But when Jack came out saying he no longer supported the government, did he do so knowing about the details of C-66 and the Liberals near- contempt for parliament?� Check it out.� In C-66, the Liberals have introduced legislation detailing how that $900 million will be handed out.� Part 2 deals with energy efficiency and Part 3 deals with Public Transit.� (e.g. in Part 3, they actually name the Minister who will requisition the money, and count out how much will be spent each year!)� Bill C-66 has only just gotten to first reading; no one has yet even spoken about it in the House.�
Once parliament has expressed its opinion on one subject you can’t go back and try the same thing again to get a different result.� Everyone thought C-48 was a fait accompli.� Now the crafty Liberals have stuffed enough new measures into C-66 that they will be able to dodge that charge (some good lawyers could maybe prove otherwise).� However, if C-66 isn’t passed, then that $900M Jack promised every Mayor in Canada and that his website claims to have delivered will not materialize.
Basically, with C-66, the gov’t lawyers will be able to say that all C-48 did was put $900M into the bank ready to be spent.� But C-66 is required to, y’know, actually spend it.� Heh and something tells me the gov’t won’t be in any hurry to pass C-66.� Surprise surprise, Jack’s been double-crossed.� Get used to Martin & the Gang everyone, they’re not going anywhere.
Today, Darcey had thoughts of C-66 dancing in his head in response to Paul Martin’s carrot and stick performance that promised to yank a $250 fuel rebate from shivering Canadians;
This rebate is a part of Bill C-66 so I wonder how sincere he really is:
“The bill was introduced on October 6th, 2005. No money will flow to any Canadian until the bill is passed by both the House of Commons and the Senate. To date, the Liberals have pulled Bill C-66 from the Order of Business three times � October 19th, 24th, and 27th � which seems to indicate that they are not interested in passing this legislation as a priority.”

I am at a loss on what is going on with peoples minds when the Liberals keep on intentionally holding carrots out to voters and say “if the Conservatives bring down the government, the whole world will end as we know it and there will be no more earth to live on”. I have two questions as a result.
1. How stupid do the Liberals think the voters are? or…
2. How stupid are the voters (especially Ont.)?
Or is most of the mood perpetuated by the media and really “telling us how the voters feel”. Is it really how they feel? or is it how the media and the Liberals wish they felt?
“We are the government and are here to help(you with your own money, again)”
Honestly, the sad thing it the gullable voters will believe that the big bad Conservatives will take the giveaway money the Liberals have so gracoiusly promised to give. Nobody will question why there is such a big surplus if the government weren’t overtaxing them in the first place.
The Lieberano$ have perfected this bait & switch act to such a fine art that they can literally promise the same money over and over without actually giving the money out. Anyone know just how much of the promised monies for the tsunami actually made it to the victims?
Unfortunately, I think they may get away with it. If so, then I’m afraid that Canadian’s (or at least Ontario) will get what they deserve.
Martin and the Liberals have taken the check is in the mail thing to a whole new level.
Oh ya, and they promised to abolish the GST!
I watched the national news portion of CTV supper hour tonight. It was a non-stop campaign ad for the Liberals.
If you have a moment, tell them so. And tell them you’re tired of news organizations who think you’re as stupid as the Liberals do.

I think that the whole scary, hidden agenda business is an excuse for Ontarians not to vote Conservative. They know better, but they know that the Tories will never butter their bread like the Libs do. Tories will do what is good for Canada overall and that leaves many Ontarians with the perception that that equates to less for them (though not necessarily true)
Hey Kate, have you happened to notice on CTV Newsnet that Via Rail, Export Development Corp. and of all things, The Canadian Mint have all advertised during “Duffy Live”. Who’s paying who’s salary there? No wonder the guest line up is always stacked with Lie-beral’s.
So the Conservative complaint is now that the Liberals refuse to put forward Liberal policies fast enough? What a world!

The whole thing about making promises to get elected and then failing to deliver afterwards, is actually a very good ploy- it always works.
(But we will find out: who gets the unkept promises, and who gets the funds- any bets?)

Some guy named Mulroney invented the GST. Problem with it was he should’ve, at the same time, cut income taxes and slashed wasteful spending. He didn’t. Hindsight is 20/20.
Of course, the Liberals haven’t really done better. Spending is at an all-time high and skyrocketing us towards a deficit should we see a sudden econo downturn. Still got the GST. And as for income tax cuts, well, I still see the bastards take too damn much off of my paycheck. And don’t get me started on the payroll taxes, the CPP and EI deductions. CPP? Probably never see it. And how the hell will I be able to live on a measly eight grand thirty-forty years from now? Yeah, sure, Paulie saved the pension plan. Slashed benefits while hiking premiums. What a piss-poor performance. The EI? Premiums way too high for the original intents of the programs. It’s a Librano cash cow, essentially.
What do they provide in return in terms of gov’t service? Waiting lines for medical care from which people actually die. Crumbling infrastructure. No national security and almost no national defence. A state police force controlled from the PMO– becoming more and more like the KGB of the USSR. A government that ignores Parliament and does whatever it damn well pleases. Crime, corruption and greed galore. A Quebec separatist for the Governor General, the Queen’s rep. Terrorists being let go to walk freely among us, threatening us in the media. And on and on…
To hell with the “Liberals”. *Spit*!
