Warren Kinsella made quite the assertion yesterday.
“This is true. He is correct. Thank you.”
What was he confirming to be the truth?
WINDSOR, Ont. (CP) – Prime Minister Paul Martin says anyone found culpable in the sponsorship scandal should be punished severely but he doesn’t believe his predecessor, Jean Chretien, knew anything about it.
“I don’t believe that the former prime minister was knowledgeable,” Martin said Tuesday.
Paul Martin states that he doesn’t “believe” Jean Chretien “knew anything” about the corruption in the sponsorship program.
Warren Kinsella, staunch Chretien ally – the same Warren Kinsella who, as chief of staff for Public Works Minister David Dingwall, sent a memo advising the deputy minister to hire Chuck Guite – goes a significant distance further, by declaring that belief to be “correct”.
Now, think about that for a moment.
As close as he was to his former Prime Minister, Warren Kinsella has never claimed psychic abilities. Nor has was he at Chretien’s side 24 hours a day, listening in to every telephone call made and taken. No facts have been brought into evidence via Gomery or anyone else that have exonerated Jean Chretien. Quite the opposite – as the testimony continues, the scandal edges ever closer to the PMO.
At this stage of the investigation, the ability to state without qualification what Jean Chretien knew or didn’t remains the domain of a privilaged few – those who had a unique perspective on the money laundering scheme.
I’ll leave it to the reader to ponder what that perspective might be.

I thought we were supposed to wait until Gomery reports before we jump to any conclusions. Why therefore is Milhouse Martin exonerating Crooked Crouton?
On the other hand, what an embarassing display of butt smooching by WK.
Gomery has lifted the ban, what shall we find out?
Oh yes, indeed, how could he know that Chretien did not know, without knowing about it himself at the time? Good point.
On another topic, did Martin ever disclose who it was that advised him not to launch the Gormery Pile inquiry? Wouldn’t that amount to obstruction of justice? Wouldn’t Martin want to see those people punished? Especially if they knew about the laundering scheme, and still advised him not to launch an inquiry? Wouldn’t Martin want to, metaphorically speaking, crucify those persons?
see kinsella’s site now. discussing PM Layton!
I think that the liberals are in deep sh** over this with lots of their members. hahahahahaha
also look for ctv’s coverage of harper’s reaction! sweet
Do you think it matters if Kinsella has any way of knowing for sure? If Martin is Mr Dithers, Kinsella is Mr Smithers to Chretien’s Mr Burns, and as such he’d let no oppourtunity slide to exonerate/praise his master-cum-former employer.
also see the ctv interview with rona ambrose and company. peter van loan hits the “american style campaign” theme. keep hitting that talking point!
I would have posted a link, but it’s all messed up, stupidly long, and doesn’t work with tinyurl
Kinsella seems to be getting sloppy with his statements. Gloating in a round-about way.
Ooooh boy. This really provides startling contrast to Kinsella’s glowing endorsements of Guite in the past. Be interesting to see how he spins that.
Now I haven’t actually read the entry on Whore-en’s blog (I refuse to give him any traffic), so I may be mis-understanding the sequence of statements, but try this on for size.
What I see is Martin saying, “I don’t believe that the former prime minister was knowledgeable”, and Kinsella saying, “This is true. He is correct”.
So Kinsella seems to be confirming only that Martin “believes” Chretien to be uninvolved – but not that Chretien actually WAS uninvolved.
Something on the order of “The Honourable Member says that I called him a son-of-a-bitch, and I regret to say that it is true”.
Kate is so right. Ask a Liberal the time of day, and you’d better parse every word to get the real answer.
Worn Who?
He is yesterday’s man(man?).
Ditto with Chretien/Martin/Layton. SSM, in deed and in fact.
Long live freedom and democracy.
Well, seems that we readers are confused. Maybe he’ll pop by and give us the explanation. What exactly is Martin correct about? Huh?
On another topic, Coyne is unearthing some fascinating information about “Liberal-friendly” advertising firms outside of Quebec.
“FOLLOW THE MONEY: Gingko is a contributor to the Liberal Party ($13,400 from 1996 to 2003), but a piker compared to Vickers & Benson ($102,475), Palmer-Jarvis ($125,490), Allard-Johnson ($145,645) and others among the tte-carre advertising community.”
Warren will always be the Liberal’s fluffer.
Seems that Warren must know something that Gomery needs to hear. Is he scheduled to testify? I mean, if he absolutely can exonerate Chretien, isn’t that something that Gomery would be very interested in? Maybe he’s already scheduled to testify. Anybody know?
Jesus H. Criminy, you folks slay me.
Say, here’s eight new words for you to ponder:
Kicking Stockwell Day’s ass was really, really fun.
Or:
Mulroney got bags of cash in hotel rooms.
Or:
Reporters will use “Blogging Tories” to hurt CPC.
(That last one is cheating, a bit, because I used an acronym. Sorry.)
There you go. Lots more eight-word haikus to ponder.
Knock yourselves out.
Yours in Christ,
Kinsella
In response to questions about how he learned inside information on the mechanics of the money laundering scheme now known as Adscam, Warren Kinsella responded;
“Stockwell Day! Blogging Tories !! Mulroney Mulroney Mulroney!!!”
ROFLMAO and LOL combined…
Yo, WK, man that was weak dude….
Try Preparation H…
The blogging Tories are so off-the-wall, so far-fetched, so stir-crazy, so-wingnuttish, that they cannot be ignored. A visit is required, with Haiku, yet. Why waste the energy on nutbars?
Reporters? From the MSM? The Liberal lapdog MSM?
On second thought, the publicity would be great. Think of how many heretofore nonblogging people he could drive here by getting the reporters all interested.
Hey, brilliant strategy. Bring on the audience.
Then, we’ll ask everybody the same question. Don’t see that it’s going to get asked in the MSM anytime soon.
Have at ‘er.
Some relativistic punk rock artistic gobing into the crowd.
He’s so the raging artist wannabe.
Elitist spoiled brat poser.
You forgot “wannabe blogger”. The training wheels can be removed once you figure out the mechanics of handling *comments*. First step in the new twelve step “understand the new medium” program.
What’s with Kinsella’s obsession with other men’s asses?
Kissing Da Boss’s ass was really, really fun.
Or:
Chretienites got envelopes of cash in dining rooms.
Or:
Kinsella’s obsession with homo erotica will hurt ass.
If you thought that you could cream the other side if they wanted to campaign on adscam, you would try to goad them into into it.
Easy. Don’t get suckered. Campaign instead on specific reforms that we need, make sense, and will benefit the country (oops, I nearly said Party). For instance, opening the books of all agencies and foundations (where’s the tsunami money?) to the AG. Easy to do. Want federal funds? Then agree to auditability by the AG. Done. Brison will verify that audits are potent. He’s the new champion of audits.
Liberal arrogance to believe that non-Liberals are stupid.
Bring on the citizens to the blogs, where they are free from the Liberal media mindzap. Bring them here in droves.
“Kicking Stockwell Day’s ass was really, really fun.”
Oh, bullcrap. That’s like an adult bragging up pounding the snot out of a preschooler. Stock’s utter obliviousness to non-SoCons had pretty much sealed his fate before he ever got anywhere near you.
Now if you want to take credit for something, I will admit that the shitburger you fed David Herle last week was an absolute masterpiece.
“What’s with Kinsella’s obsession with other men’s asses?”
I have a particularly fine ass — it’s no wonder he’s obsessed with it. 😉
All Kinsella has confirmed is that the PMO back in 1995 was made directly aware of alleged contracting problems, and they opted to do nothing. Mr. Chretien’s office turned a blind eye. It is enough to make one wonder what other contracting problems Chretien’s PMO may have been made aware of, but opted to do nothing and turn a blind eye… step up one Chuck Guite?
