  1. The only way I dishonour them is allowing communism to live here. Some people pretend its something different and call it socialism, and put out manifestos in the guise of newspapers.

  2. you know, one of the most basic principles of economics is that people will respond to incentive. Ie. When you introduce lower prices for oil, you decrease the incentive to change. In a lot of ways, our over-use and declining oil reserves is just the kind of thing that allows true innovation. From an economics standpoint – you are suggesting by lowering the price of petroleum products artificially, is sending us into the age of the dinosaurs. You’re talking about removing any REAL incentive. Our usage would just begin outpacing our oil supplies once more – its a viscious cycle, and quite frankly – having the prices sitting where they are is a good thing. One could even argue that from a standpoint of innovation, we need to raise the price of fossil-fuel based goods (but i won’t go this far).
If you were to allow that to happen – you would end alberta’s “oil grab” much sooner – instead you would end up sustaining the very thing you appear to be fighting against.
