up their seat for Rae in Ontario. What can he promise them, a senate seat in the future, an ambassadorship, or head of a crown corp. Maybe the new London liberal will quit, as it is supposedly a safe seat. That guy had the gall to say he sent Harper a message. It was a liberal seat to start with.

And don’t forget CITIC Pacific Ltd – owned by Power Corp – with immense holdings in Hong Kong & China -ever wonder why Chretien spends so much time promoting trade with China????

It has always amazed me that Power Corp, the Desmarais family and their huge connection to Cdn politics is ignored by the MSM. This would seem to me to be a huge story. What gives?? Surely some junior reporter has wanted to do a story on this at one time or another. Do these stories get shelved? Similarly, we never here anything about Maurice Strong or any of his comings and goings with nere’do’wells of the world.

johnboy: About the only MSM that have touched the Liberal Party/Demarais/Power Corp/Mo Strong connections is the magazine The Western Standard. Mark Steyn wrote an article about it a few months ago, but that’s about IT.

Any chance that if you were a rookie reporter and you wrote about it, you might never write another article again? Any chance that the members of the MSM enjoy perks and privileges from their connections with the Liberal/Power Corp cabal?
There’s talk that Iggy is also backed by Desmarais, so whether he or Rae gets in, it doesn’t really matter as far as the Puppet Master is concerned. One will be PM and the other will be Finance or Justic Minister…All the more reason why Canadians need to re-elect the CPC and PM Stephen Harper.
