Note to Maz2 and other commentors: Cut it out with the off topic links on these threads. I provide posts every day or two expressly for that purpose called “reader tips”. I’ve given several warnings – I’m going to start banning you.

Hahahaha! It’s always amusing to see that the right can’t stand what their flying monkies are up to.
One day I will learn to spell monkeys.
*sigh*
“Winged monkeys”, Robbie.
Kate,
I am new to blog sites so I apologize for my ignorance. What exactly are “reader tips”? Or is there a link that you can send me to for blog definitions and protocols.
P.S.
Your doing a great job.
Thank you for your efforts.
Every couple of days I put up a post that has a few quick links, and invite readers to use the comments to provide links to other news items or blog posts they think are interesting.
What I’m starting to crack down on are those who use threads devoted to a single topic for these off-topic links, and irrelevant chat.
They aren’t blogosphere rules – just reminders to use common sense and a bit of discretion before appropriating other people’s blogs (and bandwidth) for your own purposes, legitimate as they may be.
Here’s a link for that blowhard McClelland who is fond of misrepresenting statistics and taking shots at Westerners. Put this in your pipe and smoke it, Robert:
http://www.statcan.ca/Daily/English/051109/d051109a.htm
Residents in the Yukon and the three western-most provinces had proficiency scores in literacy that were above the national average, according to a major survey of literacy proficiencies among individuals aged 16 and over in the provinces and territories.
…
The survey showed that proficiency was not evenly distributed within Canada. The provinces and territories fell roughly into three groups based on average scores.
The Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan had average scores significantly higher than the national average in all domains.
Hey Kate:
About off topic, how about starting another CFL topic? Gives us a chance to pick apart the season before the play offs.
Cheers.
Might I humbly suggest that everyone with a blog have a brief sidebar or link to a paragraph or something laying out the basic rules of conduct preferred by the owner of a blog? Quite a few have it.
Newcomers can easily feel lost wrt commenting ettiquette.

Is that ‘Winged’ monkeys or ‘Whinged’ monkeys?
(I’m just sayin’)
And since the topic of this post is off-topic comments, would off-topic comments actually be considered on-topic for this particular thread?
So, Kate, what is the topic of this post? Oh yes, “off-topic”. Okay, well, let’s see… Hmm… Oh yes, hears a good one:
I wish Harper would just shut up. Every time he opens his mouth he hands the MSM another headline and the CPC drops in the polls. One day he wants to defeat the Martin cartel and the next he says he’s not sure he wants to do so right now. Geez. When the opposition is rotting in their own sewer would it not be smart to just leave them alone? I mean, like, just shut up.
hey Kate.
dont know where to post it. did it way down in the reader tips , but I think there is a significant correlation of where the unemployed stay and watch TV and the mailman and the literacy survey.
this has been encouraged for generations. stay home and sit on your duff. meanwhile import technical workers to the oilsands and into engineering firms , no incentive to leave, improve or otherwise change the status quo. vote the libs right back in. yes, NS, NB, Nfld- we are talking to you.
